Imaging the western boundary of the Sichuan Craton from multiple geophysical observations

The boundary between the cratonic and orogenic lithospheres is one of the most significant seismogenic zones characterized by strong lithospheric deformation. As the essential tectonic block bounding the eastern Tibetan Plateau， the Sichuan Craton (SCC) resists the eastward escape of Plateau’s crustal materials， resulting in the uplift of the Songpan-Ganzi Block (SGB) and the crustal deformation of the Longmenshan tectonic belt (LMTB). To uncover the compressional structures and deformational mode of the LMTB and SCC， it is crucial to determine the precise location and geometry of the western boundary of the SCC. To address this issue， the lithospheric properties of the obduction SGB， the underthrusting SCC， and the LMTB were analyzed using a series of geophysical data， including seismic reflection profiles， magnetotellurics， aeromagnetics， gravity， and seismic tomography. The crust of the SGB is characterized by low magnetism， low seismic velocity， low resistivity and low Bouguer gravity， while that of the SCC features non-uniform high magnetism， high seismic velocity， high resistivity and high Bouguer gravity. The LMTB， as the boundary between the SGB and SCC， shows the geophysical characteristics similar to the SCC along the southern and central segments. The integration of all these geophysical observations suggests that the SCC’s western boundary follows the Yingxiu-Beichuan fault along the northern segment， without obvious underthrust. However， this boundary is located west of the Wenchuan-Maoxian fault zone along the southern and central segments， with distinct westward wedging/underthrusting. The irregular geometry of the SCC’s western boundary can further explain the variation in structural deformation along the LMTB. By comparing the differences in crustal thickness and lithospheric strength between the SGB and SCC， this study suggests that the varying crustal strength between tectonic blocks may be the controlling factor for the irregular geometry of the

【目的】黄龙病是柑橘最严重的传染性病害，柑橘木虱Diaphorina citri Kuwayama是黄龙病的媒介昆虫。与健康橘树相比，感染黄龙病的橘树对木虱的吸引作用显著增强，本研究目的是探明病树挥发物的改变是否与此现象有关。【方法】在前期分析健康和染病沙糖橘Citrus reticulate ***. Shatangju嫩梢挥发物成分变化的基础上，分别在室内外测定部分差异较大的化合物单体标样及其混合物对柑橘木虱的吸引效果。【结果】雌虫对α-蒎烯（1μL/mL）、γ-萜品烯（0.01μL/mL）和芳樟醇（0.1μL/mL）具有显著的正趋性，但对柠檬烯各浓度均未表现出明显的趋性；雄虫对4种单体标样所有浓度均未表现出显著的趋性。将各种化合物按其有效浓度混合后，雌虫对6种混合物均有显著的正趋性，其中，对γ-萜品烯（0.2μL/mL）+α-蒎烯（0.8μL/mL）+芳樟醇（0.3μL/mL）具有极显著正趋向选择；雄虫对4种混合物有显著的正趋性。将化合物单体及其混合物作为诱剂，在九里香Murraya paniculata L.上测定其诱集效果。结果表明，单一物质均无显著效果，但15种混合物中有5种诱到的木虱数量显著多于对照。将其中3种混合物γ-萜品烯（20μL/mL）+α-蒎烯（80μL/mL）+芳樟醇（30μL/mL）、γ-萜品烯（2μL/mL）+α-蒎烯（8μL/mL）+芳樟醇（3μL/mL）和γ-萜品烯（20μL/mL）+芳樟醇（30μL/mL）在橘园进行测试，结果表明，3种诱剂诱到的木虱数量均显著增加。【结论】α-蒎烯、γ-萜品烯含量增加可能是沙糖橘病树对木虱吸引作用增强的部分原因，这些物质有望用于制备柑橘木虱的引诱剂，但其最佳配比还有待进一步研究。

Implementation of Fuzzy Logic Control into an Equivalent Minimization Strategy for Adaptive Energy Management of A Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle

