This paper outlines the results of experim.ntal study of the dynam.c rock failure based on the com.arison of dry and saturated lim.stone sam.les obtained during the dynam.c com.ression and split tests. The tests were perform.d using the Kolsky m.thod and its m.difications for dynam.c splitting. The m.chanical data(e.g. strength, tim. and energy characteristics) of this m.terial at high strain rates are obtained. It is shown that these characteristics are sensitive to the strain rate. A unified interpretation of these rate effects, based on the structuraletem.oral approach, is hereby presented. It is dem.nstrated that the tem.oral dependence of the dynam.c com.ressive and split tensile strengths of dry and saturated lim.stone sam.les can be predicted by the incubation tim. criterion. Previously discovered possibilities to optim.ze(m.nim.ze) the energy input for the failure process is discussed in connection with industrial rock failure processes. It is shown that the optim.l energy input value associated with critical load, which is required to initialize failure in the rock m.dia, strongly depends on the incubation tim. and the im.act duration. The optim.l load shapes, which m.nim.ze the m.m.ntum.for a single failure im.act, are dem.nstrated. Through this investigation, a possible approach to reduce the specific energy required for rock cutting by m.ans of high-frequency vibrations is also discussed.

This article presents the results of experim.ntal studies concerning the dynam.c deform.tion and failure of a unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced plastic(T700/LY113)under *** test sam.les were m.nufactured through the filam.nt winding of flat *** establish the strain rate dependencies of the strength and elastic m.dulus of the m.terial,dynam.c tests were carried out using a drop tower,the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar m.thod,and standard static *** sam.les were loaded both along and perpendicular to the direction of the reinforcing *** applicability of the obtained sam.les for static and dynam.c tests was confirm.d through finite elem.ntm.deling and the high-speed im.ging of the deform.tion and failure of sam.les during *** a result of the conducted experim.ntal studies,static and dynam.c stress-strain curves,tim. dependencies of deform.tion and the stress and strain rates of the sam.les during com.ression were *** on these results,the strain rate dependencies of the strength and elasticity m.dulus in the strain rate range of 0.001-6001/s are *** is shown that the strain rate significantly affects the strength and deform.tion characteristics of the unidirectional carbon fiber com.osites under *** increase in the strain rate by 5 orders of m.gnitude increased the strength and elastic m.dulus along the fiber direction by 42%and 50%,*** loading resulted in a strength and elastic m.dulus increase by 58%and 50%,*** average strength along the fibers at the largest studied strain rate was about *** obtained results can be used to design structural elem.nts m.de of polym.r com.osite m.terials operating under dynam.c shock loads,as well as to build m.dels of m.chanical behavior and failure criteria of such m.terials,taking into account the strain rate effects.

The therm.l stability of m.nolithic optical m.croresonators is essential for m.ny m.soscopic photonic applications such as ultrastable laser oscillators,photonic m.crowave clocks,and precision navigation and *** fundam.ntal perform.nce is largely bounded by therm.l *** therm.l m.nitoring can be achieved by utilizing cross-polarized dual-m.de beat frequency m.trology,determ.ned by the polarization-dependent therm.refractivity of a single-crystal m.croresonator,wherein the heterodyne radio-frequency beat pins down the optical m.de volum. tem.erature for precision ***,we investigate the correlation between the dualm.de beat frequency and the resonator tem.erature with tim. and the associated spectral noise of the dual-m.de beat frequency in a single-crystal ultrahigh-Q m.F_(2) resonator to illustrate that dual-m.de frequency m.trology can potentially be utilized for resonator tem.erature stabilization reaching the fundam.ntal therm.l noise lim.t in a realistic *** show a resonator long-term.tem.erature stability of 8.53μK after stabilization and unveil various sources that hinder the stability from.reaching sub-μK in the current system.an im.ortant step towards com.act precision navigation,sensing,and frequency reference architectures.

In this paper we study a continuous tim. random.walk in the line with two boundaries [a,b], a m.ve in any of two directions with different velocities v1 and v2. We consider a special type of boundary which can trap the particle for a random.tim.. We found closed-form.expressions for the stationary distribution of the position of the particle not only for the alternating m.rkov process but also for a broad class of sem.-m.rkov processes.

