Considering the recommended indications for Helicobacter pylori(***)eradication therapy and the broad spectrum of available diagnostic methods,a reliable diagnosis is mandatory both before and after eradication *** highly accurate tests should be used in clinical practice,and the sensitivity and specificity of an adequate test should exceed 90%.The choice of tests should take into account clinical circumstances,the likelihood ratio of positive and negative tests,the cost-effectiveness of the testing strategy and the availability of the *** review concerns some of the most recent developments in diagnostic methods of *** infection,namely the contribution of novel endoscopic evaluation methodologies for the diagnosis of *** infection,such as magnifying endoscopy techniques and *** addition,the diagnostic contribution of histology and the urea breath test was explored recently in specific clinical settings and patient *** studies recommend enhancing the number of biopsy fragments for the rapid urease *** culture from the gastric biopsy is the gold standard technique,and is recommended for antibiotic susceptibility *** is used for initial screening and the stool antigen test is particularly used when the urea breath test is not available,while molecular methods have gained attention mostly for detecting antibiotic resistance.

In summer 2010, twenty eight （14 Pm=2.5 samples plus 14 samples Pm2.5-10） smoke samples were collected during wildfires that occurred in central Portugal. A portable high-volume sampler was used to perform the sampling, on quartz fibre filters of coarse （Pm=2.5-10） and fine （Pm2.5） smoke samples. The carbonaceous content （elemental and organic carbon） of particulate matter was analysed by a thermal-optical technique. Subsequently, the particulate samples were solvent extracted and fractionated by vacuum flash chromatog- raphy into three different classes of organic compounds （aliphatics, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons （PAHs） and carbonyl compounds）. The organic speciation was performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry （GC-mS）. Emissions were dominated by the fine particles, which represented around 92% of the Pm10. A clear predominance of carbonaceous constituents was observed, with organic to elemental carbon （OC/EC） ratios ranging between 1.69 and 245 in both size fractions. The isoprenoid ketone 6,10,14-trimethyl-2-pentadecanone, a tracer for secondary organic aerosol formation, was one of the dominant constituents in both fine and coarse particles. Retene was the most abundant compound in all samples. Good correlations were obtained between OC and both aliphatic and PAH compounds. Pyrogenic processes, thermal release of biogenic com- pounds and secondary processing accounted for 97% of the apportioned Pm2.5 levels.

This study deals with SnO2-based ceramic anodes doped with Sb203 and CuO, aiming at contributing new data regarding their electrochemical behavior in cryolite melts. The performances of the anodes were evaluated by anodic polarization, cyclic voltammetry, and current efficiency and corrosion measurements. The investigation proves that the anodic process of SnO2-based inert anodes occurs at a low overvoltage and the oxygen discharge takes place in one step with an exchange of two electrons. The current efficiency and corrosion were proved to be dependent on the electrolysis parameters and composition of electrolysis bath. For a long term electrolysis, the dissolution of the anode in the cryolite-alumina melt produced small aluminium contamination（ca. 0.2%, mass fraction）.

AIm: To investigate the association between epidermal growth factor (EGF) +61A/G polymorphism and susceptibility to gastric cancer, through a cross-sectional study. mETHODS: Polymerase chain reaction resctriction fragment lenght polymorphism analyses were used to genotype EGF +61 in 207 patients with gastric lesions (162 patients with gastric adenocarcinomas, 45 with atrophy or intestinal metaplasia) and 984 controls. All subjects were Caucasian. RESULTS: Genotype distribution was 23.5% for GG and 76.5% for GA/AA in the control group, 18.4% for GG and 68.6% for GA/AA in the entire group with gastric lesions and 17.9% for GG and 82.1% for GA/AA in the group with gastric adenocarcinoma. No statistically significant associations were found between EGF +61 variants and risk for developing gastric cancer [odds ratios (OR) = 1.41, 95% confidence intervals (CI): 0.90-2.21, P = 0.116]. However, the stratification of individuals by gender revealed that males carrying A alleles (EGF +61A/G or AA) had an increased risk for developing gastric cancer as compared to GG homozygous males (OR = 1.55, 95% CI: 1.05-2.28, P = 0.021). CONCLUSION: In summary, we found that males who were A carriers for EGF +61 had an increased risk for developing gastric cancer. This result may be explained by the suggestion that women secrete less gastric acid than men.

background:most studies on physical fitness and detraining have been conducted on normal-weight *** results indicate that any gains regress to the untrained control values during the detraining ***,therefore,seems necessary to determine how detraining affects the different fitness parameters in obese *** aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of detraining(6 months)on kinanthropometry and the components of physical fitness after an intervention(31 months)consisting of a program of exercise and/or diet for obese ***:The participants were 18 boys,aged between 8 and 11 years,divided into E and E+D groups according to the program they *** E group followed a physical exercise program(three 90-minute sessions/week),and the E+D group the same physical exercise program plus a low calorie *** fitness was assessed by the European physical fitness test battery including flamingo balance,plate tapping,sit-andreach,standing broad jump,hand-grip strength,sit-ups,bent-arm hang,10×5-metre shuttle run,and 20-metre endurance shuttle *** Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to reveal overall intergroup differences(E and E+D groups),and measurements showing significant differences were further analysed for differences between individual groups by the mann-Whitney U ***:In both groups,changes were observed in various physical fitness parameters,especially limb speed(E group,P=0.001;E+D group,P=0.002),agility(E group,Pbic fitness(E group,P=0.009;E+D group,P=0.002).Conclusion:Detraining after a long-term intervention based on the combination of exercise program and exercise program plus diet in obese boys does not affect the changes attained during the intervention.

Due to their inherent safety, low cost, and structural stability, TiO2 nanostructures represent a suitable choice as anode materials in sodiumion batteries. In the recent years, various hypotheses have been proposed regarding the actual mechanism of the reversible insertion of sodium ions in the TiO2 structure, and previous reports are often controversial in this respect. Interestingly, when tested as binder- and conducting additive-free electrodes in laboratory-scale sodium cells, amorphous and crystalline （anatase） TiO2 nanotubular arrays obtained by simple anodic oxidation exhibit peculiar and intrinsically different electrochemical responses. In particular, after the initial electrochemical activation, anatase TiO2 shows excellent rate capability and very stable long-term cycling performance with larger specific capacities, and thus a clearly superior response compared with the amorphous counterpart. To obtain deeper insight, the present materials are thoroughly characterized by scanning electron microscopy and ex situ X-ray diffraction, and the insertion of sodium ions in the TiO2 bulk phases is systematically modeled by density functional theory calculations. The present results may contribute to the development of more systematic screening approaches to identify suitable active materials for highly efficient sodium-based energy storage systems.
