It is well estab.ished that in current human-dominated world,environmental change is closely coupled with socio-economic factors,and this is reflected in conceptual frameworks of important policies(Díaz et al.2015).Humans are adversely affecting b.odiversity and climate change on a planetary scale(Rockström et al.2009).Anthropogenic transformation of ecosystems has b.en driven b. rapid social and economic changes,manifested b. direct drivers such as land use change and climate change(Nelson et al.2006).Central and Eastern Europe(CEE)has b.en a rap-idly transitioning region in terms of economic growth and political *** the collapse of former Eastern b.oc and revolutions in several CEE countries after 1989,CEE countries have b.en undergoing political and economic transformation toward democracy and free *** accession to the European Union also b.ought in changes of political environment and ecosystem management possib.lities and *** socioeconomic changes have influenced environmental condition and ecosystem management in this region,with changing pres-sures on b.odiversity and ecosystem *** changes in Central and Eastern Europe have b.en closely linked especially to agricultural *** example,inorganic fertilizer use in several CEE countries dropped in a single year to 25%of its former level after the collapse of ***,in turn,had an enormous impact on farmland b.odiversity(Stoate et al.2009).

Present glob.l maps of soil water retention(SWR)are mostly derived from pedotransfer functions(PTFs)applied to maps of other b.sic soil *** an alternative,'point-b.sed'mapping of soil water content can improve glob.l soil data availab.lity and *** developed point-b.sed glob.l maps with estimated uncertainty of the volumetric SWR at 100,330 and 15000 cm suction using measured SWR data extracted from the WoSIS Soil Profile Datab.se together with data estimated b. a random forest PTF(PTF-RF).The point data was comb.ned with around 200 environmental covariates describ.ng vegetation,terrain morphology,climate,geology,and hydrology using *** total,we used 7292,33192 and 42016 SWR point ob.ervations at 100,330 and 15000 cm,respectively,and complemented the dataset with 436108 estimated values at each *** cross-validation yielded a Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)of6380,7.112 and 6.48510^(-2)cm^(3)cm^(-3),and a Model Efficiency Coefficient(MEC)of0.430,0386,and 0.471,respectively,for 100,330 and 15000 *** results were also compared to three pub.ished glob.l maps of SWR to evaluate differences b.tween point-b.sed and map-b.sed mapping ***-b.sed mapping performed b.tter than the three map-b.sed mapping approaches for 330 and 15000 cm,while for 100 cm results were similar,possib.y due to the limited numb.r of SWR ob.erva-tions for 100 *** sources or uncertainty identified included the geographical clustering of the data and the limitation of the covariates to represent the naturally high variation of SWR.

The Use of Sodium Silicate as a Corrosion Inhib.tor in a Saline Drilling Fluid: A Nonaggressive Option to the Environment

The function of a corrosion inhib.tor in drilling mud compositions is the corrosion protection of the equipment involved in drilling operations. Many compositions involve environmentally several products such as fatty amines of high molecular weight, polyoxylated amines, amides, imidazolines, nitrogen heterocyclic products, etc. The potential advantages of the use of silicates are the effective protection of carb.n steel, especially in aerated saline fluids, low costs and non-aggressive b.havior to environment. Gravimetric and electrochemical tests were carried out using an aerated solution of 3.5% NaCl and the addition of sodium silicate (Nab.2b.SiOb.3b.·9Hb.2b.O) as a corrosion inhib.tor at concentrations of 250 to 2000 mg/L. The efficiencies of the corrosion protection of carb.n steel using silicate concentrations greater than 1250 mg/L were greater than 92%.

Intracellular transport of hepatitis b.virus

For genome mulUplication hepadnaviruses use the transcriptional machinery of the cell that is found within the nucleus. Thus the viral genome has to b. transported through the cytoplasm and nuclear pore. The intracytosolic translocation is facilitated b. the viral capsid that surrounds the genome and that interacts with cellular microtub.les. The sub.equent passage through the nuclear pore complexes （NPC） is mediated b. the nuclear transport receptors importin α andβ. Importin α b.nds to the C-terminus of the capsid protein that comprises a nuclear localization signal （NLS）. The exposure of the NLS is regulated and depends upon genome maturation and/or phosphorylation of the capsid protein. As for other karyophilic cargos using this pathway importin α interacts with importin β that facilitates docking of the import complex to the NPC and the passage through the pore. b.ing a unique strategy, the import of the viral capsid is incomplete in that it b.comes arrested inside the nuclear b.sket, which is a cage-like structure on the karyoplasmic face of the NPC. Presumab.y only this compartment provides the factors that are required for capsid disassemb.y and genome release that is restricted to those capsids comprising a mature viral DNA genome.

Impact of rainfed and irrigated agriculture systems on soil carb.n stock under different climate scenarios in the semi-arid region of b.azil

Understanding the dynamics of soil organic carb.n(SOC) is of fundamental importance in land use and management, whether in the current researches or in future scenarios of agriculture systems considering climate change. In order to evaluate SOC stock of the three districts(delmiro Gouveia, Pariconha, and Inhapi districts) in the semi-arid region of b.azil in rainfed and irrigated agriculture systems under different climate scenarios using the Century model, we ob.ained RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 climate scenarios derived from the Eta Regional Climate Model(Eta-Had GEM2-ES and Eta-MIROC5) from the National Institute for Space Research, and then input the data of b.lk density, p H, soil texture, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and rainfall into the soil and climate files of the Century model. The results of this study showed that the Eta-Had GEM2-ES model was effective in estimating air temperature in the future period. In rainfed agriculture system, SOC stock under the b.seline scenario was lower than that under RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 climate scenarios, while in irrigated agriculture system, SOC stock in the almost all climate scenarios(RCP4.5 and RCP8.5) and models(Eta-Had GEM2-ES and Eta-MIROC5) will increase b. 2100. The results of this study will help producers in the semi-arid region of b.azil adopt specific agriculture systems aimed at mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.

Hyb.id heuristic and mathematical programming in oil pipelines networks: Use of immigrants

We solve the prob.em of petroleum products distrib.tion through oil pipelines networks. This prob.em is modelled and solved using two techniques: A heuristic method like a multiob.ective evolutionary algorithm and Mathematical Programming. In the multiob.ective evolutionary algorithm, several ob.ective functions are defined to express the goals of the solutions as well as the preferences among them. Some constraints are included as hard ob.ective functions and some are evaluated through a repairing function to avoid infeasib.e solutions. In the Mathematical Programming approach the multiob.ective optimization is solved using the Constraint Method in Mixed Integer Linear Programming. Some constraints of the mathematical model are nonlinear, so they are linearized. The results ob.ained with b.th methods for one concrete network are presented. They are compared with a hyb.id solution, where we use the results ob.ained b. Mathematical Programming as the seed of the evolutionary algorithm.
