Torrential flood prevention in the Kolubara river basin

One of the most vulnerable parts to natural hazards in Serbia is Kolubara river basin. In the past, during the period from 1929 to 2013, 121 torrential flood events in the Kolubara river basin were recorded which show that this territory is extremely vulnerable to the torrential floods. The extreme event which occurred in May 2014 causing the catastrophic material damages and casualties was the latest and historical flood. The analysis of natural conditions in the Kolubara basin uniformly showed that this area is predisposed to a greater number of torrential floods due to its geomorphological, hydrological and land use properties. Torrential floods are closely related to the intensity and spatial distribution of erosive processes in the upper part of the Kolubara basin. The estimation of soil erosion potential is generally achieved by Erosion Potential Model(EPM). For the purposes of determining the degree of torrential properties in various water streams in the Kolubara basin, the calculation ofsusceptibility to torrential floods was assessed by Flash Flood Potential Index(FFPI). More than half of the basin area(57.2%) is located within the category of very weak and weak erosion(z_(sr) = 0.35), but the category of medium erosion is geospatially very common. Such a distribution of medium erosion category provides conditions for generating, i.e. production of sediment which would boost torrential properties of water streams. After the classification of the obtained FFPI values it was determined that 25% of the Kolubara basin is very susceptible to torrents and this data should be seriously taken into consideration. Based on the analyses, the best and most successful manner of defence is prevention which consists of the integrated river basin management system(integrated torrent control system) so that technical works in hydrographic networks of torrents and biological and biotechnical works on the slope of the basin would be the best solution. 目的探讨球囊肺动脉成形术(BPA)治疗慢性血栓栓塞性肺动脉高压(CTEPH)肺动脉内膜剥脱术(PEA)后持续肺动脉高压(PH)的安全性和有效性。方法连续纳入2016年12月至2022年6月在中日友好医院呼吸中心接受诊疗的CTEPH患者20例,所有入组患者经多学科讨论确定CTEPH经PEA后PH,均采用BPA进行治疗。治疗前评估患者运动耐量、肺动脉血流动力学参数,将BPA治疗前与最后1次BPA时各项参数进行对比分析。6 min步行距离(6MWD)采用配对Wilcoxon检验分析;血浆n-末端脑钠肽前体(nT-proBnP)水平、混合静脉血氧饱和度、平均肺动脉压、心脏指数和肺血管阻力(PVR)等采用配对样本t检验分析;WHO心功能分级采用Mcnemar检验分析。结果20例患者合计130支病变血管,共进行了46次BPA治疗。术后6MWD[447(415,485)m]较术前[389(335,470)m]显著改善(z=6.52,PnT-proBnP[(351.9±129.9)pg/ml]、mPAP[(24.2±1.9)mmHg]、PVR[(3.0±1.4)WU]较术前[分别为(982.5±426.2)pg/ml、(33.0±2.1)mmHg、(8.0±1.6)WU]显著减低(t值分别为3.38、1.22、2.10,P均<0.05)。术后WHO心功能分级(Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ级分别为14、4、2、0例)较术前(Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ级分别为0、13、5、2例)显著改善(χ2=20.17,P<0.05)。术后肺动脉夹层发生4例次,咯血发生1例次,无其他并发症发生。结论BPA能显著改善CTEPH患者PEA术后持续PH的运动耐量和血流动力学参数,手术并发症发生率相对较低,安全有效。

We describe the development of quinolylnitrones(Qns)as multifunctional ligands inhibiting cholinesterases(ChEs:acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase—h BChE)and monoamine oxidases(hMAO-A/B)for the therapy of neurodegenerative *** identified Qn 19,a simple,low molecular weight nitrone,that is readily synthesized from commercially available *** 19 has no typical pharmacophoric element to suggest ChE or MAO inhibition,yet unexpectedly showed potent inhibition of h BChE(IC50=1.06±0.31 nmol/L)and h MAO-B(IC_(50)=4.46±0.18μmol/L).The crystal structures of 19 with hBChE and hMAO-B provided the structural basis for potent binding,which was further studied by enzyme *** 19 acted as a free radical scavenger and biometal chelator,crossed the blood—brain barrier,was not cytotoxic,and showed neuroprotective properties in a 6-hydroxydopamine cell model of Parkinson's *** addition,in vivo studies showed the anti-amnesic effect of 19 in the scopolamine-induced mouse model of AD without adverse effects on motoric function and ***,chronic treatment of double transgenic APPswe-PS1δE9 mice with 19 reduced amyloid plaque load in the hippocampus and cortex of female mice,underscoring the disease-modifying effect of Qn 19.

Background: The hand is an essential component for performing our daily tasks;as a result, injuries to the fingertip are frequently seen. Accurate evaluation and treatment of fingertip injuries are essential to avoiding long-term disability, job loss and psychological issues. no matter the injury classification system, maintaining finger length, regaining sensation, and improving appearance are the three main objectives of treatment. The objective of this research was to outline the epidemiology of fingertip injuries treated between 2021 and 2022 at a highly specialized referral hospital in Mexico City. Methodology: This investigation is cross-sectional, retrospective, and observational. From January 2021 to December 2022, 60 patients with a diagnosis of fingertip injury from the South Central Hospital “Pemex” were included. The descriptive statistical analysis was performed using SPSS29. Results: 60 patients were included, 27 (45%) were women and 33 (55%) were men. Allen’s classification was able to classify only 19 patients, of which 18 (94.7%) had a type 1 classification and one (5.26%) had a type 2 classification. 10% of patients experienced complications, which included 2 patients with surgical site infections (3.3%), 3 patients with persistent pain (5%), and 1 patient (1.6%) with graft rejection. Conclusions: There are currently insufficient epidemiological data on hand and wrist injuries and its effects on labor in Mexico. Fingertip injuries require particular care in order to prevent complications and long-term damage. The creation of national registries could help with the creation of reference manuals for the care of hand and wrist injuries in our nation.

numerous agents of infections in humans and other mammals are found among fungi that are able to survive extreme environmental conditions and to quickly adapt to novel ***,the relationship between opportunistic potential and polyextremotolerance was not yet studied systematically in ***,the link between polyextremotolerance and opportunistic pathogenicity is shown in a kingdom-wide phylogenetic analysis as a statistically significant co-occurrence of extremotolerance(*** and psychrotolerance)and opportunism at the level of fungal *** addition to extremotolerance,fungal opportunists share another characteristic—an apparent lack of specialised virulence *** is illustrated by a comparative genomic analysis of 20 dothideomycetous and eurotiomycetous black *** the genomes of specialised fungal plant pathogens were significantly enriched in known virulence-associated genes that encode secreted proteases,carbohydrate active enzyme families,polyketide synthases,and non-ribosomal peptide synthetases,no such signatures were observed in human *** the presented results have several *** infection of human hosts is a side effect of fungal stress tolerance and adaptability,the human body is most likely neither the preferred habitat of such species,nor important for their evolutionary *** defines opportunism as opposed to pathogenicity,where infection is advantageous for the species’*** opportunists are generally incapable of the host-to-host transmission,any host-specific adaptations are likely to be lost with the resolution of the infection,explaining the observed lack of specialised virulence *** this scenario opportunistic infections should be seen as an evolutionary dead end and unlikely to lead to true pathogenicity.
