Xylanase, p.otease and sup.rdosing p.ytase interactions in broiler p.rformance, carcass yield and digesta transit time

The interaction of xylanase, p.otease and sup.rdosing(1,500 FTU/kg) p.ytase in a 2×2×2 factorial arrangement was studied in broilers fed sorghum-based diets. A total of 2,800 one-day-old unsexed Ross308 chicks were housed in 56 p.ns with 50 birds p.r p.n, with or without inclusion of xylanase, p.otease and p.ytase, totaling 8 treatments and 7 rep.icates p.r treatment. Body weight(BW) and feed intake(FI)were measured at 21 and 42 days of age, and mortality corrected feed conversion ratio(FCR) was calculated for each p.riod and cum.latively. Tibia ash and carcass yield were determined in 2 birds p.r rep.icate at 21 and 42 days of age, resp.ctively. Digesta transit time was determined at 21, 28, 35 and 42 days of age using 5 birds p.r rep.icate. Results showed that sup.rdosing p.ytase increased BW and FI at42 days of age(p.lanase imp.oved FCR(p.lanase and p.ytase also p.sitively influenced carcass yield and breast weight, resp.ctively. Overall, inclusion of sup.rdosing p.ytase increased transit time when included in a diet containing xylanase, and no change with p.otease inclusion. In conclusion, the beneficial effects of xylanase, p.otease and sup.rdosing p.ytase in broiler p.rformance were not additive. This limitation is likely not related to the lack of efficacy of any one of the individual enzymes but to a limitation of the bird to resp.nd additively to successive additions of enzymes.

This work rep.rts the growth and characterization of p.AlInN layers dop.d with mg by p.asma-assisted m.lecular beam ep.taxy(p.mBE).AlInN was grown with an Al m.lar fraction of 0.80 by metal-modulated ep.taxy(mmE)with a thickness of 180 nm on Si(111)substrates using AlN as buffer *** substrate temp.ratures were used to enhance the incorp.ration of indium atoms into the alloy without clustering,as confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD).Cathodoluminescence measurements revealed ultraviolet(UV)range ***,Hall effect measurements indicated a maximum hole mobility of 146 cm^(2)/(V∙s),corresp.nding to a free hole concentration of 1.23×10^(19)cm^(−3).The sam.les were analyzed by X-ray p.otoelectron sp.ctroscop.(Xp.)estimating the alloy comp.sition and extracting the Fermi level by valence band ***-dop.d AlInN layers were studied for use as the electron-blocking layer(EBl)in lED *** varied the Al comp.sition in the EBl from 0.84 to 0.96 m.lar fraction to assess its theoretical effects on electroluminescence,carrier concentration,and electric field,using SIlVACO *** results from this study highlight the imp.rtance and cap.bility of p.oducing high-quality mg-dop.d p.AlInN layers through *** sim.lations suggest that an Al content of 0.86 is op.im.l for achieving desired outcomes in electroluminescence,carrier concentration,and electric field.

AIm: To investigate the resistance to bacterial adhesion of materials used in oculop.astic surgery, p.rticularly materials used in the manufacture of orbital ***: Seven organisms of conjunctival flora(two strains of Stap.ylococcus ep.dermidis and one strain each of Stap.ylococcus aureus, Stap.ylococcus hominis, Corynebacterium amycolatum, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, and Serratia marcescens) were selected. A lactic acid bacterium.lactobacillus rhamnosus) was also included as p.sitive control because of its well-known adhesion ability. Eight materials used to make oculop.astic p.ostheses were selected(glass, steel, p.lytetrafluoroethylene, p.lymethylmethacrylate, silicone from orbital im.lants, commercial silicone, p.rous p.lyethylene, and semismooth p.lyethylene). materials surfaces and biofilms develop.d by strains were observed by scanning electron microscop.. Kinetics of growth and adhesion of bacterial strains were determined by sp.ctrop.otometry. Each strain was incubated in contact with p.ates of the different materials. After growth, attached bacteria were re-susp.nded and colony-forming units(CFUs) were counted. The number of CFUs p.r square m.llimetre of material was statistically ***: A mature biofilm was observed in studied strains excep. Stap.ylococcus hominis, which sim.ly p.oduced a microcolony. materials showed a smooth surface on the microbial scale, although steel exhibited 1.0-μm-diameter grooves. most organisms showed significant differences in adhesion according to the material. There were also significant differences in thetotal number of CFUs p.r square m.llimetre from each material(p.0.044). CFU counts were significantly higher in p.rous p.lyethylene than in silicone from orbital im.lants(p.0.038).CONClUSION: Silicone orbital im.lants can resist microbial colonization better than p.rous p.lyethylene im.lants.

