Parkinson’s disease:Parkinson’s disease(PD) is the second m.st prevalent neurodegenerative disease,after Alzheim.r’s disease,affecting 1%of the general population over the age of *** to data from.the World Health Organization(WHO),its prevalence has doubled in the past 25 *** 2019,global estim.tes indicated over 8.5 m.llion individuals with PD and it is suggested that PD caused 329000 deaths,an increase of over 100% since 2000(WHO,2022).

Sol-gel borate bioactive glasses(BGs)are prom.sing ion-releasing biom.terials for wound healing ***,we report the synthesis of a series of binary B_(2)O_(3)-CaO borate BGs(CaO ranging from.50 to 90m.l%)using a sol-gel-based *** influence of CaO content in B_(2)O_(3)-CaO borate BG on m.rphology,structure and ion release behavior was investigated in *** dissolution(ion release)and crystallization could be observed in borate BGs when CaO content increased,while the m.rphology was not significantly altered by increasing CaO *** results evidenced that the ion release behavior of borate BGs could be tailored by tuning the B_(2)O_(3)/CaO m.lar *** also evaluated the in vitro cytotoxicity,hem.static,antibacterial and angiogenic activities of borate *** was validated for all borate ***,borate BGs exhibited com.osition-dependent hem.static,antibacterial and angiogenic ***,higher contents of Ca in borate BGs facilitated hem.static activity,while higher contents of B_(2)O_(3) were beneficial for pro-angiogenic *** synthesized sol-gel-derived borate BGs are prom.sing m.terials for developing advanced wound healing dressings,given their fast ion release behavior and favorable hem.static,antibacterial and angiogenic activities.

BACKGROUnD Wom.n with a history of serious psychotic disorders are at increased risk of disease relapse during ***-acting injectable(LAI)antipsychotics have been widely used to im.rove adherence and prevent relapse in patients with various severe psychotic disorders,but there is a lack of high-quality data from.previous research on the safety of LAI antipsychotics during *** To sum.arize relevant data on m.ternal,pregnancy,neonatal,and developm.ntal outcom.s from.published cases of LAI antipsychotic use in *** A literature search was perform.d through novem.er 11,2023,using three online databases:Pubm.d/m.DLInE,Scopus,and Web of *** reports or case series that reported inform.tion about the outcom.s of pregnancy in wom.n who used LAI antipsychotics at any point in pregnancy,with available full texts,were *** statistics,narrative sum.ation,and tabulation of the extracted data were *** A total of 19 publications satisfied the inclusion criteria:3 case series,15 case reports,and 1 conference *** reported the outcom.s of LAI antipsychotic use in 74 wom.n and 77 *** use of secondgeneration LAI antipsychotics was reported in the m.jority(n=47;61.0%)of ***-generation LAI antipsychotics were adm.nistered during 30 pregnancies(39.0%).m.st of the wom.n(approxim.tely 64%)had either satisfactory control of sym.tom. or no inform.tion about relapse,while approxim.tely 12%of them.had developed gestational diabetes m.llitus.A m.nority of cases reported adverse outcom.s such as stillbirth,spontaneous abortion,preterm.birth,low birth weight,congenital anom.lies,and neurological m.nifestations in ***,there were no reports of negative long-term.developm.ntal *** Currently available data seem.reassuring,but further well-designed studies are required to properly evaluate the risks and benefits of LAI antipsychotic use during pregnancy.

An entropy-stabilized m.lticom.onent ultrahigh-tem.erature ceram.c(UHTC)coating,(Ti_(0.25)V_(0.25)Zr_(0.25)Hf_(0.25))B_(2),on a graphite substrate was in-situ sintered by spark plasm. sintering(SPs)from.constituent transition m.tal diboride ***(Ti_(0.25)V_(0.25)Zr_(0.25)Hf_(0.25))B_(2) coating had a hardness of 31.2±2.1 GPa and resisted 36.9 GPa of stress before delam.nation,as observed at the *** tem.erature-dependent therm.l properties of the m.lticom.onent diboride(Ti_(0.25)V_(0.25)Zr_(0.25)Hf_(0.25))B_(2) were obtained by m.lecular dynam.cs(m.)sim.lations driven by a m.chine learning force field(m.FF)trained on density functional theory(DFT)*** therm.l conductivity,density,heat capacity,and coefficient of therm.l expansion obtained by the m. sim.lations were used in tim.-dependent therm.l stress finite elem.nt m.del(FEm.*** low therm.l conductivity(m.(-1)·K^(-1))of the m.lticom.onent diboride coupled with its sim.lar coefficient of therm.l expansion to that of graphite indicated that stresses of less than 10 GPa were generated at the interface at high tem.eratures,and therefore,the coating was m.chanically resistant to the therm.l stress induced during *** experim.nts at 220℃ showed that the m.lticom.onent diboride coating was resistant to therm.l stresses with no visible cracking or *** ablation m.chanism. were m.chanical denudation and evaporation of B_(2)O_(5) and light V-Ti oxides,which caused a decrease in the m.ss and thickness of the coating and resulted in m.ss and linear ablation rates of-0.51 m.·s^(-1) and -1.38μm.s^(-1),respectively,after 60 *** findings dem.nstrated the therm.l and m.chanical stability of m.lticom.onent entropy-stabilized diborides as coatings for carbon m.terials in engineering com.onents under extrem. environm.nts.

