The Use of Triancinolone for the Treatment of Keloid Scars

Scars, when in good evolution, result in a smooth, thin and discreet tissue. Keloid scars, however, are a type of abnormal and exacerbated repair response to tissue injury, whether in surgical interventions or in various injuries, which present in a prominent and gross way. In this context, there is an excess of collagen deposition in the tissue repair process, which can lead to the formation of keloids. The diagnosis of the condition presented is made by the medical professional or by the patient himself after the surgical intervention or skin injury. Under this analysis, protruding, rough and bad-looking scars are identified. In addition, we highlight the existence of keloids similar to large tumors, described as Jorge Lobo disease. The treatment encompasses massages, compressions, corticosteroids, chemotherapy, collagenase and cryotherapy. At first, we used corticosteroid-based massages, and then we started using compressive dressings until we started intrakeloid infiltrations with injectable triamcinolone. Triamcinolone 10 mg injectable—1/10—in 0.9% saline, with syringe and fixed needle 0.3 mm × 8 mm, intralesional infiltrate, in this context, proved to be effective for its treatment when applied sequentially and linearly. In cases where the medication was applied, there was an improvement after 21 days of application and a definitive improvement 2 months after the injury. In comparison, on the other hand, patients who were not subjected to the application of the medication may improve after 4 months of the injury or worsen compared to the initial case. We have come to the conclusion that this procedure may be one of the chosen ones for the treatment of keloid scars, being one of the most recommended for cases of keloid already installed.

Intestinal neuronal dysplasia type B(IND-B)is a controversial condition among gastrointestinal neuromuscular *** is its most common clinical manifestation in *** intense scientific research,there are still knowledge gaps regarding the diagnostic criteria for IND-B in the histopathological analysis of rectal *** guidelines published in the past three decades have directed diagnostic criteria for quantifying the number of ganglion cells in the nervous plexus of the enteric nervous ***,it is very complex to distinguish numerically what is pathological from what is normal,mainly because of the difficulty in determining a reliable control group composed of healthy children without intestinal ***,a series of immunohistochemical markers have been proposed to assist in the histopathological analysis of the enteric nervous *** of these markers facilitate the identification of other structures of the enteric nervous system,in addition to ganglion *** structures may be related to the etiopathogenesis of IND-B and represent new possibilities for the histopathological diagnosis of this disease,providing a view beyond the number of ganglion *** review critically discusses the aspects related to the disease definitions and diagnostic criteria of this organic cause of constipation.

Recent Advances in the Modelling and Analysis of opinion Dynamics on Influence Networks

A fundamental aspect of society is the exchange and discussion of opinions between individuals, occurring in situations as varied as company boardrooms, elementary school classrooms and online social media. After a very brief introduction to the established results of the most fundamental opinion dynamics models, which seek to mathematically capture observed social phenomena, a brief discussion follows on several recent themes pursued by the authors building on the fundamental ideas. In the first theme, we study the way an individual′s self-confidence can develop through contributing to discussions on a sequence of topics, reaching a consensus in each case,where the consensus value to some degree reflects the contribution of that individual to the conclusion. During this process, the individuals in the network and the way they interact can change. The second theme introduces a novel discrete-time model of opinion dynamics to study how discrepancies between an individual′s expressed and private opinions can arise due to stubbornness and a pressure to conform to a social norm. It is also shown that a few extremists can create "pluralistic ignorance", where people believe there is majority support for a position but in fact the position is privately rejected by the majority. Last, we consider a group of individuals discussing a collection of logically related topics. In particular, we identify that for topics whose logical interdependencies take on a cascade structure,disagreement in opinions can occur if individuals have competing and/or heterogeneous views on how the topics are related, i.e., the logical interdependence structure varies between individuals.

Fluid flow simulation of industrial fixed bed mixed-flow grain dryer using k-ω SST turbulence model

The fluid dynamics analysis on industrial,mixed-flow grain dryers with fixed bed using computational techniques is necessary to assist the design of such equipment contributing to cost reduction in the dryer projects and agricultural drying operations that involve the production of grains in the *** study presents a Computational Fluid Dynamic(CFD)solution for air flow analysis in an industrial *** air flow at the inlet and outlet of the dryer was investigated using the k-ωSST turbulence *** dryer region with soybean was considered as a laminar porous medium flow in the permanent and isothermal regime,having for the model a simplified geometry with the tower considered as a porous medium and the air inlet and outlet as a turbulent fluid *** flow was treated with a permanent and isothermal *** flow and pressures were used according to design *** validate the k-ωSST turbulence model,the velocity profile at the dryer inlet was obtained experimentally,which presented results with good agreement between the numerical and the experimental *** model obtained satisfactory results of the computational validation of the air flow in the dryer with good convergence requiring a minimum of computational effort,being suitable for the simulation of industrial-scale dryers,as to its air flow through a tower,operating with fixed bed soybean in the steady and isothermal regime.

