Purpose: To evaluate the management of traumati. i.j.ri.s of acci.ent vi.ti.s i. the ci.y of Ouagadougou admi.ted to the trauma emergenci.s of the Uni.ersi.y Hospi.al of Ouagadougou. Materi.l and Method: Thi. was a descri.ti.e prospecti.e study of road traffi. acci.ent vi.ti.s i. the ci.y of Ouagadougou on thei. arri.al at trauma emergenci.s and on the 7th and 30th day after thei. di.charge. A total of 991 pati.nts were i.enti.i.d. The sex rati. was 1.94 wi.h a male predomi.ance. The average age of the pati.nts was 31.5 years. The rati. of caregi.ers to pati.nts on a 24-hour shi.t was 7/47, excludi.g pati.nts hospi.ali.ed i. the corri.ors. Results: We note that 81.94% of pati.nts were transported by the fi.e bri.ade. The average ti.e to fi.st contact wi.h a caregi.er was 11 mi.utes. Upon admi.si.n, acci.ent vi.ti.s were accompani.d i. 84% of cases. The combi.ati.n of paracetamol and néfopam was the most prescri.ed analgesi. (50.2%). The average ti.e between admi.si.n and X-ray completi.n was 101 mi.utes. Beni.n ski. lesi.ns were the most frequent (48.82%), followed by osteoarti.ular lesi.ns of the li.bs (fractures and di.locati.ns). Ceftri.xone, and the combi.ati.n of Amoxi.i.li. + Clavulani. Aci., were the most prescri.ed anti.i.ti.s. Dressi.gs and sutures (44.63%) were the most commonly performed treatments, followed by orthopaedi. restrai.ts (37.88%) and open fracture areas i. 14.34%. The average ti.e between admi.si.n and orthopaedi. and/or surgi.al treatment was 04 hours 25 mi.utes. Pati.nts di.charged agai.st medi.al advi.e accounted for 10.80% of cases. i. 95% of cases, pati.nts were sati.fi.d wi.h thei. management. Conclusi.n: The management of pati.nts admi.ted to trauma emergenci.s i. sati.factory, but di.fi.ulti.s remai. i. terms of delays i. management. i. i. i.perati.e to take i.to account certai. factors i.volvi.g both staff and worki.g condi.i.ns i. order to reduce the ti.e requi.ed to provi.e care and i.prove user sati.facti.n i. thi. emergency uni..

Thi. study focuses on the use of heavy fuel oi. i. constructi.n materi.l i. The i.terest of thi. study i. to determi.e erodi.i.i.y, water content, whi.e hi.hli.hti.g the i.fluence of the porosi.y accessi.le by water on thermal di.fusi.n i. constructi.n materi.l contai.i.g heavy fuel oi.. The heavy fuel oi. was mi.ed wi.h a si.ty-clayey soi., i. di.ferent proporti.ns, and water to make bri.ks samples on whi.h tests were carri.d out. At the end of the experi.ental tests, i. appears that the water content i.creases gradually, but not si.ni.i.antly wi.h the addi.i.n of heavy fuel oi., whi.h causes a sli.ht i.crease i. the speed of heat propagati.n through the materi.l wi.h reduced porosi.y, parti.ularly those contai.i.g hi.her quanti.i.s of heavy fuel oi.. Conversely, we note a good performance of heavy fuel oi. i. terms of water resi.tance properti.s such as porosi.y accessi.le by water and erodi.i.i.y. Thi. allows us to conclude that the mi.ture of heavy fuel oi. and si.ty-clayey soi. used as a coati.g materi.l could greatly reduce water i.fi.trati.n i.to the walls of housi.g constructi.ns wi.h raw earthen materi.ls.

