Hepatic angiomyolipoma is an uncommon primary benign epithelial liver neoplasm. most patients with angiomyolipomas are middle-aged women who commonly present with epigastric fullness or pain. Angiomyolipomas are tumors consisting of three tissue types: blood vessels, smooth muscle, and fat. Hepatic angiomyolipomas may be difficult to differentiate from other liver neoplasms by noninvasive imaging. We report a 58-year-old asymptomatic woman with a mass in the right lobe of the liver, found incidentally on routine abdominal sonography. Preoperative radiographic evaluation revealed a 6.5-cm hypervascular lesion abutting the inferior vena cava. Preoperative histologic study demonstrated an epithelial neoplasm suspicious for hepatocellular carcinoma. metastatic workup was negative. At resection, the tumor was found to be an angiomyolipoma composed of lipoid, vascular and smooth muscle cells. Further staining was positive for HmB-45. Resection margins were negative. The woman had an uneventful recovery and was discharged on postoperative day seven. She currently remains well several months after her right hepatectomy.

Background:Bacillary layer detachment(BALAD)is a phenomenon characterized by fluid accumulation at the myoid region of the inner photoreceptor segments identifiable on optical coherence tomography(OCT)*** finding has been recently described in patients with diverse primary diagnoses which share the common feature of serous exudation in the posterior ***,thus far there have been very few reports in the literature of BALAD in patients with posterior *** Description:A 16-year-old male presented with unilateral vision changes that acutely worsened overnight to significant unilateral vision *** was eventually diagnosed with idiopathic posterior scleritis with associated BALAD on *** to other reported cases of BALAD,he experienced anatomic restoration of the outer retina followed by good visual recovery after treatment with high dose steroid,ultimately with complete recovery of both retinal anatomy and vision within 4 ***:This case provides further evidence that posterior scleritis can be a cause of *** rapid presentation and excellent visual and anatomical outcome of this case is entirely consistent with known descriptions of BALAD in a variety of other conditions,further supporting the categorization of BALAD as an entity which retinal specialists should be able to recognize as distinct from other forms of intraretinal fluid,retinal detachment,and retinoschisis.

An accurate segmentation and quantification of the superficial foveal avascular zone(sFAZ)is important to facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of many retinal diseases,such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein *** proposed a method based on deep learning for the automatic segmentation and quantification of the sFAZ in optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)images with robustness to brightness and contrast(B/C)variations.A dataset of 405 OCTA images from 45 participants was acquired with Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT 5000 and the ground truth(GT)was manually segmented subsequently.A deep learning network with an encoder–decoder architecture was created to classify each pixel into an sFAZ or non-sFAZ ***,we applied largestconnected-region extraction and hole-filling to fine-tune the automatic segmentation results.A maximum mean dice similarity coefficient(DSC)of 0.976±0.011 was obtained when the automatic segmentation results were compared against the *** correlation coefficient between the area calculated from the automatic segmentation results and that calculated from the GT was *** all nine parameter groups with various brightness/contrast,all the DSCs of the proposed method were higher than *** proposed method achieved better performance in the sFAZ segmentation and quantification compared to two previously reported *** conclusion,we proposed and successfully verified an automatic sFAZ segmentation and quantification method based on deep learning with robustness to B/C *** clinical applications,this is an important progress in creating an automated segmentation and quantification applicable to clinical analysis.

BACKGROUND: Because of the critical worldwide shortage of cadaveric organ donors, transplant professionals have increasingly turned to living donors. Partial hepatectomy for adult living donor liver transplantation has been performed since the late 1990s. most often,the complications of living donor hepatectomy have been related to the biliary tract, specifically biliary leaks. mETHODS: A 54-year-old man underwent donor right hepatectomy for living donor liver transplantation. Three years after liver donation he presented with upper abdominal pain and fullness. Radiographic workup revealed a diaphragmatic hernia of the right hemithorax. RESULTS: After thoracoscopic evaluation of the right hemithorax, diaphragmatic hernia was repaired. Currently the patient remains well several months after the repair with complete resolution of abdominal pain, normal chest X-ray examination demonstrating no recurrence of diaphragmatic hernia, and normal liver functions tests. CONCLUSIONS: multiple complications of living donor liver transplantation have been described the transplant literature. Diaphragmatic hernia is a formerly-undescribed complication of right donor hepatectomy for transplantation.

The mass and distance functions of free-floating planets(FFPs) would give major insights into the formation and evolution of planetary systems, including any systematic differences between those in the disk and bulge. We show that the only way to measure the mass and distance of individual FFPs over a broad range of distances is to observe them simultaneously from two observatories separated by D ~ O(0.01 au)(to measure their microlens parallax πE) and to focus on the finite-source point-lens(FSPL) events(which yield the Einstein radius θE). By combining the existing KmTNet 3-telescope observatory with a 0.3 m 4 deg2 telescope at L2, of order 130 such measurements could be made over four years, down to about m ~ 6 m⊕for bulge FFPs and m ~ 0.7 m⊕for disk FFPs. The same experiment would return masses and distances for many bound planetary systems. A more ambitious experiment, with two 0.5 m satellites(one at L2 and the other nearer Earth) and similar camera layout but in the infrared, could measure masses and distances of sub-moon mass objects, and thereby probe(and distinguish between) genuine sub-moon FFPs and sub-moon "dwarf planets" in exo-Kuiper Belts and exo-Oort Clouds.
