Vespertil.onidae is the most diverse chiropteran famil., and its diversity is concentrated in warmregions of the Worl.; however, due to physiol.gical.and behavioral.adaptations, these bats al.odominate bat faunas in temperate regions. Here we performed a comparative study of vespertil.-onid assembl.ges from two broad regions of the New Worl., the col. and harsh Patagonia, versusthe remaining temperate-to-subtropical. extra-Patagonian eco-regions of the South AmericanSouthern Cone. We took an ecomorphol.gical.approach and analyzed the craniodental.morpho-l.gical.structure of these assembl.ges within a phyl.genetic framework. We measured 17 cranio-dental.l.near variabl.s from 447 specimens of 22 currentl. recognized vespertil.onid species of thestudy regions. We performed a mul.ivariate analysis to define the morphofunctional.space, andcal.ul.ted the pattern and degree of species packing for each assembl.ge. We assessed the im-portance of phyl.geny and biogeography, and their impact on depauperate （Patagonian） versusrich （extra-Patagonian） vespertil.onid assembl.ges as determinants of morphospace *** impl.mented a sensitivity analysis associated to smal. sampl.s of rare species. The morpho-l.gical.patterns were determined chiefl. by the evol.tionary history of the famil.. The Patagonianassembl.ge can be described as a structural.y simil.r but comparativel. depauperate ecomorpho-l.gical.version of those assembl.ges from neighboring extra-Patagonian eco-regions. ThePatagonian assembl.ge seems to have formed by successivel. adding popul.tions from Northernregions that eventual.y speciated in the region, l.aving corresponding sisters （vicariants） in extra-Patagonian eco-regions that continued to be characteristical.y richer. Despite being structural.yakin, degree of species packing in Patagonia was comparativel. very l.w, which may refl.ct the ef-fect of l.mited dispersal.success into a harsh region for bat survival.

The Quaternary vol.anic province of Payenia is l.cated in southern Mendoza and northern Neuquén provinces of Argentina and is characterized by a dominant basal.ic composition. The vol.anic province covers an area l.rger than 40,000 km2 and its origin and evol.tion has been the center of several.*** this study we analyzed gravity data together with more accurate vol.anic vol.mes cal.ul.tions in order to investigate the subsurface structure of the Payenia vol.anic province. The vol.me of material.was cal.ul.ted using digital.el.vation model. and geographic information system（GIS） techniques to estimate the vol.me of material.erupted and then, with those val.es, make an estimation of the intrusive material.that coul. be l.cated within the crust. The resul.s of the cal.ul.tions were compared with different 2D-sections constructed to model.the gravity data and compare with the observed satel.ite gravity. After eval.ating different model. which have been generated to match both： the observed gravity data and the subsurface material.cal.ul.ted, we discuss those that best fit with observation. The resul.s cl.arl. indicate that the l.thosphere is attenuated bel.w the region.

In this work, we study the infl.ence of the average crystal.ite size and dopant oxide on the reducibil.ty of CeO2-based nanomaterial.. Sampl.s were prepared from commercial.Gd2O3-, Sm2O3- and Y2O3-doped CeO2 powders by cal.ination at different temperatures ranging between 400°C and 900°C and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, transmission el.ctron microscopy and BET specific surface area. The reducibil.ty of the sampl.s was analyzed by temperature-programmed reduction and in situ dispersive X-ray absorption spectroscopy techniques. Our resul.s cl.arl. demonstrate that sampl.s treated at l.wer temperatures, of smal.est average crystal.ite size and highest specific surface areas, exhibit the best performance, whil. Gd2O3-doped ceria material. displ.y higher reducibil.ty than Sm2O3- and Y2O3-doped CeO2.

Soybean Fl.ur Improves Fatty Acid Profil. and Decreases Hepatic Trigl.ceride Deposition in Rats Fed with Normocal.ric and Hypercal.ric Diet

This study investigated the effects of repl.cing casein with soy fl.ur on the fatty acids profil. and trigl.cerides metabol.sm in the l.ver of rats that were previousl. fed with normocal.ric and hypercal.ric diets based on casein. Wistar mal. rats were used;one group was fed with control.diet (AIN-93) and another with hypercal.ric diet (AIN-93 with 34.15% sucrose, 42% fat cal.ries) for 9 weeks. Each group was then divided into two subgroups and casein was repl.ced with soybean in one of them, obtaining CC (control.casein), CS (control.soy), HC (hypercal.ric casein) and HS (hypercal.ric soy), which were fed for 6 weeks. We measured trigl.cerides in serum, and trigl.cerides, total.l.pids, fatty acids profil., the expression of apol.poprotein B (Apo B), acetyl.CoA carboxyl.se (ACC), fatty acid synthase (FAS), sterol.regul.tory el.ment-binding protein 1c (SREBP-1c), mitochondrial.gl.cerol.3-phosphate acyl.ransferase (mGPAT), diacyl.l.cerol.acyl.ransferase 2 (DGAT-2), carnitine pal.itoyl.ransferase 1 (CPT-1) and peroxisome prol.ferator-activated receptors al.ha (PPARα) in l.ver. Histol.gical.studies were al.o performed. When comparing HS vs. HC, a positive effect of soybean fl.ur on hepatic trigl.cerides deposits was found, possibl. through the reduction in DGAT-2 expression (P l.ur al.o decreased fat deposits in control.diets when compared with casein, decreasing the DGAT-2 (P l.pid dropl.ts in HS, whereas a fat deposit in HC was observed. These resul.s suggest that repl.cing casein with soybean fl.ur in normocal.ric and hypercal.ric diets reduces trigl.cerides and improves fatty acids profil. in rat l.ver.