As government agencies continue to tighten emissions regulations due to the continued increase in greenhouse gas production, automotive industries are seeking to produce increasingly efficient vehicle technology. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have been introduced to mitigate problems while improving fuel economy. HEVs have led to the demand of creating more advanced controls software to consider multiple components for propulsive power in a vehicle. A large section in the software development process is the implementation of an optimal energy management strategy meant to improve the overall fuel efficiency of the vehicle. Optimal strategies can be implemented when driving conditions are known a prior. The Equivalent Consumption Minimization Strategy (ECMS) is an optimal control strategy that uses an equivalence factor to equate electrical to mechanical power when performing torque split determination between the internal combustion engine and electric motor for propulsive and regenerative torque. This equivalence factor is determined from offline vehicle simulations using a sensitivity analysis to provide optimal fuel economy results while maintaining predetermined high voltage battery state of charge (SOC) constraints. When the control hierarchy is modified or different driving styles are applied, the analysis must be redone to update the equivalence factor. The goal of this work is to implement a fuzzy logic controller that dynamically updates the equivalence factor to improve fuel economy, maintain a strict charge sustaining window of operation for the high voltage battery, and reduce computational time required during algorithm development. The adaptive algorithm is validated against global optimum fuel economy and charge sustaining results from a sensitivity analysis performed for multiple drive cycles. ChatGPT has obvious benefits in the way it can interrogate vast amounts of reference information and utilise metadata generation to answer questions posed to it and is freely available having been developed through human feedback. Already there are ethical and practical implications on its impact on learning and research. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been seen as a way of improving healthcare provision by delivering more robust outcomes but measuring these and implementing AI within this setting is at present limited and disjointed. Methods: ChatGPT was interrogated to see what it felt were the barriers to its implementation within healthcare and in particular orthopaedic practice. The evidence for this determination was then examined for validity and applicability for a practical roll out at a Trust, Regional or National level. Results: AI can synthesise a vast amount of information to help it answer specific questions. The context and structure of any question will determine the usefulness of the answer which can then be used to develop practical solutions based on experience and resource limitations. Conclusions: AI has a role in service development and can quickly focus a working group to areas to consider when practically implementing change.

Estimation of Peanut Maturity Using Color Image Analysis

Peanuts pods grow underground and mature unevenly, resulting that choosing the correct time to harvest is more complicated than other crops. Pod maturity can be determined by blasting with a pressure washer to remove outer skin of the pod (exocarp) to expose the color of the middle layer (mesocarp). The mesocarp color changes with maturity from white to yellow, orange, brown and finally black. The sum of percentage from orange, brown, and black mesocarp (OBB) color and black color (BL) represents the kernels that are mature enough to harvest. The goal of this research is to identify methodologies to estimate OBB and BL of the pods using RGB images taken in the field and validate the proposed model using other pod images. The Mahalanobis distance classification method was used to process sets of images and calculate pod area (number of pixels) corresponding to two classes (mesocarp and background) with nine different color groups. The results showed a performance of 94% effectiveness for mesocarp using Mahalanobis distance classification. Statistical regression for OBB and BL was developed based on 315 images of peanut pods taken from the field. The R2 and root mean square error of predicted and actual OBB were 0.93 and 4.1%, respectively. The R2 and root mean square error of predicted and actual BL were 0.88 and 1.8%, respectively. The validation of OBB using other images provided reasonable estimation (R2 = 0.98 and RMSE = 2.73%). This study introduces a novel, cost-effective, and non-destructive method for estimating peanut maturity using RGB imagery and Mahalanobis distance classification in the field. This innovative approach addresses the limitations of traditional methods and offers a robust alternative for real-time maturity assessment.

As a precise and versatile tool for genome manipulation,the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9(Cas9)platform holds promise for modifying fish traits of *** the aim of reducing transgene introgression and controlling reproduction,upscaled disease resistance and reproductive intervention in catfish species have been studied to lower the potential environmental risks of the introgression of escapees as transgenic *** advantage of the CRISPR/Cas9-mediated system,we succeeded in integrating the cathelicidin gene(As-Cath)from an alligator(Alligator sinensis)into the target luteinizing hormone(lh)locus of channel catfish(Ictalurus punctatus)using two delivery systems assisted by double-stranded DNA(dsDNA)and single-stranded oligodeoxynucleotides(ssODNs),*** this study,high knock in(KI)efficiency(22.38%,64/286)but low ontarget events was achieved using the ssODN strategy,whereas adopting a dsDNA as the donor template led to an efficient on-target KI(10.80%,23/213).The on-target KI of As-Cath was instrumental in establishing the lh knockout(LH^(–)_As-Cath^(+))catfish line,which displayed heightened disease resistance and reduced fecundity compared with the wild-type(WT)sibling ***,administration of human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG)and luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogue(LHRHa)can restore the reproduction of the transgenic fish ***,we replaced the lh gene with an alligator cathelicidin transgene and then administered hormone therapy to move towards complete reproductive control of diseaseresistant transgenic catfish in an environmentally responsible *** strategy not only effectively improves consumer-valued traits but also guards against unwanted introgression,providing a breakthrough in aquaculture genetics to confine fish reproduction and prevent the establishment of transgenic or domestic genotypes in the natural environment.
