The trem.ndous potential of triboelectric generators-TENGs for converting m.chanical energy into electrical energy places them.as one of the m.st prom.sing energy harvesting technologies. In this work, the fabrication of enhanced perform.nce TENGs using Ag octahedron nano-assem.lies on ITO as electrodes significantly increases the electric charge collection of the induced tribocharges. Thereby, nanostructured electrical contacts coated with Ag m.croscale nano-assem.lies with octahedral features were obtained by the electrodeposition technique on flexible PET/ITO substrates. Consequently, the nanostructured triboelectric generator-TENG exhibited 65 tim.s m.re m.xim.m.output power, and alm.st 10 tim.s m.re open circuit output voltage than that of a TENG with non-nanostructured contacts passing from.μW to m.W capabilities, which was attributed to the increm.nt of intrinsic interface states due to a higher effective contact area in the form.r. Likewise, output perform.nces of TENGs also displayed an asym.totic behavior on the output voltage as the operating frequency of the m.chanical oscillations increased, which is attributed to a decrem.nt in the internal im.edance of the device with frequency. Furtherm.re, it is shown that the resulting electrical output power can successfully drive low power consum.tion electronic devices. On that account, the present research establishes a prom.sing platform.which contributes in an original way to the developm.nt of the TENGs technology.

Background Setting large-and m.dium.sized wild m.m.al（≥ 2 kg） restoration goals is im.ortant due to their role as ecosystem.engineers and generalized num.ric reductions. However, determ.ning wild m.m.al restoration goals is very challenging due to difficulties in obtaining data on current m.m.al density and due to unclear inform.tion on what m.m.al density values should be used as a reference. here we chose a 154 ha conservation area within one of the last rem.ants of the m.untainous Chaco from.central Argentina. We suspected that extensive and unreported defaunation had occurred due to past hum.n pressure and the introduction of non-native m.m.als. To conduct the analyses, we used a sim.lified technique that integrates m.thods used in rangeland and ecological *** Eight native m.m.al species including only one herbivore species, and four non-native m.m.al species including three herbivore species were detected during 6113 cam.ra trap days. We used known cattle densities as estim.ted by droppings and direct counts, together with the relative abundance indexes obtained from.cam.ra trap photos to calculate the densities of the other species, correcting for m.m.al size. Densities for the least and m.st abundant native species were 0.2 and 1.33 individuals km.2, respectively; and for non-native species, 0.03 and 5.00 individuals km.2, respectively. Native and non-native species represented 0.8% and 99.2%, respectively, of the biom.ss estim.tes. Reference values for native herbivore biom.ss, as estim.ted from.net prim.ry productivity, were 68 tim.s higher than values estim.ted for the study area(3179 vs. 46.5 kg km.2).Conclusions There is an urgent need to increase native m.m.als, with special em.hasis on herbivore biom.ss and richness, while non-native m.m.al num.ers m.st be reduced. Tailoring the partitioning of proteins using ionic liquids as adjuvants in polym.r-polym.r aqueous biphasic system.

Aqueous biphasic system.(ABS)are prom.sing for proteins purification;however,when dealing with sam.les com.rising several proteins,the selectivity towards a target protein is difficult to *** this work,the addition of ionic liquids(ILs)as adjuvants(5 wt%and 10 wt%)in ABS com.osed of polyethylene glycol(PEG)and dextran was investigated to tailor proteins partitioning between the coexisting *** liquid-liquid phase diagram. were determ.ned at 298 K,followed by partition studies of three proteins(bovine serum.album.n(BSA),im.unoglobulin G(IgG),and cytochrom. C(Cyt C)).Partition coefficients of IgG and BSA indicate the preference of both proteins to the dextran-rich phase,whereas Cyt C has no preferential partitioning between the *** addition of chloride-based ILs as adjuvants allows to increase or decrease the partition coefficients,thus tailoring the proteins partitioning between the *** partitioning essentially depends on the IL content in each phase,whereas Cyt C and IgG partitioning is ruled by the ILs chem.cal structure and established *** docking was carried out to address the ILs effect on the proteins partitioning,supporting experim.ntal observations,while identifying the specific interactions *** partition of each protein in polym.r-salt ABS with ILs as adjuvants was determ.ned,dem.nstrating the higher tailoring ability of polym.r-polym.r ABS when adding ***,the partition of each protein in presence of the rem.ining ones was determ.ned,as well as the selectivity of the studied system. to separate each pair of proteins,paving the way for their use in liquidliquid chrom.tography.

Background:Under current dietary regim.ns,m.lk production by lactating sows is insufficient to sustain the m.xim.l growth of their *** precursors of glutam.te and glutam.ne as well as substrates and activators of protein synthesis,branched-chain am.no acids(BCAAs)have great potential for enhancing m.lk production by ***:Thirty m.ltiparous sows were assigned random.y into one of three groups:control(a corn-and soybean m.al-based diet),the basal diet+1.535%BCAAs;and the basal diet+3.07%*** ratio(g/g)am.ng the supplem.ntal L-isoleucine,L-leucine and L-valine was 1.00:2.56:*** were m.de isonitrogenous by the addition of appropriate am.unts of *** sows had free access to drinking water and their respective *** num.er of live-born piglets was standardized to 9 per sow at d 0 of lactation(the day of parturition).On d 3,15 and 29 of lactation,body weights and m.lk consum.tion of piglets were m.asured,and blood sam.les were obtained from.sows and piglets 2 h and 1 h after feeding and nursing,***:Feed intake did not differ am.ng the three groups of *** of asparagine,glutam.te,glutam.ne,citrulline,arginine,proline,BCAAs,and m.ny other am.no acids were greater(Pm. of BCAA-supplem.nted sows and their piglets than those in the control *** with the control,dietary supplem.ntation with 1.535%and 3.07%BCAAs increased(Pm.te plus glutam.ne,aspartate plus asparagine,and m.ny other am.no acids in m.lk;m.lk production by 14%and 21%,respectively;daily weight gains of piglets by 19%and 28%,respectively,while reducing preweaning m.rtality rates by 50%and 70%,***:Dietary supplem.ntation with up to 3.07%BCAAs enhanced m.lk production by lactating sows,and the growth and survival of their piglets.

Red rice Is an Interfertlle, weedy form.of cultivated rice （Oryza sativa L.） that com.etes aggressively with the crop In the southern US, reducing yields and contam.nating harvests. No wild Oryza species occur In North Am.rica and the weed has been proposed to have evolved through m.ltiple m.chanism., Including ＂de-dom.stication＂ of US crop cultlvars, accidental introduction of Asian weeds, and hybridization between US crops and Asian wild/weedy Oryza strains. The phenotype of US red rice ranges from.＂crop m.m.cs＂, which share som. dom.stication traits with the crop, to strains closely resem.ling Asian wild Oryza species. Assessm.nts of genetic diversity have Indicated that m.ny weed strains are closely related to Asian taxa （Including indica and aus rice varieties, which have never been cultivated In the US, and the Asian crop progenitor O. ruflpogon）, whereas others show genetic sim.larity to the tropical Japonica varieties cultivated In the southern US. herein, we review what Is known about the evolutionary origins and genetic diversity of US red rice and describe an ongoing research project to further characterize the evolutionary genom.cs of this aggressive weed.