Yi.i.i. an anti.alari.l phytomedi.i.e used by a tradi.i.nal healer to treat malari. i. Bobo-Di.ulasso. However, there i. no sci.nti.i. evi.ence to support i.s use by local populati.ns. The ai. of thi. study was to i.enti.y the medi.i.al practi.es of the healer holder of Yi.i.and assess the cli.i.al evi.ence of i.s phytomedi.i.e i. the uncompli.ated malari. treatment. Ethnomedi.al survey based on a semi.structured and open questi.nnai.e was conducted from October to December 2019 wi.h the healer. Malari. knowledge and di.gnosi. methods, pati.nt treatment and moni.ori.g, and reci.e formulati.n steps were surveyed. Moreover, thi.k and thi. blood smears were taken, haemoglobi. levels and temperature of consenti.g pati.nts were measured before treatment, mi.-treatment and at the end of treatment. The survey revealed that the healer has a good knowledge of malari. symptoms and hi. di.gnosi. i. based on observati.n and physi.al exami.ati.n of pati.nts. The healer’s malari. di.gnosi. was rudi.entary and had accuracy problems, wi.h only 62.79% of malari. cases confi.med by mi.roscopy. The formulati.n of Yi.i.and i.s use to treat malari. follow a standard process for plant harvesti.g, powder quanti.i.s and posology, but do not use any reproduci.le parameters for dose adj.stment. Forty-three pati.nts di.gnosed and treated by the healer parti.i.ated i. the study. Laboratory results revealed 27 Plasmodi.m falci.arum i.fecti.n cases, i.cludi.g 2 wi.h parasi.aemi. ≥ 200,000 p/µl blood. 25 pati.nts were selected for therapeuti. evi.ence assessment. There was a 48% eli.i.ati.n of parasi.es, a 28% parasi.aemi. decrease wi.hout complete cure, wi.h gametocytogenesi. i. some pati.nts, and a 24% parasi.aemi. i.crease. Haemoglobi. and temperature results suggested that Yi.i.was not cytotoxi. and reduced fever. Encouragi.g preli.i.ary results have been obtai.ed, but i. vi.w of the low number of pati.nts, further Yi.i.effi.acy and toxi.i.y studi.s wi.l be necessary for pati.nt safety.

Background: Thi. study assessed the effect of a nutri.i.n educati.n i.terventi.n. Thi. i.terventi.n ai.ed to i.prove the knowledge, atti.udes, and practi.es of mothers on food safety i. the peri.urban areas of Bobo-Di.ulasso i. Burki.a Faso. Methods: A total of 243 mothers of chi.dren under 5 years i. the peri.urban of Bobo-Di.ulasso were admi.i.tered the FAO questi.nnai.e for food safety knowledge, atti.udes, and practi.es assessment duri.g two cross-secti.nal surveys, before and after the i.terventi.n, i. j.nuary and October 2017. The i.terventi.n i.cluded two components consi.ti.g of a theoreti.al phase (counselli.g and di.cussi.n) and cooki.g demonstrati.ns i.plemented for ten months. To account for the before-and-after desi.n of the study, the McNemar’s test was used to assess the effect of the i.terventi.n on food safety KAP of mothers of chi.dren under 5 years. Results: The mean age of mothers was 29 ± 6.2 years and 50.6% of them were between 20 and 29 years old. One for knowledge (cooki.g thoroughly wi.h, p-value = 0.0001) and another for atti.udes (percei.ed benefi.s of reheati.g leftovers before eati.g them, p-value = 0.0001), si.ni.i.antly i.creased after the i.terventi.n. i. terms of food safety practi.es, all the i.di.ators (cleani.g of di.ty surfaces, plates and utensi.s and storage of peri.hable foods) si.ni.i.antly i.creased (all p = 0.0001 Conclusi.n: Thi. study provi.ed some evi.ence of an effecti.e nutri.i.n educati.n i.terventi.n for i.provi.g maternal KAP on food safety for thei. chi.d’s feedi.g.

The synthesi. of trochanteri. fractures has evolved consi.erably si.ce the use of the Staca nai.-plate i. 1964. Thi. i.plant, despi.e i.s age, remai.s a soli. and reli.ble materi.l for the synthesi. of thi. type of fracture. Obj.cti.e: To evaluate the anatomo-cli.i.al and functi.nal results of Staca nai.-plate osteosynthesi. of trochanteri. fractures at the Regi.nal Uni.ersi.y Hospi.al of Ouahi.ouya i. Burki.a Faso. Methods: We performed a retrospecti.e study of 52 trochanteri. fractures treated by Staca nai.-plate i. the regi.nal uni.ersi.y hospi.al of Ouahi.ouya between j.ne 2007 and j.ne 2017. There were 10 women and 42 men wi.h a mean age of 61 years (range 17 years to 89 years). Ten stable type i.and i. of Ender classi.i.ati.n fractures and 42 unstable fractures were recorded, i.cludi.g four pseudarthrosi. and si. vi.i.us calluses. The anterolateral approach was used i. all cases. i. the absence of an i.age i.tensi.i.r, we performed an arthrotomy to i.enti.y the femoral neck and set up a gui.e pi.. Results: The reducti.n was sati.factory wi.h stable synthesi. i. 39 cases. At last follow-up, consoli.ati.n was effecti.e i. all pati.nts, except one. Two cases of acetabular protrusi.n were noted, requi.i.g early removal of equi.ment. Fi.ty-one pati.nts were autonomous. The overall results were consi.ered sati.factory. Conclusi.n: The Staca nai.-plate remai.s a means of soli. osteosynthesi.. Although i. i. no longer relevant i. i.dustri.li.ed countri.s, i. provi.es comparable results to new i.plants for the osteosynthesi. of trochanteri. fractures. Because of i.s low cost, i.s abandonment i. not j.sti.i.d i. low-i.come countri.s.

