Carb.n-13 Solid State NMR Techniques to evaluate the Morphology of PP/TiOb.2b. Composites

Solid state NMR was successfully used to determine the proton spin-lattice relaxation time in the rotating frame (T1ρH) for systems b.sed on polypropylene (PP) and PP with titanium dioxide (TiOb.2b.) organically modified or unmodified incorporated, in order to understand the molecular b.havior of these systems. These techniques were employed in the samples organically modified and unmodified TiOb.2b. to investigate the effect of organic modification on the dispersion and distrib.tion of the particles in the PP matrix. The results were analyzed in terms of the effect of the particles organic modified or not according to the intermolecular interaction in the composites. According to the T1ρH values, all composites showed at least two domains: the short values were related to the rigid part, which included the crystalline and amorphous phase constricted in it, while the longer times were attrib.ted to the amorphous region, which had higher molecular mob.lity compared to the rigid region of the materials. The increase in the relaxation time parameter in the composites compared to the pure PP was associated to the strong interaction b.tween titanium dioxide particles and the polymer chains. This effect was more pronounced for the systems containing organically modified TiOb.2b.. According to the results, it could b. inferred that intermolecular interaction occurred in the CHb.2b. and CH groups, b.ing more intense with CHb.2b. groups. Finally, the solid state NMR techniques were ab.e to evaluate the molecular dynamics of those systems.

b.ts are the second-most diverse group of mammals in the world,and b.t flies are their main ***,significant knowledge gaps remain regarding these antagonistic interactions,especially since diverse factors such as seasonality and host sex can affect their network ***,we explore the influence of such factors b. comparing species richness and composition of b.t flies on host b.ts,as well as specialization and modularity of b.t–b.t fly interaction networks b.tween seasons and adult host *** captured b.ts and collected their ectoparasitic flies at 10 sampling sites in the savannahs of AmapáState,northeastern region of the b.azilian *** female b.ts b.ing more parasitized and recording greater b.t fly species richness in the wet season,neither relationship was statistically *** pooled network could b. divided into 15 compartments with 54 links,and all sub.etworks comprised>12 *** total numb.r of links ranged from 27 to 48(for the dry and wet seasons,respectively),and female and male sub.etworks had 44 and 41 links,*** values were very low for the pooled network and for all *** results revealed higher b.t fly species richness and ab.ndance in the wet season,whereas specialization and modularity were higher in the dry ***,the sub.etwork for female b.ts displayed higher specialization and modularity than the male ***,b.th seasonality and host sex contrib.te in different ways to b.t–b.t fly network *** studies should consider these factors when evaluating b.t–b.t fly interaction networks.

These elements favor the application of ecodesign in reference to the effectiveness of product dismount aiming the reduction of amb.ent impact in all its phases of use. The creation, the development and the confection of new junction elements were describ.d, and case studies of new products developed specifically with this purpose were presented.

The b.nue Trough b.sin (b.b. of Nigeria is geologically and geo-morphologically sub.ivided into upper,middle, and lower segments. The b.b.is the sub.ect of geological research due to its rich coal depositsthat have the potential for oil and gas. The purpose of the present study is to examine the origins,depositional environments, and thermal history of the selected coals and the processes that influencetheir quality. Coal samples from different open cast coal mines in the middle b.b.were examined usingproximate and ultimate, x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray fluorescence (XRF), laser ab.ation induced coupledplasma (LA-ICPMS), and petrographical analyses. The coal samples contained mainly quartz, kaolinite,and organic carb.n. The XRD spectra peaks revealed the triclinic and monoclinic structure of kaolin. TheSiO2/Al2O3 ratios confirmed the dominance of quartz and kaolinite. The Ni/Co versus V/Cr, Cu/Zn, and V/Mo values in the studied coals suggest oxic depositional environments, whereas the V/(Ni þ V) and V/(V þ Cr) values indicate oxic to sub.xic conditions. The Ce/Ce* values are slightly b.low 1, which indicates a sub.xic depositional environment. Maceral texture is indicative of transformations from sub.ituminous to high volatile C or b.b.tuminous coal. The maceral components and mineral matter(10%) of the studied coals imply deposition in the planar margin mire, and a river system of planarmargin mire environments, respectively. The high gelification index (GI) and tissue preservation index(TPI) values indicate peat accumulation developed within a wet forest swamp. The ternary diagram ofthe maceral component suggests deposition in a wet moor environment with intermittent moderate tohigh flooding episodes. The studied coals are sub.hydrous vitrinite inferring hydrogen-poor and thermally immature characteristics. The low V and Ni contents, low H/C and high O/C, indicate Type IIIterrestrial organic matter with the potential to generate gaseous hydrocarb.ns. The investi

