Sol-gel borate bioactive glasses(BGs)are promising ion-releasing biomaterials for wound h.aling ***,we report th. synth.sis of a series of binary B_(2)O_(3)-CaO borate BGs(CaO ranging from 50 to 90mol%)using a sol-gel-based *** influence of CaO content in B_(2)O_(3)-CaO borate BG on morph.logy,structure and ion release beh.vior was investigated in *** dissolution(ion release)and crystallization could be observed in borate BGs wh.n CaO content increased,wh.le th. morph.logy was not significantly altered by increasing CaO *** results evidenced th.t th. ion release beh.vior of borate BGs could be tailored by tuning th. B_(2)O_(3)/CaO molar *** also evaluated th. in vitro cytotoxicity,h.mostatic,antibacterial and angiogenic activities of borate *** was validated for all borate ***,borate BGs exh.bited composition-dependent h.mostatic,antibacterial and angiogenic ***,h.gh.r contents of Ca in borate BGs facilitated h.mostatic activity,wh.le h.gh.r contents of B_(2)O_(3) were beneficial for pro-angiogenic *** synth.sized sol-gel-derived borate BGs are promising materials for developing advanced wound h.aling dressings,given th.ir fast ion release beh.vior and favorable h.mostatic,antibacterial and angiogenic activities.

Th. Ti-45Nb (mass%) alloy’s corrosive and biocompatible response in simulated ph.siological conditions was investigated before and after its additional h.gh.pressure torsion (h.T) and laser irradiation processing. Th. grain size reduction from 2.76 µm to ~ 200 nm and th. appearance of laser-induced morph.logically altered and h.gh.y oxidized surface led to th. significant improvement of alloy corrosion resistance and cell–implant interaction. moreover, an additional increase of th. laser pulse energy from 5 to 15 mJ during th. alloy irradiation in th. air led to an increase in th. surface oxygen content from 13.64 to 23.89% accompanied by an increase of excellent cell viability from 127.18 to 134.42%. As a result of th. controlled alloy microstructural and surface modifications, th. formation of protective bi-modal mixed Ti- and Nb-oxide external scale was enabled. Th. presence of th.s surface oxide scale enh.nced th. alloy’s resistance to corrosion deterioration and simultaneously boosted cell viability and proliferation.
