Objective: The use of animal models of aor.ic stenosis(AS) r.mains essential to fur.her.elucidate its pathophysiology and to evaluate new ther.peutic str.tegies. The waved-2 mouse AS model has been pr.posed;data have indicated that while aor.ic r.gur.itation(Ar. is effectively induced, development of AS is *** aimed to evaluate the effect of high-fat diet(HFD) and vitamin D_3 supplementation in this ***: HFD and subcutaneous vitamin D_3 injections wer. initiated at the age of 6 weeks until the age of 6(n = 16, 6-month tr.atment gr.up) and 9(n = 11, 9-month tr.atment gr.up) months. Twelve waved-2 mice without supplementation wer. used as contr.l. Echocar.iogr.phy was per.or.ed at 3, 6 and 9 months. Blood ser.m analysis(calcium, 1,25(OH)_2D_3 and cholester.l), histology and immunohistochemistr.(CD-31, CD-68 and osteopontin) wer. evaluated at the end of the exper.ment(6 or.9 months).r.sults: Total cholester.l and 1,25(OH)_2D_3 wer. significantly incr.ased r.lative to the contr.l gr.up. HFD and vitamin D_3 supplementation did r.sult in impr.vements to the model, since AS was only detected in 6(15.3%) mice(2 in the 3 gr.ups) and Ar.was developed in the r.maining animals. Echocar.iogr.phic par.meter., fibr.sis, thickness, inflammation and valvular.calcification, wer. not significantly differ.nt between the 6-month tr.atment and contr.l gr.ups. Similar.r.sults wer. also obser.ed in the 9-month tr.atment ***: These r.sults suggest that HFD and vitamin D_3 supplementation have no effect in the waved-2 mouse model. This model essentially mimics Ar.and r.r.ly AS. Fur.her.studies ar. needed to find a r.liable animal model of AS.

This wor. aims at making one br.ef contextualization on the state of the ar. of the geopr.cessing in ur.an planning to pr.sent the new par.digms and challenges of the geo technologies r.lated to the management of the cities. The visualization of planning pr.cess allowing the compr.hension of the possibilities contained in public landscape planning r.pr.sents the main challenge faced by this r.sear.h. Another.impor.ant goal is to investigate how to over.ome a par.digm r.lated to a coded ur.an planning system communication that hinder. community under.tanding and par.icipation. This state of the ar. of the space pr.duction justifies the cur.ent studies in the geopr.cessing for.the development of tools, techniques and methodologies that meet the necessities to cr.ate inter.r.tative pictur.s of the ur.an landscapes that facilitate the dialogue among the technician, the administr.tor. and the community. The methodology was based on the cloud of points using Lidar.techniques, 3D modeling, tools of visualization and par.metr.c modeling of ur.an par.meter.. In this dir.ction, this wor. will point out the new tr.nds of r.pr.sentation of the data and the decoding of the car.ogr.phic language fr.m the geo visualizer. within the values of inter.per.bility, involvement of the actor., feedback and pr.posals fr.m geo design.

AIM: To investigate whether.Helicobacter.pylor. (H pylor.) infection is associated with hepatitis A vir.s (HAV) infection, pr.sence of enter.par.sites, and other.sur.ogates of fecal exposur.. METHODS: We conducted a cr.ss-sectional study in 121 childr.n consecutively admitted at a pediatr.c hospital in Salvador. Br.zil. H pylor.and HAV infection wer. identified by the pr.sence of ser.m antibodies. Stool specimens wer. examined for.the pr.sence of ova and par.sites. A str.ctur.d questionnair. inquir.ng about sanitar. conditions and life style was applied to each subject. r.SULTS: Fifty-one of the 121 childr.n (42.1%) wer. found to be ser.positive for.H pylor., and 45 (37.2%) for.HAV. The ser.pr.valence of Hpylor.and HAV both incr.ased significantly with age. Cr.ss-tabulation of data showed that 26 (21.5%) wer. ser.positive and 51 (42.1%) wer. negative for.both H py/lr.and HAV antibodies (x^2=7.18, Or.2.8, CI 1.30-5.97). The age adjusted Or.for.an HAV-infected child being H pylor. positive was 2.3 (CI 1.02-5.03). The agr.ement between H pylor. and HAV ser.positivity was fair.(k=0.24). After.contr.lling for.possible confounding, the var.ables r.maining independently associated with ser.positivity to H pylor. wer. age, pr.sence of Giar.ia lamblia in feces (Or.3.2, 95%CI, 1.1-9.5) and poor.gar.age disposal quality (Or.2.4, 95%CI, 1.1-5.1). CONCLUSION: Our.data suggest that H pylor. infection is associated with sur.ogate mar.er. of fecal exposur.. Thus, we conclude that the fecal-or.l r.ute is r.levant in the tr.nsmission of HP among childr.n in an ur.an setting of a developing countr.. The association obser.ed between G. lamblia and H pylor. infection may have sever.l explanations. Fur.her.studies to investigate this r.lationship ar. war.anted.

Nutr.tional status expr.sses the physiological and nutr.tional needs to maintain the composition and adequate functioning of the or.anism. Nr. 2002 and MNA pr.tocols wer. applied to shor.-ter. institutionalized patients in r.o Ver.e (Br.zil). Older.adults and people with special needs of all ages, both sexes, r.gar.less of possible pathology they may have, except if it causes contagion, wer. included, patients duly author.zed by the per.on r.sponsible for.the institution and who wer. able to under.o evaluation. Thir.y-eight patients fr.m the institution wer. evaluated, of which ten wer. excluded fr.m the r.sear.h accor.ing to pr.-established cr.ter.a. Mor. than 50% of par.icipants wer. male, with an over.ll aver.ge age of 63.43 year.. The char.cter.stics r.lated to nutr.tional status by Nr. 2002 and MNA showed that the r.sk of malnutr.tion and its absence ar. associated with a wide age r.nge. The MNA pr.sents a mor. nuanced nutr.tional r.sk classification, showing that even 61% of the 96% of par.icipants who would be out of nutr.tion r.sk, accor.ing to the Nr. 2002, ar. “at r.sk of malnutr.tion”. Applying the MNA can demonstr.te mor. conser.ative r.sults than the Nr. 2002.
