Since most of the central regions of the European part of Russia are considered selenium and iodine deficient, the assessment of modern real consumption of chlorine, bromine, iodine and selenium by population of these regions with different diets is an important constituent part of medical monitoring. In this paper, a brief analysis of the impact of these elements on the human body is given. A number of consumed foodstuffs in different food rations (diets) were assessed. Six selected basic food rations, which most fully reflect the specific features of nutrition in the Russian Federation, were chosen. The analysis of the concentration of chlorine, bromine, iodine and selenium in a wide range of food and agricultural products was carried out. The daily intake of these elements in the human body from the selected diets was calculated. A comparison of the real income of chlorine, bromine, iodine and selenium in the human body with a physiologically needed intake was performed. It is proposed to use the coefficient of Kr, which is the ratio of actual intake of the element in the human body to physiologically needed intake. Based on this analysis assessed insufficient or excess supply of chlorine, bromine, iodine and selenium in the human body with these diets in the central regions of the European part of Russia was evaluated.

The cytotoxicity and non-specific cellular uptake of the most popular composition of upconversion nanoparticle （UCNP）, NaYF4：Yb^3＋：Er^3＋, is reported using normal human skin cells, including dermal fibroblasts and immortalized human epidermal linear keratinocytes （HaCaT）. A new hydrophilization reaction of as-synthesized UCNPs based on tetramethylammonium hydroxide （TmAH） enabled evaluation of the intrinsic cytotoxicity of bare UCNPs. The cytotoxicity effects of the UCNP surface-coating and polystyrene host were investigated over the concentration range 62.5-125 μg/mL with 24-h incubation, using a mTT test and optical microscopy. The fibroblast viability was not compromised by UCNPs, whereas the viability of keratinocytes varied from 52% ± 4% to 100% ± 10% than the control group, depending on the surface modification. Bare UCNPs reduced the keratinocyte viability to 76% ± 3%, while exhibiting profound non-specific cellular uptake. Hydrophilic poly（D,L-lactide）- and poly（maleic anhydride-alt-l-octadecene）-coated UCNPs were found to be least cytotoxic among the polymer-coated UCNPs, and were readily internalized by human skin cells. Polystyrene microbeads impregnated with UCNPs remained nontoxic. Surprisingly, no correlation was found between UCNP cytotoxicity and the internalization level in cells, although the latter ranged broadly from 0.03% to 59%, benchmarked against 100% uptake level of TmAH-UCNPs.

The historical annual loading to,removal from,and cumulative burden in the Arctic Ocean for β-hexachlorocyclohexane(β-HCH),an isomer comprising 5e12%of technical HCH,is investigated using a mass balance box model from 1945 to *** the 76 years,loading occurred predominantly through ocean currents and river inflow(83%)and only a small portion via atmospheric transport(16%).β-HCH started to accumulate in the Arctic Ocean in the late 1940s,reached a peak of 810 t in 1986,and decreased to 87 t in 2020,when its concentrations in the Arctic water and air were~30 ng m^(-3)and~0.02 pg m^(-3),*** though β-HCH and α-HCH(60e70%of technical HCH)are both the isomers of HCHs with almost identical temporal and spatial emission patterns,these two chemicals have shown different major pathways entering the *** from α-HCH with the long-range atmospheric transport(LRAT)as its major transport pathway,β-HCH reached the Arctic mainly through long-range oceanic transport(LROT).The much higher tendency of β-HCH to partition into the water,mainly due to its much lower Henry's Law Constant than α-HCH,produced an exceptionally strong pathway divergence with β-HCH favoring slow transport in water and α-HCH favoring rapid transport in *** concentration and burden of β-HCH in the Arctic Ocean are also predicted for the year 2050 when only 4.4-5.3 t will remain in the Arctic Ocean under the influence of climate change.

