We investigate the global existence of strong solutions to a non-isothermal ideal gas model derived from an energy variational *** first show the global wellposedness in the Sobolev space H^(2)(R^(3)) for solutions near equilibrium through iterated energy-type bounds and a continuity *** then prove the global well-posedness in the critical Besov space B^(3/2)_(2,1) by showing that the linearized operator is a contraction mapping under the right circumstances.

A Statistical Study of Magnetic Flux Emergence in Solar Active Regions Prior to Strongest Flares

Using the data on magnetic field maps and continuum intensity for Solar Cycles 23 and 24,we explored 100 active regions(ARs)that produced M5.0 or stronger *** focus on the presence/absence of the emergence of magnetic flux in these ARs 2-3 days before the strong flare *** found that 29 ARs in the sample emerged monotonically amidst quiet-Sun.A major emergence of a new magnetic flux within a pre-existing AR yielding the formation of a complex flare-productive configuration was observed in another 24 *** 30 ARs,an insignificant(in terms of the total magnetic flux of pre-existing AR)emergence of a new magnetic flux within the pre-existing magnetic configuration was observed;for some of them the emergence resulted in a formation of a configuration with a small δ-sunspot;11 out of 100 ARs exhibited no signatures of magnetic flux emergence during the entire interval of *** six cases the emergence was in progress when the AR appeared on the Eastern limb,so that the classification and timing of emergence were not *** conclude that the recent flux emergence is not a necessary and/or sufficient condition for strong flaring of an *** flux emergence rate of flare-productive ARs analyzed here was compared with that of flare-quiet ARs analyzed in our previous *** revealed that the flare-productive ARs tend to display faster emergence than the flare-quiet ones do.

The components of proton exchange membrane water electrolysers frequently experience corrosion issues, especially at high anodic polarization, that restrict the use of more affordable alternatives to titanium. Here, we investigate localized corrosion processes of bare and Ti-coated AISI 446 ferritic stainless steel under anodic polarization by scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) in sodium sulphate and potassium chloride solutions. SECM approach curves and area scans measured at open-circuit potential (OCP) of the samples in the feedback mode using a redox mediator evidence a negative feedback effect caused by the surface passive film. For the anodic polarization of the sample, the substrate generation-tip collection mode enables to observe local generation of iron (II) ions, as well as formation of molecular oxygen. For the uncoated AISI 446 sample, localized corrosion is detected in sodium sulphate solution simultaneously with oxygen formation at anodic potentials of 1.0 V vs. Ag/AgCl, whereas significant pitting corrosion is observed even at 0.2 V vs. Ag/AgCl in potassium chloride solution. The Ti-coated AISI 446 sample reveals enhanced corrosion resistance in both test solutions, without any evidence of iron (II) ions generation at anodic potentials of 1.2 V vs. Ag/AgCl, where only oxygen formation is observed.

High-speed solar-blind short wavelength ultraviolet radiation detectors based onκ(ε)-Ga_(2)O_(3)layers with Pt contacts were demonstrated and their properties were studied in ***κ(ε)-Ga_(2)O_(3)layers were deposited by the halide vapor phase epitaxy on patterned GaN templates with sapphire *** spectral dependencies of the photoelectric properties of struc-tures were analyzed in the wavelength interval 200-370 *** maximum photo to dark current ratio,responsivity,detectiv-ity and external quantum efficiency of structures were determined as:180.86 ***.,3.57 A/W,1.78×10^(12) Hz^(0.5)∙cm·W^(-1) and 2193.6%,respectively,at a wavelength of 200 nm and an applied voltage of 1 *** enhancement of the photoresponse was caused by the decrease in the Schottky barrier at the Pt/κ(ε)-Ga_(2)O_(3)interface under ultraviolet *** detectors demon-strated could functionalize in self-powered mode due to built-in electric field at the Pt/κ(ε)-Ga_(2)O_(3)*** responsivity and external quantum efficiency of the structures at a wavelength of 254 nm and zero applied voltage were 0.9 mA/W and 0.46%,*** rise and decay times in self-powered mode did not exceed 100 ms.

Background:To review the trends in adult strabismus procedures in Ontario from ***:A population based,retrospective data analysis was *** Health Insurance Plan billing claims for strabismus procedures were collected and subdivided by number of muscles repaired,the use of adjustable sutures and repeat procedures,adjusted by the total adult *** number of Ophthalmologists performing adult strabismus surgery was also analyzed,subdivided by high volume and low volume ***:From 2000-2014,per 100,000 adult population,the number of total strabismus surgeries in Ontario increased 29.1%;single muscle surgery increased 25.0%,two muscle surgery increased 46.3%,and three or more muscle surgeries increased 8.3%.During the study period,strabismus procedures using adjustable sutures increased 26.1%and repeat procedures increased 65.1%.The number of surgeons performing adult strabismus surgery decreased 21.7%from *** 2014,88.4%of surgeries were performed by 29.8%of all of surgeons who performed adult strabismus ***:From 2000-2014,more strabismus surgery was performed in adults by fewer surgeons from *** number of adult strabismus surgeries in Ontario increased since 2000,including procedures using adjustable sutures and repeat *** changes may be due to increases in healthcare funding and an increased awareness of the functional and psychosocial benefits of strabismus surgery.

We applied adaptive dynamics to double slit interference phenomenon using particle model and obtained partial successful results in our previous report. The patterns qualitatively corresponded well with experiments. Several properties such as concave single slit pattern and large influence of slight displacement of the emission position were different from the experimental results. In this study we tried other slit conditions and obtained consistent patterns with experiments. We do not claim that the adaptive dynamics is the principle of quantum mechanics, but the present results support the probability of adaptive dynamics as the candidate of the basis of quantum mechanics. We discuss the advantages of the adaptive dynamical view for foundations of quantum mechanics.
