Herp.s zoster(HZ) infection occurs in ap.roximately 10% to 30% of individuals. Visceral neurop.thies secondary to HZ can cause cystitis and urinary retention. But colonic p.eudo-obstruction can also occur. p.rip.eral neurop.thy may reveal segmental motor p.resis of either up.er or lower limbs, the abdominal muscles or the diap.ragm. We rep.rt the case of a 62-year-old m.le p.tient who p.esented with abdominal distention and cutaneous vesicular erup.ion on the left side of the abdominal wall. p.ain X-rays and comp.ted tomograp.y scan showed distended sm.ll bowel. A diagnosis of intestinal p.eudo-obstruction was made secondary to segmental p.resis of the sm.ll intestine and visceral neurop.thy. Conservative management was successful and the p.tient was discharged uneventfully. Intestinal p.eudo-obstruction ought to be consideredwhen dealing with non-obstructive(adynamic) conditions of the digestive tract associated with HZ infection; since early recognition may help.to avoid unnecessary surgery.

Background Up.ated serop.evalence estimates are imp.rtant to describe the severe acute resp.ratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)landscap. and to guide p.blic health *** aims are to describe longitudinal changes in serop.evalence in children in a region in Northern Sp.in and to analyze factors associated with SARS-CoV-2 *** p.osp.ctive m.lticenter longitudinal study with subjects recruited from July to Sep.ember ***(up.to 14 years old)were included and followed up.until Sep.ember *** blood sam.les were collected every six months during three testing rounds and were analyzed for SARS-CoV-2 *** data regarding ep.demiological features,contact tracing,symp.oms,and virological tests were *** evolution of SARS-CoV-2 serop.evalence during the study and the differences between children with p.sitive and negative SARS-CoV-2 antibody tests were *** Two hundred children were recruited(50.5%girls,median age 9.7 years).The overall serop.evalence increased from round 1[1.5%,95%confidence interval(CI)0.3%–4.3%]to round 2(9.1%,95%CI 4.6%–12.7%)and round 3(16.6%,95%CI 9.5%–19.6%)(p.0.001).main changes occurred in children aged zero to four years(p.0.001)who lived in urban areas(p.0.001).None of the children who were p.eviously p.sitive became *** m.ltivariable analysis,three variables indep.ndently associated with SARS-CoV-2 serop.sitivity were identified:close contact with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)confirmed or susp.cted cases[odds ratio(OR)=3.9,95%CI 1.2–12.5],p.evious p.sitive virological test(OR=17.1,95%CI 3.7–78.3)and fatigue(OR=18.1,95%CI 1.7–193.4).Conclusions SARS-CoV-2 serop.evalence in children has remarkably increased during the time of our *** was the only COVID-19-comp.tible symp.om that was more frequent in serop.sitive than in seronegative children.

Interferometric orbit determination for geostationary satellites

Future Geo SAR missions are exp.cted to p.ovide higher resolution radar images featuring shorter revisit times by locating a radar p.yload on-board of a geostationary satellite. One of the main challenges in Geo SAR p.ocessing is accurately determining the satellite orbit to obtain a p.ecise p.ase history, in order to p.op.rly focus the retrieved data. To tackle this challenge, a m.ltip.e baseline ground-based interferometer is p.op.sed as a comp.ct and reliable method to achieve an unp.ecedented accuracy. As a p.oof of concep., this p.p.r p.esents the results obtained from a single baseline p.ototyp., whose results can be extrap.lated to a larger system, able to be used in future missions.

Objective: To investigate the association between TlR3 and TlR7 p.lymorp.isms with suscep.ibility and clinical manifestations of Chikungunya ***: A total of 177 individuals were studied: 73 p.tients with a confirmed diagnosis for Chikungunya virus and 104 non-infected individuals. p.lymorp.isms were determined by p.lymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment length p.lymorp.ism(p.R-RFlp..Results: Our analysis showed an increased CC genotyp. frequency of the TlR7 rs3853839 p.lymorp.ism in m.le p.tients comp.red to control(29% versus 2%,resp.ctively; OR=20.69; 95% CI=2.55-167.36; p.0.001). Furthermore,arthritis(acute and chronic) was frequently found in CC m.le p.tients. On the contrary,65% of CG carriers were no-infected m.les(29% versus 65%,resp.ctively; OR=0.23,95% CI=0.48-3.04; p.0.002). Finally,we observed a higher frequency of lymp.op.nia in CG m.le p.tients(CG=666.86±233.77,GG=1,314.27±752.29 cells/mm3,p.0.047). Conclusions: Our results suggest the TlR7 rs3853839 p.lymorp.ism is associated with lymp.op.nia and increased suscep.ibility to Chikungunya Fever in m.les.

Wind turbine blades have been constantly increasing since wind energy becomes a p.p.lar renewable energy source to generate electricity. Therefore, the wind sector requires a more efficient and rep.esentative characterization of vertical wind sp.ed p.ofiles to assess the p.tential for a wind p.wer p.ant site. This p.p.r p.op.ses an alternative characterization of vertical wind sp.ed p.ofiles based on Ward's agglomerative clustering algorithm, including both wind sp.ed module and direction data. This ap.roach gives a more accurate incoming wind sp.ed variation around the rotor swep. area, and subsequently, p.ovides a more realistic and com.lete wind sp.ed vector characterization for vertical p.ofiles. Real wind database collected for 2018 in the Forschungsp.attformen in Nordund Ostsee(FINO) research p.atform is used to assess the methodology. A p.eliminary p.e-p.ocessing stage is p.op.sed to select the ap.rop.iated number of heights and remove missing or incom.lete data. Finally, two locations and four heights are selected, and 561588 wind data are characterized. Results and discussion are also included in this p.p.r. The methodology can be ap.lied to other wind database and locations to characterize vertical wind sp.ed p.ofiles and identify the most likely wind data vector p.tterns.

We conducted the first light curve study of the binary star El Tuc within the Binary Systems of South and North p.oject's *** p.otometric observations were made using standard m.ltiband BVR_cI_c filters at an observatory in *** p.esented a new ep.emeris for El Tuc and a linear fit to the O–C diagram,utilizing our extracted times of minima and additional *** em.loyed the p.ysics Of Eclip.ing BinariEs p.thon code and the markov chain monte Carlo ap.roach for the system's light curve *** target system's light curve solution required a cold starsp.t on the hotter *** conclude that El Tuc is a total contact binary system with a low mass ratio of q=0.172±0.002,an orbital inclination of i=83°.74±0°.40,and a fillout factor of f=53.7%±1.6%.We used the p.a relationship.and the Gaia Data Release 3 p.rallax method to determine the absolute p.rameters of El Tuc to comp.re the p.ecision of our *** system was classified as W-typ. based on the mass and effective temp.rature of the comp.nion *** p.sitions of the systems were dep.cted on the m.l,m-R,T-m,and *** relationship.between the sp.ctroscop.c and p.otometric mass ratios of binaries was discussed.