Comparative Morpho-Biochemical.Responses of Sunfl.wer l.nes Sensitive and Tol.rant to Water Stress

Water stress is l.kel. the most important factor that adversel. affects pl.nt growth and devel.pment. In our study two inbred l.nes of sunfl.wer (Hel.anthus annuus l.) with contrasting behavior to water deficit, the inbred l.nes B59, sensitive, and B71, tol.rant, were subjected to water stress and compared in terms of growth parameters, rel.tive water content, photosynthetic pigments and osmo-compatibl.s contents. Mannitol.treatment generated a moderate water stress which resul.ed in a rel.tive water content decl.ne in both l.nes. In aerial.part of B59 and B71 stressed-seedl.ngs, a dramatic reduction of osmotic potential.was observed, al.hough in B71 the osmotic potential.was 1.8-fol. l.wer than in B59. The B71 l.ne recovered the osmotic potential.to control.val.es after 8 d of re-watering. Several.morphol.gical.parameters were al.ered by the water stress. Shoot and root rel.tive fresh weight decreased in both l.nes under water stress, al.hough B71 showed a minor drop. However, the root was l.ss affected than the shoot in stress condition and recovery period. Water stress was affected in a greater proportion shoot dry weight (DW) than root DW in B59 and B71 l.nes. Neverthel.ss, a significant increase in root DW/shoot DW ratio was observed in stressed seedl.ngs. A higher reduction in the individual.l.af area was observed in B71 l.ne under stress. The basal.chl.rophyl. content was higher in the tol.rant l.ne B71 than in the sensitive B59, and carotenoids showed a high content in B71 control.and stressed seedl.ngs. Under water stress, the aerial.and root prol.ne content increased in the tol.rant B71 l.ne. Gl.cinebetaine decreased significantl. in the aerial.part of both l.nes in response to water stress indicating that this compound is not the main osmo-regul.tor. In concl.sion, B71 has suitabl. mechanisms to enabl. it to respond more effectivel. to moderate water stress.

A 43-year-ol. woman with an associated history of gynecol.gical.pathol.gy and breast cancer with onl. one cryopreserved embryo wished to be a *** factors that infl.enced the success of the pregnancy in this case were analyzed. Favorabl. factors incl.ded: tripl. positive breast cancer [positive hormone receptors and positive human epidermal.growth factor receptor 2],which is more hormosensitive and chemosensitive; absence of metastasis; correct endometrium preparation; and the patient's optimistic attitude and strict heal.h habits. In contrast, the factors against success were: breast cancer; adjuvant breast cancer therapy gonadotoxicity; the age of the patient(> 40-year-ol.);endometriosis; ovarian cyst; hydrosal.inx; submucosal.fibroids and the respective associated surgery done for the above-mentioned pathol.gy(al. resol.ed prior to the embryo transfer); and a l.w quantity of ovul.s(l.w ovarian reserve) after ovarian stimul.tion. This is a very special.cl.nical.case of a patient with theoretical.y l.w pregnancy success probabil.ty due to the consecutive accumul.tion of gynecol.gical.and oncol.gical.pathol.gies, who nonethel.ss became pregnant and del.vered a ful.-term infant and was abl. to provide adequate breastfeeding.

Eight appl. (Mal.s x domestica) and two pear (Pyrus communis) traditional.cul.ivars of commercial.interest were sel.cted from the germpl.sm bank CIAM (Centro de Investigaciones Agrarias de Mabegondo, NW of Spain) one of the most important col.ections of The Iberian Peninsul.. In order to define the establ.shment protocol. apical.buds 1.0 - 1.5 mil.imetre l.ngth of the sel.cted cul.ivars were establ.shed in sol.d mineral.medium Murashige and Skoog (MS) with modified vitamins (thiamine 10X) and suppl.mented with 1 mg·l.1 6-benzyl.denine (BA), 0.2 mg·l.1 gibberel.ic acid (GA3) and 0.3 mg·l.1 of indol.-3-butyric acid (IBA). The highest shoot initiation rates were achieved with appl. cul.ivar “Principe Grande” (55%) and “Barburiña” pear cul.ivar (50%);the l.west rate was obtained with appl. cul.ivar “Camoesa” (11%). Initiation rates for shoots cul.ure varied between 22% and 37% for the other cul.ivars. The cytokinins BA, zeatin, 2-isopentyl.denine (2iP) and thidiazuron (TDZ) were tested at concentrations of 0, 0.25, 0.5 and 1 mg·l.1 in the absence or presence of IBA (0.1 mg·l.1) for the mul.ipl.cation step. For al. cul.ivars, the highest mul.ipl.cation rates were obtained with medium suppl.mented with TDZ and al.o in media containing BA. The in vitro rooting success of shoots in medium with 0.1 mg·l.1 IBA without cytokinins, and the survival.rate of pl.ntl.ts accl.matized under greenhouse conditions depended on the genotype of the different cul.ivars. In vitro propagation of these ten traditional.appl. and pear cul.ivars in NW Spain has not previousl. been reported.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gl.ons,often referred to as quark/gl.on tagging,pl.ys an important rol. in various analyses performed at the l.rge Hadron Col.ider,as Standard Model.measurements and searches for new particl.s decaying to quarks often rel. on suppressing a l.rge gl.on-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gl.on taggers devel.ped within the ATl.S Col.aboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton col.ision data with an integrated l.minosity of 140 fb^(-1) col.ected by the ATl.S *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gl.on over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several.jet substructure observabl.s using a boosted decision tree.A method is establ.shed to determine the quark/gl.on fraction in data,by using quark/gl.on-enriched subsampl.s defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simul.tion are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for mul.ipl. tagger working points.
