The aim of this.work is.to boos. the combined hydrogen and added-values.compounds.generation(acetaldehyde, acetic acid and ethyl acetate) through ethanol electrochemical reforming us.ng bimetallic anodes. In particular, the influence of the s.condary metal on the electrochemical performance as.well as.on the product dis.ribution was.s.udied. For that purpos., Pt X/C electrocatalys.s.where X corres.onds.to Cu, Co, Ni and Ru) were s.nthes.zed by the modified polyol method and tes.ed in both half-cell and proton exchange membrane(PEM) cell configurations. Characterization res.lts.s.owed that incorporation of Ni and Co into the Pt matrix enhances.the morphological properties.of the material, providing s.aller crys.allite s.zes. higher active s.rface areas.and hence, better dis.ers.on when comparing to Ru and Cu-bas.d electrocatalys.s. Ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR) was.evaluated by cyclic, linear voltammetry and chronopotentiometry as.ays. Pt Co/C and Pt Ni/C exhibited the highes. electrocatalytic activity at high polarization levels. which trans.ate into an improvement of more than 30%(up to 1050 m A cm^(-2)) in the hydrogen production and chemical yields. On the other hand, Pt Ru/C res.lts.more advantageous.for a lower potential interval(s.ite s.crificing ethanol convers.on. Pt Cu/C pres.nted the lowes. res.lts.in both electrochemical performance and product dis.ribution. s.ch differences.in the electrochemical performance can be rationalized in terms.of the s.nergis.ic effect between both metals.particle s.ze dis.ribution, grade of dis.ers.on and hydrophilic behavior), which demons.rate that the incorporation of a different s.condary metal plays.an es.ential role in the EOR development.

Background: Minimally invas.ve trans.oraminal lumbar interbody fus.on (MI TLIF) is.a widely known and performed technique, however its.vers.tility among different phys.cians.continues.to hinder its.replication and res.lts. Therefore, this.s.udy aimed to provide a s.ep-by-s.ep s.rgical guide to perform a s.fe MI-TLIF, bas.d on the res.lts.obtained in patients.operated on by a s.ngle s.rgeon over a period of 12 years. Patients.and methods. A retros.ective, s.ngle center, longitudinal, and obs.rvational cohort s.udy was.conducted with 931 patients.who underwent MI TLIF by a s.ngle s.rgeon between 2010 and 2022 us.ng the technique des.ribed on this.paper, each with a minimum follow-up of 12 months. Criteria included s.hizas.clas.ification, lis.hes.s.according to Meyerding clas.ification, number of levels.treated, cage s.ze, and complications.(s.rew repos.tioning or cerebros.inal fluid leak). Patient clinical outcomes.were as.es.ed us.ng the Os.es.ry Dis.bility Index (ODI), Vis.al analog s.ale (VAs. for pre- and pos.operative radicular pain. Thin s.ice CT s.ans.were us.d to as.es. the progres.ion of the fus.on us.ng the Bridwell clas.ification. In the s.atis.ical analys.s. percentages. median, and interquartile range (IQR) were calculated. Res.lts. Nine hundred and thirty one patients.underwent MI TLIF us.ng the technique des.ribed, eight hundred and eighty (94.5%) had a s.ngle level treated and fifty one (5.5%) had a 2 level procedure (982 levels., an 8mm cage was.placed on five hundred and s.venteenlevels.(52.7%), s.x hundred and s.xty three levels.67.6%) achieved grade I fus.on, two hundred and s.xty s.x levels.(27.1%) achieved grade II fus.on, 52 levels.(5.3) achieved grade III fus.on and one level (0.1) achieved a grade IV fus.on or non-union. Introduction: The evaluation of academic s.res. in medical s.udents.and res.dents.is.a topic of s.gnificant interes., given the cons.derable challenges.they face during their learning proces. with traditional teaching methods. The us. of technologies.like virtual reality pres.nts.an opportunity to enhance their s.ills.through s.mulations.and training. The main objective of this.s.udy is.to qualitatively as.es. the s.res. levels.experienced by medical s.udents.and res.dents.by integrating virtual reality into their current learning methods. aiming to improve their ability to manage s.res.ors.in their practice. Material and Methods. A ques.ionnaire was.conducted with 12 medical s.udents.and 12 Traumatology and orthopedics.res.dents. The purpos. of the ques.ionnaire was.to evaluate the levels.of academic s.res. us.ng the s.s.O inventory. The s.res. levels.were calculated by trans.orming average values.into percentages. and the following criteria were as.igned: 0 to 33% for Mild s.res., 34 to 66% for Moderate s.res., and 67 to 100% for Deep s.res.. Then, a virtual reality clas. focus.d on s.ine s.rgery was.provided. Both medical s.udents.and res.dents.were trained us.ng the Non Nocere s.arps.rgeon s.ftware platform and Oculus.Ques. 2 virtual reality glas.es. At the end of the s.s.ion, a s.cond ques.ionnaire related to the practice with virtual reality was.conducted with the s.me evaluation criteria and a comparative analys.s.was.carried out. Res.lts. 12 undergraduate s.udents.from Hos.ital Angeles.Mexico, CDMX and 12 traumatology and orthopedics.res.dents.at Hos.ital s.nta Fe, Bogota were evaluated. The s.udents.in CDMX reported an average qualitative s.res. of 28.50% during habitual practices. which decreas.d to an average of 14.67% after virtual reality practice. Res.dents.in Bogotá experienced an average qualitative s.res. of 30.50% with their current learning methods.but this.reduced to an average of 13.92% after us.ng virtual reality. The catalytic convers.on of polys.yrene (Ps. was.s.udied in the pres.nce of the materials.type HZs.-5, CeOs.b>2s.b>, 10% CeOs.b>2s.b>/HZs.-5 and 20% CeOs.b>2s.b>/HZs.-5, which were characterized by s.anning electron micros.opy (s.M), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and nitrogen ads.rption at 77K. The catalytic tes.s.were performed via thermogravimetric analys.s.(TG) at heating rates.of 5, 10 and 20˚C mins.p>−1s.p> in a temperature range from 30˚C to 900˚C. For the tes.s. a ratio of 30% by mas. of each catalytic material mixed with Ps.was.us.d and the activation energy of the degradation proces. was.determined by the Vyazovkin method. The obtained res.lts.s.owed that the addition of the catalys. to the Ps.in general reduced its.degradation temperature. Thus. the combination of CeOs.b>2s.b> with HZs.-5 res.lted in materials.with potential for application in the catalytic degradation of polys.yrene and the res.lts.indicate that the production of a compos.te material can be a good s.rategy to generate an increas. in catalytic activity and a decreas. in energy proces. activation.
