Alzheimer’s disease(Ad)is the most common type of dementia,but it is very difficult to diagnose with certainty,so many Ad studies have attempted to find early and relevant diagnostic *** upon activation,normal T cell expressed and secreted(RANTES,also known as C-C chemokine ligand)is a chemokine involved in the migration of T cells and other lymphoid *** in RANTES levels and its expression in blood or in cerebrospinal fluid have been reported in some neurodegenerative diseases,such as Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis,but also in metabolic diseases in which inflammation plays a *** aim of this observational study was to assess RANTES levels in peripheral blood as clinical indicators of *** levels of RANTES were investigated in 85 Ad patients in a relatively early phase of Ad(median 8.5 months after diagnosis;39 men and 46 women;average age 75.7 years),and in 78 control subjects(24 men and 54 women;average age 66 years).We found much higher plasma levels of RANTES in Ad patients compared to controls.A negative correlation of RANTES levels with age,disease duration,Fazekas scale score,and the medial temporal lobe atrophy(MTA)score(Scheltens’s scale)was found in Ad patients,i.e.,the higher levels corresponded to earlier stages of the *** RANTES levels were not correlated with cognitive *** Ad patients,RANTES levels were positively correlated with the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α,which is consistent with the wellknown fact that Ad is associated with inflammatory *** levels were also positively correlated with insulin levels in Ad patients,with insulin resistance(HOMA-R)and pancreatic beta cell function(HOMA-F).This study evaluated several clinical and metabolic factors that may affect plasma levels of RANTES,but these factors could not explain the increases in RANTES levels observed in Ad *** levels of RANTES appear to be an interesting

The process of electroboosted rolling in grooves and calibres can be utilised as an effective way of obtaining of new materials with structure and properties, close to nanosizes. The features and technological capabilities of electroboosted rolling in grooves and calibres utilised for obtaining unique constructional(structural) and functional materials and hardware products from them. The cross-sectional(transversal) size of internal layers can be at the expense of repeated reduction of a package (packet) from the ordered threads or layers as metallic, and not of metallic materials.

Electrostimulated deformation of metals and alloys, using groove or smooth rolling, requires that several important conditions are satisfied. (1) The deformation site must geometrically overlap with the flow of electric current passing through a strip between the rolls; (2) The density of direct or alternating electric current supplied to deformation site must be sufficiently high (of an order of 104-106А/cm^2); (3) An efficient heat removal from the deformation site must be achieved. In general, the temperature of a strip must be within the range of 100-300℃. (4) The electric resistance at the roll-strip interface must be minimized. Our recent studies also indicate that the electrostimulated rolling in the shortcut regime is a further condition for obtaining high quality rolling of metals. In this regime, the rolls are placed in physical contact even in the absence of a strip that ensures an uninterrupted passage of electric current between the rolls.

Transformation Behavior and Microstructure in a 40Cr_2Ni_2mov Cast Steel

The transformation behavior of a 40Cr2Ni2mov cast steel manufactured by electroslag remelting (ESR) has been investigated. Compared to a forged steel, the incubation periods for both the pearlite and bainite transformations are shorter, but the transformation times are longer. The austenite is easier to transform into martensite. Optical microscopy and TEM indicated that there were variations in microstructure during the super-cooled austenite transformation. This is attributed to an inhomogeneous austenite, resulting from the segregation of elements during the ESR solidification.
