Dear Editor,I nternal limiting membrane(ILM)peeling with gas tamponade has been the preferred surgical technique for the macular hole treatment[1-2].Eckardt et al[1]achieved a complete closure of 92%of the macular ***,the procedure involves peeling of ILM from the macula using a microvitreoretinal blade with an intraocular forceps 500 mm superior to the hole,removal of membranes and releasing the traction around the macular *** a macular epiretinal membrane(ERM)is present,it should be peeled during the surgery[1-2].

Hexavalent chromium [Cr(Ⅵ)] is a toxic oxidized form and an important metal pollutant in the water bodies. Biosorption of chromium(VI)offers a potential alternative to conventional metal removal methods. Dried biomass of Chlorella vulgaris was used as biosorbent for the removal of Cr(VI) from electroplating and galvanizing industry effluents as a function of biosorbent dosage, contact time, pH, salinity and initial metal ion concentration. Batch experiments were conducted for biosorption and the optimum conditions were 1 g/L biomass, 4 h contact time, pH 2 and 2.893 ms/cm of electrical conductivity. The chromium biosorption was strictly pH dependent with a maximum Cr removal of 63.2 mg/L at pH 2. Highest Cr removal at a concentration of 81.3 mg/L was observed at Electrical conductivity(EC) value of 2.893 ms/cm. A comparison of Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models revealed that Freundlich isotherm model fitted the experimental data based on R^2, q_(max) and standard error values. The results suggest that C. vulgaris biomass could be considered a promising low-cost biosorbent for the removal of Cr(VI) from electroplating and galvanizing industry effluents.

Ataxia telangiectasia (AT) is a rare human disease characterized by extreme cellular sensitivity to radiation and a predisposition to cancer, with a hallmark of onset in early childhood. several human diseases also share similar symptoms with AT albeit with different degrees of severity and different associated disorders. While all AT patients contain mutations in the AT-mutated gene (ATM), most other AT-like disorders are defective in genes encoding an MRN protein complex consisting of Mre11, Rad50 and Nbs1. Both ATM and MRN function as cellular sensors to DNA double-strand breaks, which lead to the recruitment and phosphorylation of an array of substrate proteins involved in DNA repair, apoptosis and cell-cycle cbeckpoints, as well as gene regulation, translation initiation and telomere maintenance. ATM is a member of the family of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-like protein kinases (PIKK), and the discovery of many ATM substrates provides the underlying mechanisms of heterologous symptoms among AT patients. This review article focuses on recent findings related to the initial recognition of double-strand breaks by ATM and MRN, as well as a DNA-dependent protein kinase complex consisting of the heterodimer Ku70/Ku80 and its catalytic subunit DNA-PKcs, another member of PIKK. This possible interaction suggests that a much greater complex is involved in sensing, transducing and co-ordinating cellular events in response to genome instability.

In 2018,1.76 million people worldwide died of lung *** of these deaths are due to late diagnosis,and early-stage diagnosis significantly increases the likelihood of a successful treatment for lung *** learning is a branch of artificial intelligence that allows computers to quickly identify patterns within complex and large datasets by learning from existing ***-learning techniques have been improving rapidly and are increasingly used by medical professionals for the successful classification and diagnosis of early-stage *** are widely used in cancer *** particular,machine learning has been used in the diagnosis of lung cancer due to the benefits it offers doctors and *** this context,we performed a study on machine-learning techniques to increase the classification accuracy of lung cancer with 32×56 sized numerical data from the Machine Learning Repository web site of the University of California,*** this study,the precision of the classification model was increased by the effective employment of pre-processing methods instead of direct use of classification *** datasets were derived with pre-processing methods and six machine-learning classification methods were used to achieve this *** study results suggest that the accuracy of the k-nearest neighbors algorithm is superior to random forest,naïve Bayes,logistic regression,decision tree,and support vector *** performance of pre-processing methods was assessed on the lung cancer *** most successful preprocessing methods were Z-score(83%accuracy)for normalization methods,principal component analysis(87%accuracy)for dimensionality reduction methods,and information gain(71%accuracy)for feature selection methods.

Dehghan and Hajarian, [4], investigated the matrix equations A^TXB＋B^TX^TA = C and A^TXB ＋ B^TXA = C providing inequalities for the determinant of the solutions of these equations. In the same paper, the authors presented a lower bound for the product of the eigenvalues of the solutions to these matrix equations. Inspired by their work, we give some generalizations of Dehghan and Hajarian results. Using the theory of the numerical ranges, we present an inequality involving the trace of C when A, B, X are normal matrices satisfying A^T B = BA^T.

Verard et el. （2015, Journal of Palaeogeography, 4（1 ）： 64-84） claim that their global geodynamic model allows one to reconstruct the surface features of topography on rand and in adjacent oceans （i.e., pateobathymetry） anywhere on the gtobe and at any geological time during the past 600 miltion years （Ma）. such a grand model requires a rigorous scrutiny. The purpose of this discussion is to illustrate that the modet suffers from （1） the selective omission of real-world datasets that do not fit the model, （2） the inclusion of datasets without revealing their original sources or without citing relevant peer-reviewed publications, （3） the emphasis on ＇unpublished＇ internal company datasets that disallow open access to the international scientific community, and （4） the use of poorly understood concepts without providing the basic conceptual clarity. These deficiencies undermine the credibility of the heuristic modet.

The default scheduler of Apache Hadoop demonstrates operational inefficiencies when connecting external sources and processing transformation *** paper has proposed a novel scheduler for enhancement of the performance of the Hadoop Yet Another Resource Negotiator(YARN)scheduler,called the Adaptive Node and Container Aware scheduler(ANACRAC),that aligns cluster resources to the demands of the applications in the real *** approach performs to leverage the user-provided configurations as a unique design to apportion nodes,or containers within the nodes,to application ***,it provides the flexibility to the applications for selecting and choosing which node’s resources they want to manage and adds limits to prevent threshold breaches by adding additional jobs as *** or container awareness can be utilized individually or in combination to increase *** top of this,the resource availability within the node and containers can also be *** paper also focuses on the elasticity of the containers and self-adaptiveness depending on the job *** results proved that 15%–20%performance improvement was achieved compared with the node and container awareness feature of the *** has been validated that this ANACRAC scheduler demonstrates a 70%–90%performance improvement compared with the default Fair *** results also demonstrated the success of the enhancement and a performance improvement in the range of 60%to 200%when applications were connected with external interfaces and high workloads.

Rainfall erosivity is defined as the potential of rain to cause *** has great potential for application in studies related to natural disasters,in addition to water *** objectives of this study were:ⅰ)to model the Rday using a seasonal model for the Mountainous Region of the state of Rio de Janeiro(MRRJ);ⅱ)to adjust thresholds of the Rday index based on catastrophic events which occurred in the last two decades;andⅲ)to map the maximum daily rainfall erosivity(Rmaxday)to assess the region's suscepti-bility to rainfall hazards according to the established Rday *** fitted Rday model presented a satisfactory result,thereby enabling its application as a Rday estimate in *** that resulted in Rday>1500 MJ ***-1 were those with the highest number of *** spatial distribution of Rmaxday showed that the entire MRRJ has presented values that can cause major *** Rday index proved to be a promising indicator of rainfall disasters,which is more effective than those normally used that are only based on quantity(mm)and/or intensity(mm.h-1)of the rain.
