MnFe2O4 nanoparticles as new catalyst for oxidative degradation of phenol by peroxydisulfate

Manganese ferrite nanopowder was prepared by thermal decomposition at 400℃ of the gel synthesized from manganese and iron nitrates and polyvinyl alcohol. X-ray diffractometry evidenced that manganese ferrite was formed as single crystalline phase at this temperature. Scanning electron microscope images evidenced the formation of very fine spherical particles （d 〈 11 nm） of manganese ferrite, with specific surface area of 147 m2/g. The powder obtained at 400℃ was used as a catalyst for the oxidative degradation of phenol in aqueous solutions, in the presence of potassium peroxydisulfate as oxidant. High phenol removal efficiencies above 90% were reached at： pH 3-3.5, phenol initial concentration around 50 mg/L, peroxydisulfate：phenol mass ratio 10：1, and catalyst dose 3 g/L. Total organic carbon measurements showed that the degradation of phenol goes, under these conditions, to mineralization in an extent of 60%.

In recent times, mobile Internet has witnessed the explosive growth of video applications, embracing user-generated content, Internet Protocol television (IPTV), live streaming, video-on-demand, video conferencing, and FaceTime-like video communications. The exponential rise of video traffic and dynamic user behaviors have proved to be a major challenge to video resource sharing and delivery in the mobile environment. In this article, we present a survey of state-of-the-art video distribution solutions over the Internet. We first discuss the challenges of mobile peer-to-peer (MP2P)-based solutions and categorize them into two groups. We discuss the design idea, characteristics, and drawbacks of solutions in each group. We also give a review for solutions of video transmission in wireless heterogeneous networks. Furthermore, we summarize the information-centric networking (ICN)-based video solutions in terms of in-network caching and name-based routing. Finally, we outline the open issues for mobile video systems that require further studies.

In the last decades,a significant increase in the incidence of diabetic kidney disease(DKD)was observed concomitant with rising diabetes mellitus(DM)*** disease associated with DM in children and adolescents is represented by persistent albuminuria,arterial hypertension,progressive decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate to end-stage renal disease and increased cardiovascular and all-cause morbidity and mortality of these *** medical practice,the common and still the“gold standard”marker for prediction and detection of diabetic kidney involvement in pediatric diabetes is represented by microalbuminuria screening even if it has low specificity to detect early stages of *** are some known limitations in albuminuria value as a predictor biomarker for DKD,as not all diabetic children with microalbuminuria or macroalbuminuria will develop end-stage renal *** tubular damage occurs before the glomerular injury,tubular biomarkers are superior to the glomerular ***,they may serve for early detection of DKD in both type 1 DM and type 2 *** and new biomarkers to identify diabetic children and adolescents at risk of renal complications at an early stage as well as renoprotective strategies are necessary to delay the progression of kidney disease to end-stage kidney *** biomarkers and therapeutic strategies are discussed as timely diagnosis and therapy are critical in the pediatric diabetic population.

One of the most important tools used to evaluate kidney function in the context of chronic kidney disease or other renal function related pathologies is the exploration of glomerular filtration rate (GFR). Iohexol is up to this moment a good candidate molecule for the GFR assessment since it exhibits minimum protein binding rates and minimum extra-renal clearance, being neither secreted nor reabsorbed at the tubular level. This study proposes and evaluates a new LC-MS/MS method for the iohexol determination from capillary blood, prelevated using volumetric absorbative microsampling (VAMS) systems. As an alternative to VAMS, a brand new HemaPEN■ device for micro-prelevation was also tested. A new high throughput sample preparation protocol adapted for iohexol quantification from whole blood VAMS samples was developed. The medium term stability study of iohexol in dried whole blood VAMS samples that was conducted showed a good stability of this molecule for up to 12 days. By collecting only 10 mL of blood, iohexol can be analyzed from dried whole blood VAMS samples for concentration ranges between 1 and 250 mg/mL. Due to the analyte stability in VAMS for up to 12 days, this approach might be successfully applied for GFR assessment for clinical cases allowing minimum invasiveness and even delayed analysis.

For a long time, treatment of peritoneal metastases(PM) was mostly palliative and thus, this status was link with "terminal status/despair". The current multimodal treatment strategy, consisting of cytoreductive surgery(CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC), has been strenuously achieved over time, but seems to be the best treatment option for PM patients. As we reviewed the literature data, we could emphasize some milestones and also, controversies in the history of proposed multimodal treatment and thus, outline the philosophy of this approach, which seems to be an unusual one indeed. Initially marked by nihilism and fear, but benefiting from a remarkable joint effort of human and material resources(multi-center and-institutional research), over a period of 30 years, CRS and HIPEC found their place in the treatment of PM. The next 4 years were dedicated to the refinement of the multimodal treatment, by launching research pathways. In selected patients, with requires training, it demonstrated a significant survival results(similar to the Hepatic Metastases treatment), with acceptable risks and costs. The main debates regarding CRS and HIPEC treatment were based on the oncologists' perspective and the small number of randomized clinical trials. It is important to statement the PM patient has the right to be informed of the existence of CRS and HIPEC, as a real treatment resource, the decision being made by multidisciplinary teams.

Fast resources discovery and high Quality of Service(QoS) guarantee are the key determinants for efficient Mobile P2P(MP2P) video *** this paper,we propose a CrossLayer and One-Hop Neighbour-Assisted Video Sharing(CNVS) solution in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks(MANETs).By making use of crosslayer approaches to bridge the overlay and the MAC layer and with the help of dissemination assisted by one-hop neighbours,CNVS intelligently builds the resource-centric self-organization node cluster *** order to meet the QoS requirement,by making use of video resources access cost model,each peer can disconnect a less efficient connection with the original supplier and choose a peer that provides a low access cost as the new *** results also show how CNVS achieves lower average end-to-end delay,less average number of hops for video data delivery,lower routing overhead and packet loss rate,and higher network throughput than another state-of-the-art solution.

Hydraulic hybrid propulsion is a solution to improve greenhouse emissions of *** density,ability to allow new engine concepts,like free piston with improved thermodynamic cycles,capability for the internal combustion engine to run at constant,and here after low emission conditions,also the ability to recover different sizes of energy and last but not least,using conventional technology and applicability on all vehicles,even it is bicycle,micro mobility dedicated,conventional or heavy duty are arguments to further improve efficiency and technical solutions.A development solution for hydraulic hybrid propulsion systems is based on the principle that the column of liquid that transfers the energy is involved in an alternate movement and is not flowing continuously,just oscillating about an average *** paper presents the performances of an off road vehicle,Dacia Duster,equipped with an alternant hydraulic transmission *** hydraulic circuit is designed to allow dynamic phenomena,like inertia and accumulating effects to increase the energy concentration for low dissipation *** designing the working principle of the alternant hydraulic generator and motor,flow is optimized using a Lattice Bolzmann CFD software,to identify under source of flow loss under dynamic conditions.1D CFD and multi- physics simulation is used in order to design the hydraulic circuit.A test rig model is used to validate the concept under real running *** attention is given to the leak- pressure wave *** test rig model is adapted to the vehicle and dynamic performances evaluated and compared to the base model.
