Silicon and hybrid silicon photonic devices for intra-datacenter applications: state of the art and perspectives [Invited]

we review the state of the art and our perspectives on silicon and hybrid silicon photonic devices for optical interconnects in datacenters. After a brief discussion of the key requirements for intra-datacenter optical interconnects, we propose a wavelength-division-multiplexing(wDM)-based optical interconnect for intra-datacenter applications. Following our proposed interconnects configuration, the bulk of the review emphasizes recent developments concerning on-chip hybrid silicon microlasers and wDM transmitters, and silicon photonic switch fabrics for intra-datacenters. For hybrid silicon microlasers and wDM transmitters, we outline the remaining challenges and key issues toward realizing low power consumption, direct modulation, and integration of multiwavelength microlaser arrays. For silicon photonic switch fabrics, we review various topologies and configurations of high-port-count N-by-N switch fabrics using Mach–Zehnder interferometers and microring resonators as switch elements, and discuss their prospects toward practical implementations with active *** the microring-based switch fabrics, we review recent developments of active stabilization schemes at the subsystem level. Last, we outline several large challenges and problems for silicon and hybrid silicon photonics to meet for intra-datacenter applications and propose potential solutions.

Spreadsheets are very common for information processing to support decision making by both professional developers and non-technical end ***,business intelligence and artificial intelligence are increasingly popular in the industry nowadays,where spreadsheets have been used as,or integrated into,intelligent or expert systems in various application ***,it has been repeatedly reported that faults often exist in operational spreadsheets,which could severely compromise the quality of conclusions and decisions based on the *** a view to systematically examining this problem via survey of existing work,we have conducted a comprehensive literature review on the quality issues and related techniques of spreadsheets over a 35.5-year period(from January 1987 to June 2022)for target journals and a 10.5-year period(from January 2012 to June 2022)for target *** other findings,two major ones are:(a)Spreadsheet quality is best addressed throughout the whole spreadsheet life cycle,rather than just focusing on a few specific stages of the life cycle.(b)Relatively more studies focus on spreadsheet testing and debugging(related to fault detection and removal)when compared with spreadsheet specification,modeling,and design(related to development).As prevention is better than cure,more research should be performed on the early stages of the spreadsheet life *** by our comprehensive review,we have identified the major research gaps as well as highlighted key research directions for future work in the area.

A series of mononuclear complexes and unsymmetric dinuclear alkynylplatinum(II)terpyridine complexes with oligo(paraphenylene ethynylene)(OPE)-derived backbone with a variation of the lengths of alkoxy chains and OPE backbones was *** morphological properties,packing lattice and gelation behaviors of the mononuclear complexes were systematically studied,and the thermodynamic parameters and packing lattices of the dinuclear complexes were also investigated,providing further insights into the roles of the non-covalent interactions and their delicate balance in constructing sophisticated supramolecular *** and nanotube formation have been observed upon a delicate control of the intermolecular interactions by altering the lengths and structural dimensions of the complexes.

Background:Physical inactivity is a major public health problem worldwide that results in physical and mental health *** major issue for physical inactivity is weight stigma(wS),especially perceived wS,which could lead to a tendency to avoid physical activity(PA).To better understand the association between perceived wS and PA,knowledge of the likely mediators in this association such as weight bias internalization(wBI)and psychological distress were investigated in the present ***:Using a two-wave longitudinal study and convenient sampling,388 Taiwan residents participants(55%females;mean age=29.7 years[SD±6.3])completed two surveys six months *** mass index(BMI),Perceived weight Stigma Scale(PwSS),weight Bias Internalization Scale(wBIS),Depression,Anxiety,Stress Scale(DASS-21),and Tendency to Avoid Physical Activity and Sport Scale(TAPAS)were ***:A mediation model controlling for age,gender,and BMI with 5000 bootstrapping resamples was *** wS exerted significant direct effects on wBI(β=0.25;pwBI exerted a significant direct effect on tendency to avoid PA(β=0.47;pwBI and psychological distress on the association between perceived wS and tendency to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01,***:Given the direct association of perceived wS on the tendency to avoid PA and the mediating role of wBI in this association,interventions addressing perceived wS and wBI may contribute to promoting ***,health interventionists(both when planning and executing PA programs)need to consider weight stigmawhen encouraging physical activity.

Preeclampsia(PE),a multisystem disorder in pregnancy,is one of the leading causes of perinatal morbidity and mortality that poses financial and physical burdens *** PE with delivery atweeks of gestation is associated with a higher risk of adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes than term PE with delivery at≥37 weeks of gestation.A myriad of first trimester screening models have been developed to identifying women at risk of preterm *** fact,the Fetal Medicine Foundation(FMF)first trimester prediction model has undergone successful internal and external *** FMF triple test enables the estimation of patient-specific risks,using Bayes theorem to combine maternal characteristics and medical history together with measurements of mean arterial pressure,uterine artery pulsatility index,and serum placental growth *** a quality control process for regular monitoring and to ensure data standardization,reliability,and accuracy is key to maintaining optimal screening *** rate of preterm PE can be reduced by 62%by using the FMF prediction model,followed by the administration of low-dose *** evidence has also demonstrated that metformin has the potential for preventing PE in patients at high-risk of the *** this article,we will summarize the existing literature on the different screening methods,different components of risk assessment,therapeutic interventions,and clinical implementation of the first trimester screening and prevention program for PE with specific considerations for Chinese mainland.

《诗》三百零五篇,不成于一时一地一人。《风》按地区划分,包括周南、召南、风、风、卫风、王风、郑风、风、齐风、魏风、唐风、秦风、风、陈风和曹风,合共一百六十篇,又称“十五国风”。《国风》带有浓烈的地方色彩,故有民歌、民谣之说,学者虽不尽赞同,然而《国风》带有地方特色的一点,实可深入讨论。西汉末年,扬雄撰有《方言》,其全名为《輶轩使者绝代语释别国方言》。輶轩使者辗转各地,收集不同地方相异的语言。清代戴震《方言疏证》以逐条疏证的方式,勾勒经典文献解释与《方言》相合者,作为佐证。其中《方言》条目有与《诗经》释义相近者,或可视为原本《方言》收集词汇的依据。论文以《方言》所载与《国风》释义相比较,辅之以戴震《方言疏证》和钱绎《方言笺疏》,以见《方言》释义之出处。其次,比较《国风》与《方言》字词之载录,讨论诗文的地方色彩。
