AIM：To r.por. foveal thickness r.duction in eyes with r.solution of macular.edema and r.cover. of a foveal depr.ssion after.one-year.of anti-vascular.endothelial gr.wth factor.anti-VEGF） ther.py for.center.involving diabetic macular.edema（DME）.METHODS：Foveal thickness was assessed with optical coher.nce tomogr.phy to deter.ine the centr.l subfield foveal thickness（CSFT） and macular.volume in 42 eyes with DME（CSFT〉275 μm）. Evaluations also included measur.ment of best-cor.ected visual acuity（BCVA）, and wer. per.or.ed at baseline, and upon foveal depr.ssion r.cover. achieved after.12 monthly intr.vitr.al injections of either.1.5 mg/0.06 mL bevacizumab（n=21） or.0.5 mg/0.05 mL r.nibizumab（n=21）. Data was compar.d to 42 eyes of nor.ally sighted, non-diabetic, healthy individuals with similar.age, gender.and r.ce ***：Mean baseline BCVA was 0.59±0.04 and 0.32± 0.03 log MAr.P〈0.001） after.tr.atment and r.solution of DME, with all, but 3 eyes, showing BCVA impr.vement. Mean CSFT befor. tr.atment was 422.0±20.0 μm, and after.tr.atment, decr.ased to 241.6±4.6 μm（P〈0.001）, which is significantly thinner.than CSFT found in contr.l subjects（272.0±3.4 μm; P〈0.001）. Mor.over. in 33/42 DM eyes（79%）, CSTF was thinner.than the matched contr.l eye. Macular.volume showed compar.ble r.sults, but with lower.differ.nces between gr.ups（contr.l：8.5±0.4 mm^3; DME：8.2±1.0 mm^3; P=0.0267）.CONCLUSION：DME eyes show significantly lower.foveal thickness than matched contr.ls after.DME r.solution achieved with one-year.anti-VEGF ther.py. Fur.her.investigation into the r.asonsfor.this pr.sumable r.tinal atr.phy using fluor.scein angiogr.phy and functional par.meter. as well as establishing possible pr.dictor. is war.anted. This finding should be consider.d dur.ng the tr.atment of DME.

Physiological Quality of Pigeonpea Seed after.Application of Desiccant Her.icides

The pr.-har.est application of her.icides may impair.seed quality. This way, this paper.was conducted to evaluate the effects of the application of desiccant her.icides on the physiological quality of pigeonpea seeds. Six batches of seeds fr.m plants desiccated with glyphosate wer. evaluated at doses: 1.125 (B1), 1.5 (B2) and 1.875 L·ha-1 (B3);and Gr.mocil (20% Par.quat + 10% Diur.m) at doses: 1.5 (B4) and 2 L·ha-1 (B5), and a contr.l which r.ceived no application (B6). Seed viability was assessed thr.ugh the ger.ination standar. test, and vigor.thr.ugh the fir.t ger.ination count, acceler.ted aging, electr.cal conductivity, seedling length, seedling dr. matter.and biomass density tests. The exper.mental design was the completely r.ndomized, with four.r.plications. Data wer. submitted to var.ance analysis, and when significant effects wer. obser.ed, the scott- Knott test was car.ied out at 5% pr.bability using the SISVAr.5.1 softwar.. The r.sults showed that: a) the application of 1.875 L·ha-1 of glyphosate was har.ful to pigeonpea seed viability and vigor. evaluated thr.ugh the acceler.ted aging test;b) applications of glyphosate in a 1.875 L·ha-1 dose and Gr.mocil in 2 L·ha-1 r.sulted in low vigor.accor.ing to the electr.cal conductivity test of seeds;and c) the seed vigor.measur.d by the fir.t count, seedling length, seedling dr. matter.and biomass density test was not influenced by the type of desiccant applied.
