In many species, males signal quality with elaborate traits, but females often show inter-individual variation in pref ere nee for these traits. choosi ng a mate requires multiple cog nitive steps;therefore, cog nitive style (how an in dividual processes information) likely in fluences the perception of sexual signals and ability to choose a high-quality mate. An important component of cognitive style is flexibility;cognitively flexible individuals are more perceptive to shifts in cues. We hypothesized that cognitively flexible individuals would acquire more information about potential mates, better discern between two quality-signaling traits, and thus be more discriminatory. Here, we show that mate assessment is correlated to other cognitive traits. Although we did not detect an effect of cogn itive style on mate pref ere nee or discriminatio n, we found that female threespi ne sticklebacks Gasterosteus aculeatus that spent more time assessing potential mates (more responsive) in a dichotomous mate choice task reached both the initial and reversal learning criterion in a spatial learning task with fewer errors. However, these highly responsive females made more consecutive mistakes immediately at the beginning of the reversal phase, suggest!ng that they did not quickly adapt to the en vironmental cha nge but in stead rapidly formed strict routi nes duri ng the learning task that were eventually reversible after repeated errors. Furthermore, we found evidenee for condition-dependent mate pref ere nee, with larger females preferring the high-quality male. These are among the first results that illustrate how cog nitive traits might in flue nee mate choice, which has implicati ons for the st re ngth and di recti on of sexual selection.

The sensitive data stored in the public cloud by privileged users,such as corporate companies and government agencies are highly vulnerable in the hands of cloud providers and *** proposed Virtual cloud Storage Archi-tecture is primarily concerned with data integrity and conﬁdentiality,as well as *** provide conﬁdentiality and availability,theﬁle to be stored in cloud storage should be encrypted using an auto-generated key and then encoded into distinct *** the encoded chunks ensured theﬁle integrity,and a newly proposed circular Shift chunk Allocation technique was used to determine the order of chunk ***ﬁle could be retrieved by performing the opera-tions in *** the regenerating code,the model could regenerate the missing and corrupted chunks from the *** proposed architecture adds an extra layer of security while maintaining a reasonable response time and sto-rage *** results analysis show that the proposed model has been tested with storage space and response time for storage and *** VcSA model consumes 1.5x(150%)storage *** was found that total storage required for the VcSA model is very low when compared with 2x Replication and completely satisﬁes the cIA *** response time VcSA model was tested with different sizedﬁles starting from 2 to 16 *** response time for storing and retrieving a 2 mBﬁle is 4.96 and 3.77 s respectively,and for a 16 mBﬁle,the response times are 11.06 s for storage and 5.6 s for retrieval.

background While diffuse atherosclerotic disease affecting the posterior circulation has been described extensively,the prevalence,natural history and angiographic characteristics of isolated symptomatic basilar artery stenosis(ISBAS)remain *** We reviewed our prospective institutional database to identify patients with≥50% symptomatic basilar artery(BA)stenosis without significant atherosclerotic burden in the vertebral or posterior cerebral *** mechanism,collateral circulation,and degree and length of stenosis were *** primary outcome was time from index event to new transient ischaemic attack(TIA),acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)or *** outcome variables included modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score on discharge and last *** Of 6369 patients with AIS/TIA,91(1.43%)had ***-three(80.2%)patients presented with AIS and 18(19.8%)with ***-nine(31.9%)were women and the median age was 66.8±13.6 *** mean follow-up time was 2.7 *** most common stroke mechanism was artery-to artery thromboembolism(45.2%),followed by perforator occlusion(28.7%)and flow-dependent/hypoperfusion(15.1%).The percentage of stenosis was lower in patients who had favourable outcome compared with those with mRS 3-6 on discharge(78.3±14.3 vs 86.9±14.5,p=0.007).Kaplan-meier curves showed higher recurrence/death rates in patients with≥80% stenosis,mid-basilar location and poor collateral *** 13% of patients with ISBAS presented with complete BA *** ISBAS is an uncommon(1.43%)cause of TIA and *** in their 60s are mostly affected,and artery-to artery embolism is the most common stroke ***-basilar location,≥80% stenosis and poor collateral circulation are important factors associated with worse prognosis.

many schemes have been proposed to define a model-independent con- straint on cosmological dynamics, such as the nonparametric dark energy equation of state ω（z） or the deceleration parameter q（z）. These methods usually contain deriva- tives with respect to observational data with noise. However, there can be large un- certainties when one estimates values with numerical differentiation, especially when noise is significant. We introduce a global numerical differentiation method, first for- mulated by Reinsch, which is smoothed by cubic spline functions, and apply it to the estimation of the transition redshift zt with a simulated expansion rate E（z） based on observational Hubble parameter data. We also discuss some deficiencies and limita-tions of this method.

