Spinal cord injury results in the loss of sensory,motor,and autonomic functions,which almost always produces permanent physical ***,in the search for more effective treatments than those already applied for years,which are not entirely efficient,researches have been able to demonstrate the potential of biological strategies using biomaterials to tissue manufacturing through bioengineering and stem cell therapy as a neuroregenerative approach,seeking to promote neuronal recovery after spinal cord *** of these strategies has been developed and meticulously evaluated in several animal models with the aim of analyzing the potential of interventions for neuronal repair and,consequently,boosting functional *** the majority of experimental research has been conducted in rodents,there is increasing recognition of the importance,and need,of evaluating the safety and efficacy of these interventions in non-human primates before moving to clinical trials involving therapies potentially promising in *** article is a literature review from databases(PubMed,Science Direct,Elsevier,Scielo,Redalyc,Cochrane,and NCBI)from 10 years ago to date,using keywords(spinal cord injury,cell therapy,non-human primates,humans,and bioengineering in spinal cord injury).From 110 retrieved articles,after two selection rounds based on inclusion and exclusion criteria,21 articles were ***,this review arises from the need to recognize the experimental therapeutic advances applied in non-human primates and even humans,aimed at deepening these strategies and identifying the advantages and influence of the results on extrapolation for clinical applicability in humans.

oxygen-evolving Sno_(2)-based Ceramic Anodes in Aluminium Electrolysis

This study deals with Sno2-based ceramic anodes doped with Sb203 and Cuo, aiming at contributing new data regarding their electrochemical behavior in cryolite melts. The performances of the anodes were evaluated by anodic polarization, cyclic voltammetry, and current efficiency and corrosion measurements. The investigation proves that the anodic process of Sno2-based inert anodes occurs at a low overvoltage and the oxygen discharge takes place in one step with an exchange of two electrons. The current efficiency and corrosion were proved to be dependent on the electrolysis parameters and composition of electrolysis bath. For a long term electrolysis, the dissolution of the anode in the cryolite-alumina melt produced small aluminium contamination（ca. 0.2%, mass fraction）.

Soil organic carbon storage in forest restoration models and environmental conditions

The scale of forest and landscape restoration is expected to increase during the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and its contribution to the provision of critical ecosystem services to *** models of forest restoration may improve ecosystem services,including soil organic carbon(SoC)storage.A review was carried out to access:(1)the variability of SoC storage between worldwide forest restoration models and,(2)the effects of climate,soil class,soil texture,and vegetation type on SoC *** reviewed 119 primary studies with information on SoC and soil texture for different forest restoration *** restoration models were grouped into four categories:natural regeneration,monocultures,agroforestry,and mixed *** data was extracted from these four restoration models,other land uses(cropland,bare land,grassland,and natural forest),climate regimes,and soil *** SoC storage in the forest restoration models and other land uses at a global scale ranged between 0.1 to 514 Mg ha^(-1).The overall mean value for SoC storage was higher for natural regeneration(112 Mg ha^(-1)),followed by agroforestry(74 Mg ha^(-1)),mixed forest(73 Mg ha^(-1)),and monocultures(68 Mg ha^(-1)).However,the average SoC storage was similar among the four restoration models in the moist warm climate *** SoC storage mean value in the moist cool zone was 23%higher than the dry cool zone(81 and 62 Mg ha^(-1),respectively),and 50%higher for the moist warm zone when compared to the dry warm climatic zone(74 and 38 Mg ha^(-1),respectively).The SoC storage of the restoration models was positively related to soil depth(0.59;pontent(0.29;pobally,the mean values of SoC storage were 26,66,and 139 Mg ha^(-1) at zero-10,zero-30,and zero-100 cm depths,*** addition,sandy soils showed smaller mean values of SoC storage than medium to clay soils,especially in deeper soil ***,SoC storage was positively re

Insights on Chemical and Natech Risk Management in Japan and South Korea:A Review of Current Practices

A growing number of natural hazard-triggered technological accidents(Natech)has been reported by several researchers,and this trend is expected to continue due to climate *** a result,some governments have initiated direct efforts to manage Natech risks,particularly in the United States and ***,two surveys conducted by the organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(oECD)in 2009 and 2017 found that there was a lack of proper risk management and risk governance for Natech among oECD member states,including Japan and South *** study aimed to identify relevant regulations and practical considerations for chemical and Natech risk management from government perspectives in Japan and South *** article provides a review of the current state of risk management,emergency response,and risk communication on chemical and Natech risk management in the two countries,and concludes with a discussion of some of the issues that require improvement of the current chemical risk *** practices for chemical risk management in Japan and South Korea point to the possibility of improvements in dealing with the Natech *** practical lessons will be valuable for improving the capacity for dealing with challenges in chemical and Natech risk management.

Structure and heat capacity of the NaCeF_4 compound

This work continued our general research program on obtaining metallic cerium by electrodeposition from NaCeF4 dis-solved in different molten fluorides. The structure of NaCeF4 （cubic or hexagonal depending on the way of preparation） was estab-lished by DTA analysis, IR spectra and X-ray diffraction. The heat capacity （Cp） of NaCeF4 was measured by differential scanning calorimetry in the temperature range of 300-1093 K using the“step-method”. The Cp was fitted by an equation with a satisfactory re-sult. Heat capacity was compared with that calculated from the Neumann-Kopp rule （NKR） and the deviations observed were consis-tent with the stability of the NaCeF4 compound.

Current Efficiency, Corrosion and Structural Changes in Sno2-Sb2o3-Cuo Inert Anodes for Aluminium Electrolysis

A systematic study was conducted on current efficiency （CE）, corrosion and structural changes in Sno2-based inert anodes （made of 96wt%Sno2＋2wt%Sb2o3＋2wt%Cuo） on a laboratory Hall-Heroult aluminium cell. The influence of operating parameters and electrolyte composition on the CE and corrosion process were evaluated. The CE was found to be more than 90% and catastrophic corrosion took place at low percent of Al2o3, high percent of LiF, low cryolite ratio and high current densities. From all the structural changes that took place in the Sno2-based inert anodes, we assumed that the most important contribution was due to the migration of Cuo towards the outer limits of the constituent grains of Sno2 based ceramic. The complex process occurred during the formation of various phases and their sintering ability both directly depended on Cu/Sb molar ratio.
