The term Ecology is derived from οἶκος (Greek “house” or environment), but our habitations usually overlooked in ecology or environmental studies. The expression “at home” usually means safety and comfort, but at home we are under risk of innumerous parasitic/microbial infections and contaminations/ envenomation. During the COVID-19 pandemic we were forced to stay at home, but the virus and other pathogens were also home-delivered. Education for health is highly effective in health promotion, particularly in poor areas. Thus, prophylactic interventions approaching household environment are required. The present activity aims community empowerment and engagement in controlling parasitic diseases and other infections such as Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, malaria, arboviruses etc. Inspired on the use of a house maket by Dr. Virgínia Schall to demonstrate Aedes mosquitoes breeding sites. We also employ house makets displaying pathogen vectors breeding/hiding sites. Although some makets can be opened, revealing intradomiciliary milieu, we intended to offer the public a literally “insider” view of this largely overlooked scenery. The “Interactive House”, also known as “House with no viruses and other bugsana;">” is an educative, interactive, ludic device elaborated on an inflatable igloo, with furniture and utensils crafted using reused/recycled or low-cost materials. Ischaemic heart disease(IHD)is a major cause of morbidity and mortality *** there have been major advances in this field,these patients are still a higher risk *** such,strategies to mitigate risk and tailor secondary prevention measures are of the utmost *** rehabilitation(CR),encompassing several domains including exercise training,cardiovascular risk factor optimization,nutritional and psychological assessments,as well as other ancillary interventions has shown to be one of the pillars in the contemporary management of patients with ***,CR is associated with several benefits in this population,ranging from functional capacity to improvements in *** this,there are still several issues concerning the optimal application of CR which are still not fully ascertained,such as lack of referral and completion,as well as questions related to programme design(particularly among patients with multiple comorbidities).In this review,we aim at presenting a pragmatic overview on the current role of CR in the management of individuals with IHD,while also discussing some of the caveats in the current data,as well as future concepts which could help improve the uptake and personalization of this pivotal time-tested intervention.

Quantification and Determination of Starch in Diets Using Different methodologies:Infrared Spectroscopy with Fourier Transformer,Laser Diffraction and Enzymatic analysis

A digestibility experiment was conducted in the Animal Nutrition Laboratory of the Veterinary School of the Federal University of minas Gerais (UFmG), Protocol ethics committee for work with animal experimentation CETEA/ UFmG 212/2010, in order to validate the instrumental techniques Laser Diffraction (Partica) and Infrared Spectroscopy with Fourier Transformer (FTIR) method, as replacement methods of the reference (Enzymatic analysis) Technique, of starch quantification in diets of growing pigs. The experiment lasted 12 days (7 days of adaptation to the cage and diet and 5 days of total collection). Fifteen barrows with average weight of ±25 kg and 65 days old were used for this study. A completely randomized experimental design was adopted, with split plots and subplots. The plots were the diets (1—Reference, 2—Reference + inclusion of 30% micronized soybean and 3—Reference +30% substitution of plasma) and the subplots were the techniques (Partica, FTIR and Enzymatic Technique, with five repetitions (animals) per diet). The results obtained with the Partica and FTIR techniques were compared to the reference method. There was no statistical difference (p > 5%) between these techniques evaluated in comparison to the reference method to quantify starch. However, it was observed that the FTIR technique was different from the reference method for (p > 5%) overestimating the means of evaluated samples.

Palm Red mite management with Soursop Seed Plant Residue Extracts

Raoiella indica Hirst, 1924 (Prostigmata: Tenuipalpidae), is one of the leading pest mites in palm and banana trees, however, there are few control methods available for this pest species. Therefore, this work aimed to evaluate the acaricidal effect of soursop seed extract (Annona muricata L.) on R. indica adults. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design using soursop seed extract with 7 replicates and 12 individuals of R. indica per replicate. The experimental units consisted of discs of coconut palm leaves (4 cm in diameter), with cotton moistened at the bottom of the Petri dish (10.0 × 1.2 cm) and around the disc to maintain turgor and prevent mites from escaping. The application was performed using an airbrush, connected to a calibrated compressor with a constant pressure of 1.3 psi and 1 mL of solution per repeat plate. The acaricidal effect was evaluated 24, 48, and 72 hours after spraying. mortality data were corrected and submitted to Probit analysis (p ≤ 0.05) using the statistical program R, with the LC50 and LC90 calculated for the extract. At the maximum concentration (15%), the soursop seed extract showed mortality of 70% of individuals of R. indica, and the LC50 was 6.58%. It was concluded that the soursop seed extract showed acaricidal potential on R. indica in the laboratory.

First described in Hiroshima City Hospital in 1990, Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy emerged as an important differential diagnosis for acute coronary syndrome, since this disease mimics some commemoratives presentations of acute coronary syndrome such as chest symptoms, electrocardiographic changes and cardiac injury biomarker alteration. Also, it＇s important to emphasize that, although it commonly occurs among woman, TCC can happen in males, as demonstrated in other studies which 10% of the cases occurred in male sex. In this way, this study shows the importance of Takotsubo Cardiornyopathy as a differential diagnosis for acute coronary syndrome.
