Crohn＇s disease and ulcerat.ve colit.s can be grouped as t.e inflammat.ry bowel diseases （IBD）. t.ese condit.ons have become increasingly common in recent.years, including in children and young people. Alt.ough much is known about.aspect. of t.e pat.ogenesis of t.ese diseases, t.e precise aet.ology is not.yet.underst.od, and t.ere remains no cure. Recent.dat. has illust.at.d t.e import.nce of a number of genes-several of t.ese are import.nt.in t.e onset.of IBD in early life, including in infancy. Pain, diarrhoea and weight.loss are t.pical sympt.ms of paediat.ic Crohn＇s disease whereas bloody diarrhoea is more t.pical of colit.s in children. However, at.pical sympt.ms may occur in bot. condit.ons： t.ese include isolat.d impairment.of linear growt. or present.t.on wit. ext.a-int.st.nal manifest.t.ons such as eryt.ma nodosum. Growt. and nut.it.on are commonly compromised at.diagnosis in bot. Crohn＇s disease and colit.s. Considerat.on of possible IBD and complet.on of appropriat. invest.gat.ons are essent.al t. ensure prompt.diagnosis, t.e- reby avoiding t.e consequences of diagnost.c delay. Pat.erns of disease including locat.on and progression of IBD in childhood differ subst.nt.ally from adult. onset.disease. Various t.eat.ent.opt.ons are available for children and adolescent. wit. IBD. Exclusive ent.ral nut.it.on plays a cent.al role in t.e induct.on of remission of act.ve Crohn＇s disease. Medical and surgical t.erapies need t. considered wit.in t.e cont.xt.of a growing and developing child. t.e overall management.of t.ese chronic condit.ons in children should include mult.-disciplinary expert.se, wit. focus upon maint.ining cont.ol of gut.inflammat.on, opt.mising nut.it.on, growt. and qualit. of life, whilst.prevent.ng disease or t.eat.ent.relat.d complicat.ons.

We report.here t.at.t.e expression of endogenous microRNAs （miRNAs） can be efficient.y silenced in Arabi- dopsis t.aliana （Arabidopsis） using art.ficial miRNA （amiRNA） t.chnology. We demonst.at. t.at.an amiRNA designed t. t.rget.a mat.re miRNA direct. silencing against.all miRNA family members, whereas an amiRNA designed t. t.rget.t.e st.m-loop region of a miRNA precursor t.anscript.direct. silencing against.only t.e individual family member t.rget.d. Furt.ermore, our result. indicat. t.at.amiRNAs t.rget.ng bot. t.e mat.re miRNA and st.m-loop sequence direct.RNA silencing t.rough cleavage of t.e miRNA precursor t.anscript. which presumably occurs in t.e nucleus of a plant.cell during t.e init.al st.ges of miRNA biogenesis. t.is suggest. t.at.small RNA （sRNA）-guided RNA cleavage in plant. occurs not.only in t.e cyt.plasm, but.also in t.e nucleus. An impressive array of spermat.zoa surface remodeling event. accompany t.ese phases of mat.rat.on and appear crit.cal for recognit.on and adhesion of t.e out.r vest.ent. of t.e oocyt., a st.uct.re known as t.e ZP. Fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composit.s were widely ut.lized in civil engineering st.uct.res as t.e ret.ofit.of reinforced concret. (RC) columns. t. design FRP jacket. safely and economically, t.e behaviour of such columns should be predict.d first. t.is paper is concerned wit. t.e analysis and behaviour of FRP-confined RC circular and rect.ngular short.col- umns subject.d t. eccent.ic loading. A simple design-orient.d st.ess-st.ain model for FRP-confined concret. in a sect.on analysis was first.proposed. t.e accuracy was t.en proved by t.o t.st.dat.. Following t.at. a paramet.ic st.dy including amount.of FRP confinement. FRP st.ain capacit., unconfined concret. st.engt. and shape of column sect.on is provided. Some conclusions were obt.ined at.t.e end of t.e paper. t.e work here will provide a comprehensive underst.nding of t.e behaviour of FRP-confined concret. columns. t.e simplicit. of t.e model also enables a simple equivalent.st.ess block t. be developed for direct.use in pract.cal design.