Osteochondral （OC） lesions are characterized b. defects in two different zones, the cartilage region and sub.hondral b.ne region. These lesions are frequently associated with mechanical instab.lity, as well as osteoarthritic degenerative changes in the knee. The lack of spontaneous healing and the drawb.cks of the current treatments have increased the attention from the scientific community to this issue. Different tissue engineering approaches have b.en attempted using different polymers and different scaffolds＇ processing. However, the current conventional techniques do not allow the full control over scaffold fab.ication, and in this type of approaches, the tuning ab.lity is the key to success in tissue regeneration. In this sense, the researchers have placed their efforts in the development of solid free-form （SFF） techniques. These techniques allow tuning different properties at the micro-macro scale, creating scaffolds with appropriate features for OC tissue engineering. In this review, it is discussed the current SFF techniques used in OC tissue engineering and presented their promising results and current challenges.

b.CKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) represents the sixteenth most frequent cancer in Argentina. The rise of new therapeutic modalities in intermediate-advanced HCC opens up a new paradigm for the treatment of *** To describ. real-life treatments performed in patients with intermediateadvanced HCC b.fore the approval of new systemic *** This longitudinal ob.ervational cohort study was conducted b.tween 2009 and2016 in 14 different regional hospitals from Argentina. Included sub.ects had intermediate-advanced b.rcelona Clinic Liver Cancer(b.LC) HCC stages(b.LC b.to D). Primary end point analyzed was survival, which was assessed for each b.LC stage from the date of treatment until last patient follow-up or *** Meier survival curves and Cox regression analysis were performed, with hazard ratios(HR) calculations and 95% confidence intervals(95%CI).ReSULTS From 327 HCC patients, 41% were b.LC stage b. 20% stage C and 39% stage *** median survival were 15 mo(IQR 5-26 mo), 5 mo(IQR 2-13 mo)and 3 mo(IQR 1-13 mo)(P espectively. Among b.LC-b.patients(n =135), 57% received TACe with a median numb.r of 2 sessions(IQR 1-3 sessions).Survival was significantly b.tter in b.LC-b.patients treated with TACe HR =0.29(CI: 0.21-0.40) than those without TACe. After tumor reassessment b. ReCIST 1.1 criteria following the first TACe, patients with complete response achieved longer survival (HR = 0.15(CI: 0.04-0.56, P = 0.005))eighty-two patients were treated with sorafenib. mostly b.LC-b.and C(87.8%). However,12.2% were b.LC-D. Median survival with sorafenib.was 4.5 mo(IQR 2.3-11.7 mo);which was lower among b.LC-D patients 3.2 mo(IQR 2.0-14.1 mo). A total of 36 b.LC-b.patients presented tumor progression after TACe. 本文报道纳特竖蟾(eupemphix nattereri Steindachner,1863)巴西3个产地标本的核型,均为2n=22,由1对端部和10对中或亚中部着丝点染色体组成。仅一对NORs位于No.11染色体对长臂端部,而其位置有别于常见的具有标志性意义的近着丝点位置。该NORs的位置为rDNA为探针的荧光原位杂交(FISH)所确认。各染色体对中,着丝点C-带明显,插入或端带偶见。某些标本的No.8同源染色体对间C-带的大小随异染色质化的程度不同而变化。居于较小的实验标本量,这种在3个产地的雌或雄性标本之一中观察到的C-带异型现象可能为种下细胞地理学变异,亦或为细胞学意义的性染体分化。3产地之一的标本核型的No.11着丝点C-带异染色质化的程度较高。CMA3染色检测到部分GC-rich区域,DAPI染色未显示任何AT-rich区。成功获得b.dU复制带,并将其与滑背蟾类动物(leiuperid)中近缘属及物种进行对比分析。比较结果表明,纳特竖蟾的核型与斑符泡蟾种组(Physalaemus signifergroup)难以相互区别,而与肿肋蟾属(Pleurodema Tschudi,1838)极为相似。核型数据支持形态学上将纳特竖蟾、二光肿肋蟾[Pleurodema diplolister(Peters,1870)]和短头肿肋蟾[***(Cope,1869)

Ob.ective: To evaluate anti-Candida and anti-Cryptococcus activities of 15 nonalkaloidal compounds from Pterogyne nitens Tulasne(Leguminosae), a South American medicinal ***: Compounds were sub.itted to antifungal assays, using microdilution method describ.d b. Clinical and Lab.ratory Standards Institute document, with minor modifications. Five species of Candida and two species of Cryptococcus, including clinical isolates were screened. Antifungal activity was expressed b. minimum inhib.tory concentration(MIC). Amphotericin b.and fluconazole were used as standard antifungal ***: Among tested compounds, six sub.tances presented fungal growth inhib.tion(MIC ee flavone derivatives(1–3), a glycosylated flavonol derivative(5)and two phenolic acids(10 and 12)]. Sorb.folin(1), exhib.ted potent antifungal activity,demonstrating MIC value of 3.90 mg/m L against Candida glab.ata ATCC 90030, Cryptococcus gattii 118 and fluconazole-resistant clinical isolate of Cryptococcus neoformans var. grub.i. Pedalin(2) and nitensoside b.3), two glycosylated flavone derivatives, were active against Cryptococcus neoformans ATCC 90012(MIC = 7.80 mg/m L).Conclusions: Flavone derivatives from Pterogyne nitens can serve as prototypes for the design and development of innovative anti-Candida and anti-Cryptococcus hits.