Characterization and Electrochemical Properties of Nanostructured Zr-Doped Anatase TiO_2 Tubes Synthesized by Sol–Gel Template Route

A series of nanostructured Zr-doped anatase TiO_2 tubes with the Zr/Ti molar ratio of 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, and0.09 were prepared by a sol–gel technology on a carbon fiber template. The electrochemical performance of Zr-doped anatase TiO_2 as anodes for rechargeable lithium batteries was investigated and compared with undoped titania. Tests represented that after 35-fold charge/discharge cycling at C/10 the reversible capacity of Zr-doped titania（Zr/Ti = 0.03） reaches 135 m A h g^（-1）, while the capacity of undoped titania（Zr/Ti = 0） yielded only 50 m A h g^（-1）. Based on the results of the physicochemical investigation, three reasons of improving electrochemical performance of Zr-doped titania were suggested. According to the scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy, Zr^（4＋） doping induces a decrease in nanoparticle size, which facilitates the Li＋diffusion. The Raman investigations show the more open structure of Zr-doped TiO_2 as compared to undoped titania due to changing of the unit cell parameters, that significantly affects on the reversibility of the insertion/extraction process. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results indicate that substitution of Zr^（4＋） for Ti^（4＋） into anatase TiO_2 has favorable effects on the conductivity.

We present a robust and computationally efficient image reconstruction and object detection algorithm suitable for a microwave holographic vision system with several microwave sensors and a single emission source to detect the presence and the nature of road obstacles impeding driving in the near vehicle zone. The holographic visualization technique allows reconstructing the spatial microwave scattering density in non-optical setting, detecting by lattice of sensors both amplitude and phase of a reflected signal We discuss versions of an algorithm, determine and analyze its resolution limits for various distances with different number of sensors for a one-dimensional test problem of detecting two walls （or posts） separated by a gap at a fixed distance. The interval between sensors needed for a reliable reconstruction equals about one Fresnel zone width. We show that detection distances and spatial resolution achieved （better than 20 cm on distances up to 4.5 m） were sufficient for near-vehicle object detection purposes.

The monophthalocyanine complexes of samarium and terbium containing axial 2-mercaptobenzothiazole（Pc Sm（mBT）（1））, 2-（2-benzoxazol-2-yl） phenolate（Pc Tb（OON）（2）） or 2-（2-benzothiazol-2-yl）phenolate（Pc Tb（SON）（3）） ligands were synthesized and identified by elemental, LDI-TOF and X-ray（for 1） ***（PL） and electroluminescence（EL） spectra of the compounds contained only emission bands of phthalocyanine and axial ligands but did not contain the bands of f-f *** was found that among the complexes 1, 2, 3 the latter had highest photoconductivity（~10–7 S/cm） and photovoltaic *** organic photovoltaic device（OPV） of configuration of ITO/3/C60/Alq3/Al revealed open-circuit voltage（VOC） of 0.24 V and short current density（ISC） of 0.3 μA/cm2 under illumination by a xenon lamp at 17 m W/cm2.

The present work deals with the investigation of mineralization of coccus bacteria infecting human organism, for the Staphylococcus aureus colony as example. The structure and morphology in calcified heard valves and their bioprostheses were *** (septic) endocarditis is characteristic of all the heart valves of this series. About 50 samples of heart valves and their bioprostheses (porcine) subjected to calcium phosphate mineralization were studied. In addition, for more details, we carried out modeling of the ion composition of blood plasma with respect to major elements with the microbial culture of Staphylococcus aureus. In the experiments, a colony of bacteria on solid agar was placed in the aqueous solution with ion concentrations Са = 1.33 mm; Р = 1.5 mm; mg = 1 mm; NaCl = 0.15 m. The composition of the solution corresponded to the concentrations of ionized elements in the blood of a healthy adult person. The colony of bacteria was in the upper part of the solution.

The results of a survey of different population groups in urban areas of the moscow Region (industry workers, residents of areas with increased anthropogenic load of mercury and conditionally pristine areas, cohorts of pregnant women and children) to assess the contents of mercury in samples of various diagnostic biomaterials taken during the course of research are presented. mercury concentrations in venous and umbilical cord blood, urine, hair, and nails were determined by means of instrumental neutron activation analysis and cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry. Peculiarities of selection, transportation, storage, and preparation for analysis of samples of hair, nails, urine and umbilical venous blood are described. The determined concentrations of mercury in the studied diagnostic biomaterials are compared with normal and thresholds values. Although increased mercury concentrations were observed in some cases, no significant exposure of mercury was evident in general in the study towns. A positive correlation between the degree of consumption of seafood during pregnancy and a high content of mercury in the analyzed diagnostic biomaterials was shown.