Synergistic effect of com.ination of surfactant and oxide powder on enhancem.nt of gas hydrates nucleation

In the present work we studied the induction periods of hydrate form.tion of natural gas in pure water, aqueous solutions of surfactants, and in the presence of surfactant together with alum.num.oxide nanopowder, the activity of which as hydrate form.tion inducer was studied previously. Sodium.dodecyl sulfate（SDS） or neonol AF-9-12 were used as the surfactants. It was dem.nstrated that the addition of either surfactants or alum.num.oxide powder under our experim.ntal conditions causes a decrease in the induction period of hydrate form.tion from.05 m.n for pure water to 30–35 m.n for water with additives. In the case of the sim.ltaneous presence of surfactants and alum.num.oxide powder in the system. induction period decreased to;0 m.n. So, the synergistic effect of the com.ination of surfactant and oxide powder on gas hydrate nucleation was dem.nstrated. Possible reasons of this effect have been discussed.

In this work,we dem.nstrate the power of a sim.le top-down electrochem.cal erosion approach to obtain Pt nanoparticle with controlled shapes and sizes(in the range from.2 to-10 nm..Carbon supported nanoparticles with narrow size distributions have been synthesized by applying an alternating voltage to m.croscopic bulk platinum.structures,such as disks or *** using any surfactants,the size and shape of the particles can be changed by adjusting sim.le param.ters such as the applied potential,frequency and electrolyte *** instance,application of a sinusoidal AC voltage with lower frequencies results in cubic nanoparticles;whereas higher frequencies lead to predom.nantly spherical *** the other hand,the am.litude of the,sinusoidal signal was found to affect the particle size;the lower the am.litude of the applied AC signal,the sm.ller the resulting particle ***/C catalysts prepared by this approach showed 0.76 A/m. m.ss activity towards the oxygen reduction reaction which is-2 tim.s higher than the state-of-the-art com.ercial Pt/C catalyst(0.42 A/m.)from.*** addition to this,we discussed the m.chanistic insights about the nanoparticle form.tion pathways.

The results on a dissociation behavior of propane hydrates prepared from.＂dry water＂ and contained unreacted residual water in the form.of ice inclusions or supercooled liquid water（water solution of gas） were presented for tem.eratures below 273 *** tem.erature ram.ing or pressure release m.thod was used for the dissociation of propane hydrate *** was found that the m.chanism.of gas hydrate dissociation at tem.eratures below 273 K depended on the phase state of unreacted water in the hydrate *** hydrates dissociated into ice and gas if the ice inclusions were in the hydrate *** sam.les of propane hydrates with inclusions of unreacted supercooled water only（without ice inclusions） dissociated into supercooled water and gas below the pressure of the supercooled water-hydrate-gas m.tastable equilibrium.

Electrolyte hydrogels are perspective m.terials for applications in electrochem.cal devices, which work at am.ient tem.eratures. In this work, hydrogel sulpho-m.dified m.m.ranes were form.d by radical co-polym.rization of sodium.styrensulphonate and potassium.sulphopropyl acrylate with acrylam.de and acrylonitrile. The hydrogel m.m.ranes were obtained in the form.of thin film.. Properties of the m.m.ranes were studied by therm.gravim.try, m.ss-spectrom.try and IR-spectrom.try. The prepared m.m.ranes were therm.lly stable up to 70°C - 90°C, and showed ion exchange capacity and swelling coefficients sufficient for use as ion-exchange or proton-conducting m.m.ranes.

We system.tically investigate the m.gnetic properties of Cu4-xZnx(OH)6FBr using the neutron diffraction and m.on spin rotation and relaxation(μSR) ***-diffraction m.asurem.nts suggest that the longrange m.gnetic order and the orthorhom.ic nuclear structure in the x=0 sam.le can persist up to x=0.23 and 0.43,*** tem.erature dependence of the zero-field μSR spectra provides two characteristic tem.eratures,TA0 and Tλ,which are associated with the initial drop close to zero tim. and the long-tim. exponential decay of the m.on relaxation,*** between TA0 and Tm.from.previously reported m.gnetic-susceptibility m.asurem.nts suggest that the form.r com.s from.the short-range interlayer-spin clusters that persist up to x=*** the other hand,the doping level where Tλ becom.s zero is about 0.66,which is m.ch higher than threshold of the long-range order,i.e.,~*** results suggest that the change in the nuclear structure m.y alter the spin dynam.cs of the kagom. layers and a gapped quantum.spin-liquid state m.y exist above x=0.66 with the perfect kagom. planes.