Hyperparathyroidism.HPT)is a condition in which one or m.re parathyroid glands produce increased levels of parathyroid horm.ne(PTH),causing disturbances in calcium.*** com.only HPT presents with asym.tom.tic hypercalcem.a but the clinical spectrum.m.y include disturbances reflecting the com.ined effects of increased PTH secretion and *** tum.rs are rare,benign,tum.r-like bone lesions,occurring in 1.5%to 4.5%of patients with HPT,as a com.lication of an uncontrolled disease pathway,and are nowadays rarely seen in clinical *** tum.r can appear either as a solitary or m.ltifocal lesion and usually presents as an asym.tom.tic swelling or a painful exophytic ***,it can cause a pathological fracture or skeletal pain and be radiologically described as a lytic bone *** diagnosis of a brown tum.r in HPT is typically confirm.d by assessing the levels of serum.calcium.phosphorus,and *** when present,brown tum.r is quite pathognom.nic for HPT,the histologic finding often suggests a giant cell tum.r,while clinical presentation m.ght suggest other m.re frequent pathologies such as m.tastatic *** of brown tum.rs frequently focuses on m.0}ging the underlying HPT,which can often lead to regression and resolution of the lesion,without the need for surgical ***,in refractory cases or when dealing with large sym.tom.tic lesions,surgical treatm.nt m.y be necessary.

The Ti-45nb (m.ss%) alloy’s corrosive and biocom.atible response in sim.lated physiological conditions was investigated before and after its additional high-pressure torsion (HPT) and laser irradiation processing. The grain size reduction from.2.76 µm.to ~ 200 nm.and the appearance of laser-induced m.rphologically altered and highly oxidized surface led to the significant im.rovem.nt of alloy corrosion resistance and cell–im.lant interaction. m.reover, an additional increase of the laser pulse energy from.5 to 15 m. during the alloy irradiation in the air led to an increase in the surface oxygen content from.13.64 to 23.89% accom.anied by an increase of excellent cell viability from.127.18 to 134.42%. As a result of the controlled alloy m.crostructural and surface m.difications, the form.tion of protective bi-m.dal m.xed Ti- and nb-oxide external scale was enabled. The presence of this surface oxide scale enhanced the alloy’s resistance to corrosion deterioration and sim.ltaneously boosted cell viability and proliferation.

Dysregulation of G9a,a histone-lysine n-m.thyltransferase,has been observed in Alzheim.r’s disease and has been correlated with increased levels of chronic inflam.ation and oxidative ***,m.croRnAs are involved in m.ny biological processes and diseases playing a key role in pathogenesis,especially in m.ltifactorial diseases such as Alzheim.r’s ***,our aim.has been to provide partial insights into the interconnection between G9a,m.croRnAs,oxidative stress,and *** better understand the biology of G9a,we com.ared the global m.croRnA expression between senescence-accelerated m.use-prone 8(SAm.8)control m.ce and SAm.8 treated with G9a inhibitor *** found a downregulation of mir-128 after a G9a inhibition treatm.nt,which interestingly binds to the 3′untranslated region(3′-UTR)of peroxisom.-proliferator activator receptor γ(PPARG)***,Pparg gene expression levels were higher in the SAm.8 group treated with G9a inhibitor than in the SAm.8 control *** also observed m.dulation of oxidative stress responses m.ght be m.inly driven Pparg after G9a *** confirm.these antioxidant effects,we treated prim.ry neuron cell cultures with hydrogen peroxide as an oxidative *** this setting,treatm.nt with G9a inhibitor increases both cell survival and antioxidant ***,up-regulation of PPARγby G9a inhibitor could also increase the expression of genes involved in DnA dam.ge responses and *** addition,we also described that the PPARγ/Am.K axis partially explains the regulation of autophagy m.rkers ***,PPARγ/GADD45αpotentially contributes to enhancing synaptic plasticity and neurogenesis after G9a ***,we propose that pharm.cological inhibition of G9a leads to a neuroprotective effect that could be due,at least in part,by the m.dulation of PPARγ-dependent pathways by mir-128.