Effect of increasing densities of Urochloa brizantha cv. Marandu on Eucalyptus urograndis initial development in silvopastoral system

In silvopasture system, the coexistence of eucalyptus seedlings with other species may result in growth reduction, especially during eucalyptus early ***, studies elucidating how forage species affect the eucalyptus growth can provide important information for their rational management aiming to obtain the maximum gain of the system. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of increasing densities of Urochloa brizantha *** in the early development of Eucalyptus urograndis. An experiment was conducted in 20 L pots, in an open and semi-controlled area, during 90 days after planting of eucalyptus. A completely randomized design with four replications was used, in a 6 9 7 factorial system, meaning six evaluation periods and seven densities of U. brizantha: 0(control), 22, 33, 44, 67, 89 and111 plants m^(-2). Fortnightly, eucalyptus height, stem diameter and chlorophyll fluorescence(Fv/Fm) were evaluated. At the end of experimental period, the net assimilation rate, stomatal conductance and transpiration rate of eucalyptus plants were determined, in addition to the dry matter of eucalyptus(leaves and stem) and U. brizantha (leaves). In coexistence with 111 plants m^(-2), eucalyptus had reduction of 63.9% on total dry matter and 72.7% on leaf area, compared to the control. From the density of22 plants m^(-2), U. brizantha negatively interfere significantly the growth of E. urograndis. Up to 8 plants m^(-2) there are no reductions greater than 5% in eucalyptus height and stem diameter.

Pelviureteric junction obstruction in adults:A systematic review of the literature

Background:Pelviureteric junction obstruction(PUJo)is a common urological disorder that can present at any stage of *** underlying etiology in children has been well studied;however,a gap exists in the literature for the adult ***,we performed a systematic review of the literature to evaluate the current evidence on the underlying etiologies of adult patients presenting with *** and methods:Four electronic databases were searched for relevant studies assessing the underlying etiologies of pelviureteric junction obstruction in *** were assessed for eligibility based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria,and a critical appraisal of methodological quality and risk of bias was ***,qualitative and quantitative data analyses were ***:Twelve studies comprising a total of 513 patients with radiologically confirmed PUJo met the inclusion criteria and were included in our *** most common finding was crossing vessels,which were observed in 50.5%of patients,followed by intrinsic ureteral stenosis(27.1%),adhesions(15.3%),and high insertion of the ureter(10.1%).Conclusions:The underlying etiologies of PUJo in adults remain *** studyindicated that obstruction secondary to crossing vessels is the most common cause of obstruction in adults and occurs more frequently than in the pediatric population.

Association between calcium sensing receptor gene polymorphisms and chronic pancreatitis in a US population:Role of serine protease inhibitor Kazal 1type and alcohol

AIM： To test the hypothesis that calcium sensing receptor （CASR） polymorphisms are associated with chronic pancreatitis （CP）, and to determine whether serine protease inhibitor Kazal 1type （SPINK1） N34S or alcohol are necessary co-factors in its etiology. METHoDS： Initially, 115 subjects with pancreatitis and 66 controls were evaluated, of whom 57 patients and 21 controls were predetermined to carry the high-risk SPINK1 N34S polymorphism. We sequenced CASR gene exons 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7, areas containing the majority of reported polymorphisms and novel mutations. Based on the initial results, we added 223 patients and 239 controls to analyze three common nonsynonymous single nucleotide polymorphisms （SNPs） in exon 7 （A986S, R990G, and Q1011E）. RESULTS： The CASR exon 7 R990G polyrnorphism was significantly associated with CP （oR, 2.01; 95% CI, 1.12-3.59; P = 0.015）. The association between CASR R990G and CP was stronger in subjects who reported moderate or heavy alcohol consumption （oR, 3.12; 95% CI, 1.14-9.13; P = 0.018）. There was no association between the various CASR genotypes and SPINK1 N34S in pancreatitis. None of the novel CASR polymorphisms reported from Germany and India was detected. CoNCLUSIoN： our United States-based study confirmed an association of CASR and CP and for the first time demonstrated that CASR R990G is a significant risk factor for CP. We also conclude that the risk of CP with CASR R990G is increased in subjects with moderate to heavy alcohol consumption.