Improving the network interface performance is needed by the demand of applications with high communication requirements （for example, some multimedia, real-time, and high-performance computing applications）, and the availability of network links providing multiple gigabits per second bandwidths that could require many processor cycles for communication tasks. multicore architectures, the current trend in the microprocessor development to cope with the difficulties to further increase clock frequencies and microarchitecture efficiencies, provide new opportunities to exploit the parallelism available in the nodes for designing efficient communication architectures. Nevertheless, although present OS network stacks include multiple threads that make it possible to execute network tasks concurrently in the kernel, the implementations of packet-based or connection-based parallelism are not trivial as they have to take into account issues related with the cost of synchronization in the access to shared resources and the efficient use of caches. Therefore, a common trend in many recent researches on this topic is to assign network interrupts and the corresponding protocol and network application processing to the same core, as with this affinity scheduling it would be possible to reduce the contention for shared resources and the cache misses. In this paper we propose and analyze several configurations to distribute the network interface among the different cores available in the server. These alternatives have been devised according to the affinity of the corresponding communication tasks with the location （proximity to the memories where the different data structures are stored） and characteristics of the processing core. As this approach uses several cores to accelerate the communication path of a given connection, it can be seen as complementary to those that consider several cores to simultaneously process packets belonging to either the same or different connections.

Objective: cOVID-19 surveillance was established as early as march 2020 in the central African Republic (cAR), after the WHO statement relating to the identification of several cases outside china. However, given the non-performing molecular biology technical platform in many developing countries in sub-Saharan Africa, the second wave promised to be surprising and formidable. In this context, a mass survey was launched in Bangui to determine the prevalence of cOVID-19. Patients and methods: From march 18 to April 2, 2021, a mass screening campaign took place in tourist places, companies and the main hospital infrastructures. Nasopharyngeal swab samples were collected from participants with and without symptoms of Influenza-like illness (IlI) and stored in VTm tubes. The Ag (cOVID-19) and RT-PcR tests were carried out in Bangui at the lNBcSP. The sequencing of RT-PcR SARS-coV-2 positives was carried out at the INRB. Results: We included 1480 participants of whom 33 (2.23%) were SARS-cOV-2 positive, of whom 24 were male and 9 female. This sex difference was statistically significant (p = 0.012) as the sex ratio m/F was 1.09. Sampling sites located in the 1st arrondissement were the most prolific (p = 0.006) and were sequenced. In addition to the analysis of the 33 samples from the predefined sites under study, 17 control sequences from the provinces generated during the same period are added. We detected 2 Variants Of concern (VOc) including the predominant B.1.620 (43.86%) followed by B.1.1.7 or Alpha (5.10%). conclusion: The study showed the importance of surveillance and the availability of means of diagnosis of cOVID-19. The identified risk factors were sex and sampling site. This study has shown the importance of setting up sentinel sites for cOVID-19 surveillance in all regions of the country and the appropriate use of the anti-cOVID-19 vaccine.

为研究试件尺寸、界面过渡区(ITZ)厚度及强度、沙漠砂替代率(DSRR)对沙漠砂混凝土(DSc)经历高温后抗压强度的影响,将DSc看作三相复合材料,建立含ITZ随机分布多边形骨料有限元模型,利用ANSYS对高温后DSc单轴受压破坏过程进行数值模拟。结果表明:模拟结果与试验结果误差在-2.59%~3.13%,吻合良好。高温后DSc抗压强度随试件尺寸增大而减小,强度下降范围为1.44%~4.13%;抗压强度随ITZ厚度增加呈逐渐减小趋势;随着ITZ强度增加,抗压强度基本呈线性增大趋势;抗压强度在DSRR为40%时最优,研究结果可为DSc工程应用提供理论依据。
