The Influence of High Tem.erature Exposure on the Wear Perform.nce of a Ni Based Alloy PTA Coating

Degradation phenom.na like wear and corrosion, m.y have their effects accelerated as com.onents operate at high tem.erature. The aim.of this work is to m.ke an indirect evaluation of the influence of high tem.erature exposure on wear behavior of Ni coatings. A Ni-Cr-m.-W alloy, was deposited with Plasm. Transferred Arc (PTA) process. An indirect approach based on the Ahrrenius relationship was used to evaluated long tim. exposures at high tem.eratures. To sim.late longer exposures at lower tem.eratures, coatings were exposed to higher tem.eratures for the sam. tim. interval. So coatings were soaked in an air furnace at 650°C, 1000°C and 1200°C. m.tal/m.tal wear behavior was evaluated by pin-on-disc tests. Pins were rem.ved from.the coatings by eletrodischarge m.chining and rubbed against a VC31 quenched and tem.ered tool steel. Two sets of wear tests were run at 2m.s, for different loads (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0Kg) and for different sliding distances (120, 720, 1080, 1440 and 1800m..Coatings characterization was done by scanning electronic m.croscopy and Vickers m.crohardness. Results showed as tem.erature is increased, coatings wear perform.nce is altered, and this is associated with m.crostructural changes.

Air pollution has becom. a critical issue in urban areas,so a broad understanding of its spatiotem.oral characteristics is im.ortant to develop public *** study analyzes the spatiotem.oral variation of atm.spheric particulate m.tter(Pm.(10) and Pm.(2.5))and ozone(O_(3))in Barranquilla,Colom.ia from.m.rch 2018 to June 2019 in three m.nitoring *** average concentrations observed for the m.vil,Policía,and Tres Avem.rías stations,respectively,for Pm.(10):46.4,51.4,and 39.7μg/m.(3);for Pm.(2.5):16.1,18.1,and 15.1μg/m.(3) and for O_(3):35.0,26.6,and 33.6μg/m.(3).The results indicated spatial and tem.oral variations between the stations and the pollutants *** highest Pm.concentrations were observed in the southern part of the city,while for ozone,higher concentrations were observed in the *** variations are m.inly associated with the influence of local sources in the environm.nt of each site evaluated as well as the m.teorological conditions and transport patterns of the study *** study also verified the existence of differences in the concentrations of the studied pollutants between the dry and rainy seasons and the contribution of local sources as biom.ss burnings from.the Isla Salam.nca Natural Park and long-range transport of dust particles from.the Sahara *** study provides a scientific baseline for understanding air quality in the city,which enables policy m.kers to adopt efficient m.asures that jointly prevent and control pollution.

The effect of an erbium.doped fiber am.lifier （EDFA） placed inside the fiber ring of a cavity ring down （CRD） configuration is studied. The lim.tations and advantages of this configuration are discussed, and the study of the ring-down tim. as a function of the current applied and gain to the EDFA is also presented. In this case, the power fluctuations in the output signal are strongly dependent on the cavity ring-down tim. with the EDFA gain.

Extensins （EXTs） are highly repetitive plant O-glycoproteins that require several post-translational m.difi- cations （PTm.） to becom. functional in plant cell walls. First, they are hydroxylated on contiguous proline residues; then they are O-glycosylated on hydroxyproline and serine. After secretion into the apoplast, O-glycosylated EXTs form.a tridim.nsional network organized by inter- and intra-Tyr linkages. Recent studies have m.de significant progress in the identification of the enzym.tic m.chinery required to process EXTs, which includes prolyl 4-hydroxylases, glycosyltransferases, papain-type cysteine endopeptidases, and peroxidases. EXTs are abundant in plant tissues and are particularly im.ortant in rapidly expanding root hairs and pollen tubes, which grow in a polar m.nner. Sm.ll changes in EXT PTm. affect fastgrowing cells, although the m.lecular m.chanism. underlying this regulation are unknown. In this review, we highlight recent advances in our understanding of EXT m.difications throughout the secretory pathway, EXT assem.ly in cell walls, and possible sensing m.chanism. involving the Catharanthus roseus cell surface sensor receptor-like kinases located at the interface between the apoplast and the cytoplasm.c side of the plasm. m.m.rane.
