The aim of this study was to evaluate the resolution of brain lesions in patients with Wilson’s disease during the long-term chelating therapy using magnetic resonance imaging and a possible signiifcance of the time latency between the initial symptoms of the disease and the introduction of this therapy. Initial magnetic resonance examination was performed in 37 patients with proven neurological form of Wilson’s disease with cerebellar, parkinsonian and dystonic presentation. Magnetic resonance reexamination was done 5.7 ± 1.3 years later in 14 patients. Patients were divided into： group A, where chelating therapy was initiated 〈 24 months from the ifrst symp-toms and group b, where the therapy started≥ 24 months after the initial symptoms. Symmetry of the lesions was seen in 100% of patients. There was a signiifcant difference between groups A and b regarding complete resolution of brain stem and putaminal lesions （P= 0.005 andP=0.024, respectively）. If the correct diagnosis and adequate treatment are not established less than 24 months after onset of the symptoms, irreversible lesions in the brain parenchyma could be ex-pected. Signal abnormalities on magnetic resonance imaging might therefore, at least in the early stages, represent reversible myelinolisis or cytotoxic edema associated with copper toxicity.

Periodically ordered ZnO nanowire arrays were fabricated by a combination of soft templates created by electron beam lithography and an electrochemical process. Individual ZnO nanowires were precisely placed in desired locations to form two-dimensional periodic structures with specific patterns. Scanning electron microscopy and light diffraction measurements confirmed the long-range ordered structures in the nanowire arrays. Variable temperature photoluminescence revealed both band edge and defect emissions. The obtained photonic structures may have potential applications in optical and optoelectronic devices.

Previous studies suggest that the storage/retrieval of object features is related to brain regions that are involved in the processing of these ***,it remains unclear whether,and under what conditions,retrieving information about a feature reactivates the same region that specifically supports that feature’s *** this functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) study,we compared brain activation in the left ventral occipito-temporal cortex during subjects performing a color perception task,and direct and indirect color retrieval *** performing the color perception task to localize the regions responsible for color perception,subjects were intensively trained(outside of the scanner) to remember associations between colors and motion directions,and associations between colors and ***,they were asked to perform two color retrieval tasks in the scanner,with stationary and gray scaled images as control *** results showed that the bilateral posterior occipito-temporal cortex was activated during the color perception *** color information was retrieved by direct cues(motion direction),the same bilateral occipito-temporal region was activated. When color information was retrieved indirectly(judging whether a motion direction matched a letter by their associated colors),a region anterior to the color perception region in the left ventral occipito-temporal cortex was additionally *** results provided evidence for the functional dissociation in the two subregions of the ventral occipito-temporal cortex during retrieval of color features: the posterior area might relate to perceptual features of color,while the anterior region might relate to the knowledge of associations with color.

Threehundred sixty-four patients with confirmed cirrhosis, who underwent a total of1044 EGDs for the indication of esophageal variceal screening or surveillance,were identified. During the same period, 519 control patients without liverdisease, who underwent a total of 881 EGDs for the indication of anemia, wereidentified. The presence of retained food on EGD was used as a surrogate fordelayed gastric emptying. The relative frequency of delayed gastric emptyingamong cirrhotics was compared to non-cirrhotics. Introduction: Rabies, a neglected disease, could be grossly underreported in the DRC;in the absence of post-exposure prophylaxis, the WHO estimates that this disease would cause 327,000 deaths per year in Africa and Asia. The objective of this study is to determine the epidemiological profile of this zoonosis in order to encourage decision-makers to develop national strategies for its elimination. Materials and Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study. Data collection was done retrospectively and in total6 420 victims of bites received during the period between January 2005 and December 2015 at the anti-rabies center in Lubumbashi were included in this work. Excel 13 software and Epi info 3.3.4 were used for data analysis and interpretation. Results: People over the age of 15 are the main victims of canine bites (62.1%), more than half of the victims are male (55.9%);dogs represent the majority of biting animals (96.4%) of which around 3/4 are unvaccinated (71.37%). Two municipalities are more affected: Lubumbashi (prevalence 83.35/100,000 and Kampemba (Prevalence 51.74/100,000). Lbite peaks were observed from July to October (p = 0.01). For the 34 people seen with clinical signs of rabies encephalitis (confirmed case of rabies), the case fatality rate was 100%. Conclusion: Rabies is a major problem in Lubumbashi but its extent is different depending on the municipality. The dog is the main biting animal and the vaccination coverage of dogs remains very low. Access to rabies vaccine for bite victims is difficult. Its elimination remains possible through the implementation of an extensive canine vaccination program, the awareness of owners and the large-scale provision of post-exposure prophylaxis.

基于Eulerian-Eulerian方法和体积元平均技术,建立了模拟等轴球晶凝固过程的液、固、气三相流模型．液、固两相处理成相互分离、相互扩散的介质,气相与液、固两相只存在热量及动量的相互作用,三相(凝固前)作为自由流体共享一个统一的压力场．分别求解三相的质量、动量、溶质、热焓守恒方程;相间的热量交换和摩擦拖拽以及液／固界面上的溶质再分配和凝固潜热释放,通过定义对应守恒方程的源项和交换项而加以考虑;另外,单独求解一个晶粒密度守恒方程．晶粒的形核生长(相变) 也加以模型化并体现在对应的源项中,模型中所用的密度定义为溶质与温度的函数,因此可综合考虑热溶质对流、晶粒运动及凝固收缩所引起的补缩流动．凝固过程的体积收缩及补缩流动将体现在气／液自由表面的波动上．
