Having been a seemingly unreachable ideal for decades,3-D full-waveform inversion applied to massive seismic datasets has become reality in recent *** achieving unprecedented resolution,it has provided new insight into the structure of the Earth,from the upper few metres of soil to the entire *** by these successes,the technology is now being translated to medical ultrasound and non-destructive *** remarkable progress,the computational cost of fullwaveform inversion continues to be a major *** limits the amount of data that can be exploited,and it largely inhibits quantitative and comprehensive uncertainty *** notes complement a presentation on recent developments in full-waveform inversion that are intended to reduce computational cost and assimilate more data,thereby improving tomographic *** suite of strategies includes flexible and user-friendly spectral-element simulations,the design of wavefieldadapted meshes that harness prior information on wavefield geometry,dynamic mini-batch optimisation that naturally takes advantage of data redundancies,and collaborative multi-scale updating to jointly constrain crustal and mantle structure.

In contrast to the solutions of applied mathematics to Zeno’s paradoxes, I focus on the concept of motion and show that, by distinguishing two different forms of motion, Zeno’s apparent paradoxes are not paradoxical at all. Zeno’s paradoxes indirectly prove that distances are not composed of extensionless points and, in general, that a higher dimension cannot be completely composed of lower ones. Conversely, lower dimensions can be understood as special cases of higher dimensions. To illustrate this approach, I consider Cantor’s only apparent proof that the real numbers are uncountable. However, his widely accepted indirect proof has the disadvantage that it depends on whether there is another way to make the real numbers countable. Cantor rightly assumes that there can be no smallest number between 0 and 1, and therefore no beginning of counting. For this reason he arbitrarily lists the real numbers in order to show with his diagonal method that this list can never be complete. The situation is different if we start with the largest number between 0 and 1 (0.999…) and use the method of an inverted triangle, which can be understood as a special fractal form. Here we can construct a vertical and a horizontal stratification with which it is actually possible to construct all real numbers between 0 and 1 without exception. Each column is infinite, and each number in that column is the starting point of a new triangle, while each row is finite. Even in a simple sine curve, we experience finiteness with respect to the y-axis and infinity with respect to the x-axis. The first parts of this article show that Zeno’s assumptions contradict the concept of motion as such, so it is not surprising that this misconstruction leads to contradictions. In the last part, I discuss Cantor’s diagonal method and explain the method of an inverted triangle that is internally structured like a fractal by repeating this inverted triangle at each column. Background:It is well known that stretch training can induce prolonged increases in joint range of motion(ROM).However,to date more information is needed regarding which training variables might have greater influence on improvements in ***,the purpose of this metaanalysis was to investigate the effects of stretch training on ROM in healthy participants by considering potential moderating variables,such as stretching technique,intensity,duration,frequency,and muscles stretched,as well as sex-specific,age-specific,and/or trained state-specific adaptations to stretch ***:We searched through PubMed,scopus,Web of science,and sportDiscus to find eligible studies and,finally,assessed the results from 77 studies and 186 effect sizes by applying a random-effect ***,by applying a mixed-effect model,we performed the respective subgroup *** find potential relationships between stretch duration or age and effect sizes,we performed a ***:We found a significant overall effect,indicating that stretch training can increase ROM with a moderate effect compared to the controls(effect size=-1.002;Z=-12.074;95%confidence interval:-1.165 to-0.840;psubgroup analysis showed a significant difference between the stretching techniques(p=0.01)indicating that proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and static stretching produced greater ROM than did ballistic/dynamic ***,there was a significant effect between the sexes(p=0.04),indicating that females showed higher gains in ROM compared to ***,further moderating analysis showed no significant relation or ***:When the goal is to maximize ROM in the long term,proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation or static stretching,rather than ballistic/dynamic stretching,should be *** to consider in future research as well as sports practice is that neither volume,intensity,nor frequency of stretching were

The development of freestanding and binder-free electrode is an effective approach to perform the inherent capacity of active materials and promote the mechanism study by minimizing the interference from ***,we construct a freestanding cathode composed of Mos_(3)/PPy nanowires(NWs)deposited on porous nickel foam(NF)(Mos_(3)/PPy/NF)through electrochemical methods,which can work efficiently as sulfur-equivalent cathode material for Li-s *** structural stability of the Mos_(3)/PPy/NF cathode is greatly enhanced due to its significant tolerance to the volume expansion of Mos_(3)during the lithiation process,which we ascribe to the flexible 3D framework of PPy NWs,leading to superior cycling performance compared to the bulk-Mos_(3)/NF *** the interference of binder and carbon additives,the evolution of the chemical and electronic structure of Mo and s species during the discharge/charge was studied by X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy(XANEs).The formation of lithium polysulfides was excluded as the driving cathode reaction mechanism,suggesting the great potential of Mos_(3)as a promising sulfur-equivalent cathode material to evade the shuttle effect for Li-s *** present study successfully demonstrates the importance of structural design of freestanding electrode enhancing the cycling performances and revealing the corresponding mechanisms.

Magneto-ionics,an emerging approach to manipulate magnetism that relies on voltage-driven ion motion,holds the promise to boost energy efficiency in information technologies such as spintronic devices or future non-von Neumann computing *** this purpose,stability,reversibility,endurance,and ion motion rates need to be synergistically *** various ions,nitrogen has demonstrated superior magneto-ionic performance compared to classical species such as oxygen or ***,we show that ternary Co1−xFexN compound exhibits an unprecedented nitrogen magneto-ionic *** substitution of Co by Fe in binary CoN is shown to be favorable in terms of generated magnetization,cyclability and ion motion ***,the Co_(0.3)5Fe_(0.6)5N films exhibit an induced saturation magnetization of 1,500 emu/cm^(3),a magneto-ionic rate of 35.5 emu/(cm^(3)·s)and endurance exceeding 103 *** values significantly surpass those of other existing nitride and oxide *** improvement can be attributed to the larger saturation magnetization of Co_(0.35)Fe_(0.65) compared to individual Co and Fe,the nature and size of structural defects in as-grown films of different composition,and the dissimilar formation energies of Fe and Co with N in the various developed crystallographic structures.

BACKGROUND Early diagnosis is key to prevent bowel damage in inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Risk factor analyses linked with delayed diagnosis in European IBD patients are scarce and no data in German IBD patients *** To identify risk factors leading to prolonged diagnostic time in a German IBD *** Between 2012 and 2022,430 IBD patients from four Berlin hospitals were enrolled in a prospective study and asked to complete a 16-item questionnaire to determine features of the path leading to IBD *** diagnostic time was defined as the time from symptom onset to consulting a physician(patient waiting time)and from first consultation to IBD diagnosis(physician diagnostic time).Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify risk factors for each time *** The total diagnostic time was significantly longer in Crohn’s disease(CD)compared to ulcerative colitis(UC)patients(12.0 vs 4.0 mo;Psed physician diagnostic time(5.5 vs 1.0 mo;Psis,the predominant symptoms diarrhea(P=0.012)and skin lesions(P=0.028)as well as performed gastroscopy(P=0.042)were associated with longer physician diagnostic time in CD *** UC,fever was correlated(P=0.020)with shorter physician diagnostic time,while fatigue(P=0.011)and positive family history(P=0.046)were correlated with longer physician diagnostic *** We demonstrated that CD patients compared to UC are at risk of long diagnostic *** efforts should focus on shortening the diagnostic delay for a better outcome in these patients.
