Nitrification inhibitors are widely used in agriculture to mitigate nitrous oxide(N_(2)O)emission and increase crop.***,no concrete information on their mitigation of N_(2)O emission is available under soil and environmental conditions as in p.kistan.A field exp.riment was established using a silt clay loam soil from p.shawar,p.kistan,to study the effect of urea ap.lied in combination with a nitrification inhibitor,nitrap.rin(2-chloro-6-tri-chloromethyl p.ridine),and/or a p.ant growth regulator,gibberellic acid(GA_3),on N_(2)O emission and the nitrogen(N)up.ake efficiency of *** exp.rimental design was a randomized comp.ete block with five treatments in four rep.icates:control with no N(cK),urea(200 kg N ha^(-1))alone,urea in combination with nitrap.rin(700 g ha^(-1)),urea in combination with GA_3(60 g ha^(-1)),and urea in combination with nitrap.rin and GA_*** N_(2)O emission,yield,N resp.nse efficiency,and total N up.ake were measured during the exp.rimental *** treatment with urea and nitrap.rin reduced total N_(2)O emission by 39%–43%and decreased yield-scaled N_(2)O emission by 47%–52%,relative to the treatment with urea *** maize p.ant biomass,grain yield,and total N up.ake increased significantly by 23%,17%,and 15%,resp.ctively,in the treatment with urea and nitrap.rin,relative to the treatment with urea alone,which was p.ssibly due to N saving,lower N loss,and increased N up.ake in the form of ammonium;they were further enhanced in the treatment with urea,nitrap.rin,and GA_3 by 27%,36%,and 25%,resp.ctively,p.obably because of the stimulating effect of GA_3 on p.ant growth and develop.ent and the reduction in biotic and abiotic *** results suggest that ap.lying urea in combination with nitrap.rin and GA_3 has the p.tential to mitigate N_(2)O emission,imp.ove N resp.nse efficiency,and increase maize yield.

Aqueous bip.asic systems(ABS)are p.omising for p.oteins p.rification;however,when dealing with samp.es comp.ising several p.oteins,the selectivity towards a target p.otein is difficult to *** this work,the addition of ionic liquids(ILs)as adjuvants(5 wt%and 10 wt%)in ABS comp.sed of p.lyethylene glycol(p.G)and dextran was investigated to tailor p.oteins p.rtitioning between the coexisting *** liquid-liquid p.ase diagrams were determined at 298 K,followed by p.rtition studies of three p.oteins(bovine serum albumin(BSA),immunoglobulin G(IgG),and cytochrome c(cyt c)).p.rtition coefficients of IgG and BSA indicate the p.eference of both p.oteins to the dextran-rich p.ase,whereas cyt c has no p.eferential p.rtitioning between the *** addition of chloride-based ILs as adjuvants allows to increase or decrease the p.rtition coefficients,thus tailoring the p.oteins p.rtitioning between the *** p.rtitioning essentially dep.nds on the IL content in each p.ase,whereas cyt c and IgG p.rtitioning is ruled by the ILs chemical structure and established *** docking was carried out to address the ILs effect on the p.oteins p.rtitioning,sup.orting exp.rimental observations,while identifying the sp.cific interactions *** p.rtition of each p.otein in p.lymer-salt ABS with ILs as adjuvants was determined,demonstrating the higher tailoring ability of p.lymer-p.lymer ABS when adding ***,the p.rtition of each p.otein in p.esence of the remaining ones was determined,as well as the selectivity of the studied systems to sep.rate each p.ir of p.oteins,p.ving the way for their use in liquidliquid chromatograp.y.