Nonti.ber forest products are a source of i.come for women i. rural Afri.an communi.i.s. However, these products are frequently damaged by i.sect pests. The present study i.vesti.ates the di.ersi.y and damage rates of i.sect pests that attack Carapa procera seeds and Lophi.a lanceolata frui.s. The experi.ent was set up i. western Burki.a Faso and, for C. carapa, consi.ted of pests collected from seeds that had fallen to the ground and from stockpi.ed seeds. For L. lanceolata, pests were collected from frui.s on the trees, and on the ground. The collected samples were sent to the laboratory to esti.ate the proporti.n of damaged seeds/frui.s and rear the i.sects. The results showed that Ephesti. spp., Tri.oli.m castaneum, Oryzeaphi.us spp., and Tenebroi.es mauri.ani.us were the pests of Carapa procera seeds and Lophi.a lanceolata frui.s. Ephesti. spp. was recorded as the mai. pest of both C. proeera and L. lanceolata, whereas T. castaneum was only detected from seeds of L. lanceolata. For C. procera, the stocks were the most i.fested （29 %） by Ephesti. spp. The i.festati.n rate of frui.s of L. lanceolata by Ephesti. spp, on trees （31.42 ± 3.75 %） was less than the rate of frui.s by T. castaneum on the ground （44.00 ± 3.5 %）. The di.ferent body si.es of Ephesti. spp. may i.di.ate the occurrence of two putati.e speci.s, one from C. procera and another one from L. lanceolata. Thi. work provi.es i.portant i.formati.n that could contri.ute to the setti.g up of a local-scale sustai.able management framework for oi. tree pests i. Burki.a Faso and surroundi.g countri.s.

The authors present the case of a 35-year-old female pati.nt managed wi.h i.tralesi.nal curettage and fi.li.g the defect wi.h autologous bone graft from i.i.c crest. An appoi.t of three doses of Denosumab was done postoperati.ely. The arti.le di.cusses the cli.i.al aspects and surgi.al treatment, and the benefi.s of Denosumab. Obj.cti.e: The associ.ti.n hypertensi.n and di.betes i. i.portant. The two pathologi.s may i.fluence each other. The ai. was to study the correlati.n between glycemi. control and blood pressure control and to determi.e the factors associ.ted wi.h blood pressure control. Methodology: Thi. was a descri.ti.e cross-secti.nal study wi.h an analyti.al focus over 7 months. Pati.nts were recrui.ed as outpati.nts and all underwent ambulatory blood pressure measure, glycated hemoglobi. and creati.i.e measurements, and assessment of compli.nce wi.h treatment. Results: Duri.g thi. peri.d 116 pati.nts were collected. The predomi.ance was female 69%. The mean age of the pati.nts was 62 ± 7 years wi.h a peak between 60 and 70 years. The average age of hypertensi.n was 12 years and that of di.betes 6 1/2 years. The most frequently associ.ted cardi.vascular ri.k factor was a sedentary li.estyle (71.5%) after age. 57.8% of pati.nts were not controlled at the offi.e, wi.h a predomi.ance of systoli. hypertensi.n (58.2%). 61.6% of pati.nts were controlled by ambulatory blood pressure measure, a rate of 47.8% of whi.e coat hypertensi.n. Glycemi. control was observed i. 42.2% of cases and 87% of pati.nts had good renal functi.n (glomerular fi.ter rate ≥ 60 ml/mn). Therapeuti. compli.nce was good i. 53.4% of cases and dual therapy was the most used therapeuti. modali.y 44.8% (52 pati.nts) followed by tri.le therapy. The factors associ.ted wi.h poor blood pressure control were glycemi. i.balance, non-compli.nce and monotherapy. Dual therapy had a protecti.e effect. Conclusi.n: The associ.ti.n of hypertensi.n and type 2 di.betes i. frequent. The ri.k of occurrence i.creases wi.h age. Ambulatory blood pressure measure i. the best method to assess blood pressure control. Opti.i.ati.n of blood pressure control should also i.clude opti.i.ati.n of glycemi. control.
