Temperature is a key factor that shapes the distribution of *** knowledge about how species respond to temperature is relevant to devise strategies for addressing the impacts of climate *** insects are particularly vulnerable to climate change,yet there is still much to learn about their ecology and *** the Yungas ecoregion of Northwestern Argentina,cold-and warm-adapted species of the orders Ephemeroptera,Plecoptera,and Trichoptera(EPT)are segregated by *** modeled the ecological niche of South American EPT species in this region using available data and projected their potential distribution in geographic *** were grouped based on their ecogeographic similarity,and we analyzed their replacement pattern along elevation gradients,focusing on the ecotone where opposing thermal preferences *** this interface,we identified critical points where the combined incidence of cold and warm assemblages maximizes,indicating a significant transition *** found that the Montane Cloud Forest holds the interface,with a particularly greater suitability at its lower *** main axis of the interface runs in a N-S direction and falls between 14°C-16°C mean annual *** probability of a particular location within a basin being classified as part of the interface increases as Kira’s warmth index approaches a score around *** the interface is critical for defining the thermal limits of species distribution and designing biomonitoring *** in the location of thermal constants related to mountainous ecotones may cause vertical displacement of aquatic insects and vegetation *** have recognized significant temperature thresholds that serve as indicators of suitability for the *** global warming is anticipated to shift these indicators,we suggest using them to monitor the imprints of climate change on mountain ecosystems.

We report a molecular modeling paradigm to describe silica polymerization reactions in aqueous solutions at conditions that are representative of realistic experimental processes like biosilicification or porous silica synthesis–*** close to ambient temperatures and over a wide range of *** key point is to describe the Si-O-Si chemical bond formation and breakage processes through a continuous potential with a balance between attractive and repulsive interactions between suitably placed virtual sites and sticky *** simplicity of the model,its applicability in standard parallelized molecular dynamics codes,and its compatibility with the widely used MARTINI coarse-grained force-field allows for the study of systems containing millions of atoms over microsecond time *** model is calibrated to match experimental results for the temporal evolution of silica polymerization in aqueous solution close to the isoelectric point,and can describe silica polymerization and self-assembly processes during encapsulation of a surfactant micelle.

The roots of the vegetal Curcuma due to its high content of polyphenols,has been used successfully in several clinical *** review assessed the effect of curcumin/Curcuma longa on symptoms and metabolic changes in inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).A systematic review of animal models and randomized clinical trials(RCTs)was conducted by searching the following electronic databases:PubMed,CENTRAl,lIlACS,Science Direct,and *** 997 found records,62 were *** than 90%of the animal studies reported an improvement in macroscopic,histologic and/or functional activity;80%identified decreased oxidative and/or inflammatory biomarkers in animals treated with *** the RCTs,intention-to-treat analysis showed that oral curcumin was effective in inducing clinical remission(n=281,RR:3.15 CI 95%[1.22–8.10]p=0.0017;i2=72.2%,p=0.006)and clinical response(n=259,RR:1.60 CI 95%[1.09–2.35]p=0.0017;i2=59.7%,p=0.042)but not endoscopic remission(n=161,RR:2.91 CI 95%[0.58–14.58]p=0.195;i2=72.7%,p=0.026).These results confirm that oral supplementation with curcumin/Curcuma longa has beneficial actions in animal colitis and,when associated with drug therapy,is effective in the treatment of patients with IBD.

Eosinophilic esophagitis is an immune-allergic pathology of multifactorial etiology(genetic and environmental)that affects both pediatric and adult *** symptoms,which include heartburn,regurgitation,and esophageal stenosis(with dysphagia being more frequent in eosinophilic esophagitis in young adults and children),are similar to those of gastroesophageal reflux disease,causing delays in diagnosis and *** endoscopic findings such as furrows,esophageal mucosa trachealization,and whitish exudates may suggest its presence,this diagnosis should be confirmed histologically based on the presence of more than 15 eosinophils per high-power field and the exclusion of other causes of eosinophilia(parasitic infections,hypereosinophilic syndrome,inflammatory bowel disease,among others)for which treatment could be ***,the 3“D”s(“Drugs,Diet,and Dilation”)are considered the fundamental components of *** first 2 components,which involve the use of proton pump inhibitors,corticosteroids,immunosuppressants and empirical diets or guided food elimination based on allergy tests,are more useful in the initial phases,whereas endoscopic dilation is reserved for esophageal ***,the most important aspects of eosinophilic esophagitis pathophysiology will be reviewed,in addition to evidence for the various treatments.
