Preparation and Characterization of Flexible, Transparent and Thermally stable Aromatic Co-polyamides

Two aromatic co-polyamides were synthesized combining two diacid monomers containing bulky pendant groups, 5-(9,10-dihydro-9,10-ethanoanthracene-11,12-dicarboximido)isophthalic acid(DEAIA) and 5-tert-butylisophthalic acid(TERT), with 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)dianiline(HFA) or 2,3,5,6-tetramethyl-1,4-phenylenediamine(Durene) by direct polycondensation. The structures of the obtained aromatic co-polyamides were confirmed by FTIR, Raman and 1 H-nMR. The co-copolyamide films, DHTH and DDTD, exhibited rms-roughness values between 0.94 and 1.60 nm, respectively. Moreover, they presented good thermal stability up to300 °C. Young's moduli of the co-polyamide films were between 4.1 and 4.3 GPa. X-ray diffraction results showed that the co-polyamide films were amorphous due to the incorporation of both bulky pendant groups, tert-butyl and dibenzobarrelene. The combination of bulky pendant groups provided intrinsically transparent co-polyamide films with a transmittance higher than 88% in the range of 400-780 *** to these outstanding film and optical properties, they are suggested to be flexible substrates in applications for solar cell and other portable electronic devices.

.Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) is a powerful technique to grow thin films. Oxides, Magnetics and superconducting materials have been obtained by PLD and theirs properties are strongly dependent of deposition parameters. The construction of a simple and cheap PLD system that is suitable for growing various thin films, including magnetic materials, controlling some deposition parameters is presented. The design characteristics and construction are presented for each one of the devices that compose this PLD system. The equipment has the possibility of carrying out films deposition using up to five targets under controlled atmosphere and substrate temperature. The system also allows controlling the cool off sample time after growing up films at high temperatures. A wide range of relative speeds between target and substrate axial rotation can be externally controlled. With the configuration and the dimensions adopted in their construction, a PLD system of great experimental flexibility is achieved, at a very low cost regarding the commercial systems. To evaluate their performance and effectiveness, the deposition characteristics of a BaFe12O19 film on (0001) sapphire substrate is presented.

Background:The aim of this in vitro study was to compare side-by-side two models of human bilayered tissue-engineered skin substitutes(hbTEsss)designed for the treatment of severely burned *** are the scaffold-free self-assembled skin substitute(sAss)and the human plasma-based skin substitute(HPss).Methods:Fibroblasts and keratinocytes from three humans were extracted from skin biopsies(n=3)and cells from the same donor were used to produce both hbTEss *** sAss manu-facture,keratinocytes were seeded over three self-assembled dermal sheets comprising fibroblasts and the extracellular matrix they produced(n=12),while for HPss production,keratinocytes were cultured over hydrogels composed of fibroblasts embedded in either plasma as unique biomaterial(Fibrin),plasma combined with hyaluronic acid(Fibrin-HA)or plasma combined with collagen(Fibrin-Col)(n/biomaterial=9).The production time was 46-55 days for sAsss and 32-39 days for *** were characterized by histology,mechanical testing,PrestoBlue™-assay,immunofluorescence(Ki67,Keratin(K)10,K15,K19,Loricrin,type iv collagen)and Western blot(type I and iv collagens).Results:The sAsss were more resistant to tensile forces(p-valuess elastic(p-valuesss.A higher number of proliferative Ki67+cells were found in sAsss although their metabolic activity was *** epidermal differentiation,no significant difference was observed in the expression of K10,K15,K19 and ***,the production of type I and type iv collagens and the adhesive strength of the dermal-epidermal junction was higher in ***:This study demonstrates,for the first time,that both hbTEss models present similar in vitro biological ***,mechanical properties differ and future in vivo experiments will aim to compare their wound healing potential.

子宫黏液样平滑肌肉瘤是一种罕见且具侵袭性的恶性肿瘤,易误诊为良性,目前遗传学改变尚不明确。作者选取19例既往诊断为子宫黏液样平滑肌肉瘤或具有黏液样特征的平滑肌肉瘤,分析其临床病理、免疫表型及分子学特征。该系列肿瘤均进行RnA测序,并通过免疫组化标记BCOR、PLAG1和ALK(D5F3)和FIsH检测PLAG1、BCOR、BCORL1、HMGA2和ALK基因,排除4例伴BCOR和ALK重排的黏液样肿瘤。剩余15例确诊为黏液样平滑肌肉瘤。患者中位年龄为50岁,其中8例FIGO分期分别为I期(3例)、II期(2例)、Ⅲ(2例)和Ⅳ(1例);另7例分期情况不明。肿瘤直径为10~24 cm,所有病例肿瘤基质均呈黏液样,其中2例伴嗜酸性。肿瘤细胞呈梭形或上皮样形,细胞核伴轻至重度异型,核分裂数s1-PLAG1或RAD51B-PLAG1基因融合,且经FIsH证实存在PLAG1重排;而有无PLAG1基因融合患者,其组织学特征上并无差异。

AIMTo analyze the diagnostic yield (DY), therapeutic impact (TI) and safety of capsule endoscopy (CE).METHODsThis is a multi-centre, observational, analytical, retrospective study. A total of 163 patients with suspicion of celiac disease (CD) (mean age = 46.4 ± 17.3 years, 68.1% women) who underwent CE from 2003 to 2015 were included. Patients were divided into four groups: seronegative CD with atrophy (Group-I, n = 19), seropositive CD without atrophy (Group-II, n = 39), contraindication to gastroscopy (Group-III, n = 6), seronegative CD without atrophy, but with a compatible context (Group-iv, n = 99). DY, TI and the safety of CE were *** overall DY was 54% and the final diagnosis was villous atrophy (n = 65, 39.9%), complicated CD (n = 12, 7.4%) and other enteropathies (n = 11, 6.8%; 8 Crohn’s). DY for groups I to iv was 73.7%, 69.2%, 50% and 44.4%, respectively. Atrophy was located in duodenum in 24 cases (36.9%), diffuse in 19 (29.2%), jejunal in 11 (16.9%), and patchy in 10 cases (15.4%). Factors associated with a greater DY were positive serology (68.3% vs 49.2%, P = 0.034) and older age (P = 0.008). On the other hand, neither sex nor clinical presentation, family background, positive histology or HLA status were associated with DY. CE results changed the therapeutic approach in 71.8% of the cases. Atrophy was associated with a greater TI (92.3% vs 45.3%, P nd 81.9% of the patients responded to diet. There was one case of capsule retention (0.6%). Agreement between CE findings and subsequent histology was 100% for diagnosing normal/other conditions, 70% for suspected CD and 50% for complicated *** has a high DY in cases of suspicion of CD and it leads to changes in the clinical course of the disease. CE is safe procedure with a high degree of concordance with histology and it helps in the differential diagnosis of CD.