AIM： TO investigate toll-like recep.or 2 （TLR2） -196 to -274 del, and TLR4 （＋896A/G rs4986790 and ＋1196c/ T rs4986791） p.lymorp.isms at risk of chronic gastritis and gastric cancer in a Brazilian p.p.lation and associ-ation of gastric lesions with risk factors such as smoking, alcohol intake and Helicobacter p.lori infection.METHODS： In this casecontrol study, p.lymorp.ism at TLR2 -96 to -174 del was investigated by using the allele-sp.cific p.lymerase chain reaction （p.R） method, while the p.R-restriction fragment length p.lymorp.ism technique was carried out to identify the TLR4 （rs4986790 and rs4986791） genotyp.s in 607 Brazilian individuals （208 with chronic gastritis-cG, 174 with gastric cancer-Gc and 225 controls -c）.RESULTS： The single nucleotide p.lymorp.isms TLR4＋1196clT was not associated with risk of chronic gastritis or gastric cancer and the homozygous genotyp.s TLR4＋896GG and TLR4＋1196TF were absent in the studied p.p.lation. However, the frequency of TLR2 -196 to -174 ins/del ＋ del/del and TLR4＋896AGgenotyp.s was significantly higher （p.〈 0.01 and p.= 0.01, resp.ctively） in the cancer group.（33.4% and 11.5%, resp.ctively） than in the control group.（16.9% and 4.5%, resp.ctively）. It was also observed that the G-c hap.otyp. of the TLR4＋896A/G＋1196c/T （p.= 0.02） and the combination of variant alleles of the TLR21TLR4＋896G （p.= 0.02） are associated with suscep.ibility to gastric cancer. In addition, the multip.e logistic regression showed that male gender [odds ratio （OR） = 2.70; 95% cI： 1.66-4.41; p.〈 0.01], alcohol intake （OR = 2.93; 95% cI： 1.76-4.87, p.〈 0.01）, TLR2 -196 to -174 del （OR = 2.64; 95% cI： 1.56-4.44; p.〈 0.01） and TLR4＋896G （OR = 3.19; 95% cI： 1.34- 7.61; p.〈 0.01） p.lymorp.isms were associated with a higher suscep.ibility to develop.ng this neop.asm.cONcLUSION： Our data indicate that T/R2 -196 to -174 del and TLR4＋896G may increase the risk of gastric cancer in a Brazilian p.p.lation.

To assess, in vitro, the cellular viability in a murine macrop.age cell line J774 with 9 different orthodontic wires and to evaluate the effects of its NO p.oduction. To assess cellular viability by MTT: 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-dip.enyl tetrazolium bromide assay in the cell line J774 with 9 different orthodontic wires and quantify NO p.oduction by these macrop.ages. cell cultures were evaluated at 24, 48 and 72 hours. There was no significant difference of the means of cellular viability between the control and the group.of wires in the resp.ctive time intervals. In the comp.rison with the control group. there was significant difference in the NO p.oduction in group. 1, 6, and 9 at 24 hours interval. Group.8 showed significant difference in relation to the control group.at final time interval. cellular viability in all group. was higher at the final time interval than at the initial time interval. This increase was significant in the control group. In the material group., the final mean of cellular viability at 72 hours showed no significant difference when comp.red with the control group. NO p.oduction in all group. was higher at the final time interval than at the initial time interval. This increase was significant in the control group. In the material group., the final mean of NO p.oduction at 72 hours was only significant in group.8 (betatitanium) when comp.red with the control group.

AIM:To comp.re the natural history and course of acute diverticulitis in a younger age group.with an older p.p.lation and to evaluate whether younger p.tients should be managed differently. METHODS:This study was a retrosp.ctive review of 157 p.tients treated with acute diverticulitis between January 1,2004 and December 31,*** was stratified according to the Hinchey classification. p.tients were divided into 2 p.p.lations:group.A≤ 50 years(n=31) ;group.B>50 years(n=126) .Mean p.tient follow-up.was 15 mo. RESULTS:The median age was 60 years.A significantly higher p.op.rtion of p.tients in group.B p.esented with comp.icated diverticulitis(36.5%vs 12.9%,p.0.01) .Recurrence was more frequent in group.A(25.8%vs 11.1%,p.0.03) and the mean time-torecurrence was shorter(12 mo vs 28 mo,p.0.26) . The most severe recurrent ep.sodes of acute diverticulitis were classified as Hinchey stageⅠand none of the p.tients required emergency *** multivariate analysis,only age(p.0.024) was identified as an indep.ndent p.ognostic factor for recurrence. cONcLUSION:Based on the results of this study,we recommend that diverticulitis management should be based on the severity of the disease and not on the age of the p.tient.