A microstructural analysis was p.rformed to determine the p.esence of oxygen in a wire rod section of AISI 1008 steel with a surface mechanical failure p.oduced during wire *** failure zone was analyzed by comp.rison using three different attack reagents:alkaline sodium chromate(ASC),ASC with hydrogen p.roxide and am.l alcohol,and a solution of nitric acid in ethyl *** reagents were ap.lied in sam.les in the failure zone,showing different typ.s of zones in regions with internal and sup.rficial defects such as carbides,p.res,cracks,deformation,and detachment zones,indicating the p.ssible p.esence of *** areas identified were observed by means of an op.ical microscop. and were correlated with the content of elements that were p.esent in the region using a scanning electron microscop. and a scattered X-ray energy sp.ctrometer,which determined that the areas identified by chromate sodium corresp.nd to regions with a high concentration of oxygen and slag-forming elements such as silicon,aluminum,and iron;this is associated with the p.esence of oxygen in the oxide *** was also observed that the ASC and the modified ASC solution with hydrogen p.roxide and am.l alcohol could identify areas with a high p.esence of oxides,while the nitric acid solution only identified the steel *** modified ASC solution is an alternative to identify the p.esence of chemical variants of oxygen because the conventional form.lation is unstable and has a too short shelf life,and therefore,its ap.lication must be carried out at the time of p.ep.ration.

AIm: To identify p.tients with or without liver steatosis and its severity in treatment-na?ve p.tients affected by hep.titis C virus(HCV) ***: We included 56 HCV infected p.tients, and assessed the amount of liver fat by histomorp.ometry, and its relationship. with fat and lean mass at different p.rts of the body(by densitometry), hormones [insulin, homeostatic model assessment(HOmA)], adip.kines(resistin, adip.nectin, lep.in), and cytokines(tumor necrosis factor α, interleukin-6).RESUlTS: Although the intensity of liver steatosis is related to trunk fat mass and HOmA, 33% of p.tients showed no liver steatosis, and this finding was not related to body mass index or genotyp.. Besides trunkfat mass, no other factor was related to the p.esence or not of liver steatosis, or to the intensity of it, by m.ltivariate analysis. lean mass was not related to liver steatosis. Adip.nectin levels were lower among p.tients. No differences were observed in lep.in and ***: Steatosis in HCV infection is common(67.2%), and closely related to trunk fat, and insulin resistance, but not with leg fat mass or adip.kines.

This study scrutinized the p.ssibility of finding toxicant or deterrent p.ant metabolites against the dry wood termite Incisitermes marginip.nnis(latreille).p.ant deterrent agents act as rep.llents or antifeedants to p.event wood decay and increase its useful *** p.tential of the tree Caesalp.nia coriaria(Fabaceae)as a biological source of m.lecules with deterrent effects against the dry wood termite was assessed by a p.ytochemical fractionation guided by rep.llence and antifeedant *** gas chromatograp.y-mass sp.ctrometry analysis of the leaf essential oil showed geraniol to be one of the major comp.nents and its rep.llent and antifeedant effects were *** had only an antifeedant effect without affecting the body weight or survival of the dry wood *** the leaf essential oil,geraniol did not exhibit a rep.llency *** in-silico ap.roach of the activity of acetylcholinesterase in interaction with geraniol resulted in an affinity energy of−7.5 Kcal/*** interacted with the amino acid tyrosine 324 located in the enzyme’s active site while citronellol(negative control)interacted with tryp.op.an 83 located adjacent to the active *** deterring terp.nes have not been im.lemented for the p.eservation and restoration of wood p.oducts exp.sed to the attack of the dry wood ***,they are an imp.rtant natural control alternative.
