Ultrafast laser pulses provide unique tools to manipulate magnetization dynamics at femtosecond timescales,where the interaction of the electric field usually dominates over the magnetic *** proposals using structured laser beams have demonstrated the possibility to produce regions where intense oscillating magnetic fields are isolated from the electric *** these conditions,we show that technologically feasible tesla-scale circularly polarized high-frequency magnetic fields induce purely precessional nonlinear magnetization *** fundamental result not only opens an avenue in the study of laser-induced ultrafast magnetization dynamics,but also sustains technological implications as a route to promote all-optical non-thermal magnetization dynamics both at shorter timescales-towards the subfemtosecond regime-and at THz frequencies.

Happiness is the ultimate goal for every living human being, and this condition motivates people to stay active and want to be alive. Having this feeling also fosters the proactivity of citizens. The opposite is depression, a condition capable of significantly affecting a person’s behavior or perception. HoD Detector is a low-cost, easy to use application that aids in the diagnosis of a depressive disorder and motivates the user to seek professional help. The purpose of this study is to propose a way to measure happiness through the measurement of depression;to develop HoD Detector, evaluate the accuracy and usability of this application (with university students) for future enhancements of the system. The development of this application involved basic algorithms and the use of a database to successfully make a diagnosis and store the results of each user for further reference. The application is capable of giving a proper diagnosis with the time interval of 2 - 5 minutes. HoD Detector has the potential to become an extremely useful tool to diagnose depression and motivate users to seek professional help not only in Mexico, but also on an international scale for improving in people’s happiness condition.

instability associated Land cover change can lead to slope by accelerating erosive processes with agriculture, forestry, and infrastructure. The Rio Chiquito-Barranca del Muerto subbasin has experienced an increase in land cover change due to government programs and the establishment of agricultural and urban areas. The aim of this study was to provide a model to map the susceptibility to gravitational processes along sites where anthropogenic land cover change has occurred. The method was based on the stratification of the subbasin according to landforms and cartographic variables. These variables were used in a multi- criteria assessment to assign weights according to their contribution to the onset of new gravitationalprocesses. Those weights were used to create a susceptibility map based on a weighted linear sum. The accuracy of the resulting map was validated in an error matrix with a random stratified design based on susceptibility classes per landform. The results produced a map of areas with susceptibility to gravitational processes due to land cover change; this susceptibility is very high in the undifferentiated pyroclastic slope and limestone mountain, where it derives not only from anthropogenie effects on natural vegetation cover, but also from steep slopes, weathered materials, low apparent density, high erosivity, and previous gravitational processes. The results support other studies that concluded that loss of vegetation is a triggering factor in the formation of gravitational processes, but also show that excessive reforestation can increase gravitational processes.

surgical Treatment of Craniopharyngiomas in Adults:Comparison between Primary surgery and surgery for Recurrence

objective Few studies have investigated the differences in outcomes between primary and repeat surgery for a craniopharyngioma in *** a result,a treatment concept for adult patients with a craniopharyngioma has not yet been *** present study aimed to retrospectively analyze adult patients with craniopharyngioma to compare surgical outcomes between primary surgery and surgery for *** The demographic and clinical data of 68 adult patients with craniopharyngioma who had primary surgery(n=50)or surgery for recurrence(n=18)were retrospectively *** addition,the patients were followed up for an average of 38.6 months(range:1–133 months).Results The cohorts of patients undergoing primary surgery or repeat surgery did not differ preoperatively in terms of demographic data,or radiological tumor ***,patients with recurrent craniopharyngioma had significantly more pituitary hormone deficits and hypothalamo-pituitary disorders before surgery compared with patients with newly diagnosed *** success rate of complete resection in primary surgery was 53.2%.Even after repeat surgery,a satisfactory rate of complete resection of 35.7%was *** morbidity was increased neither in patients with repeat surgery compared with those with primary surgery(postoperative bleeding P=0.560;meningitis P=1.000;CsF leak P=0.666;visual disturbance P=0.717)nor in patients with complete resection compared with those with partial *** found no difference in recurrence-free survival between initial surgery and repeat surgery(P=0.733).The recurrence rate was significantly lower after complete resection(6.9%)than after partial resection(47.8%;Ponclusion Attempting complete resection is justified for not only those with newly diagnosed craniopharyngioma but also for those with recurrent ***,the surgeon must settle for less than total resection if postoperative morbidity is anticipated.

Adsorption of cobalt by using inorganic components of sediment samples from water bodies

The adsorption of cobalt ions was evaluated using sediment samples from water bodies to investigate the adsorption properties of sediment and the behavior of these natural materials in the presence of nuclear and industrial waste. The two sediments(s1 and s2) were treated to eliminate humic and fulvic acids and then they were characterized by several techniques. The minerals found in both the sediments(X-ray diffraction) were quartz and albite; plus, goethite and muscovite in s1, and kaolinite and montmorillonite in s2. Point of zero charge(PZC) of s1 and s2 was 6.00 and 5.22, respectively. The specific area of s1(63.3 m2/g) is higher than s2(1.5 m2/g). Adsorption kinetics data for s1 and s2 were best fitted to the pseudo second-order model. The removal efficiency of s1 for cobalt was 96% with an adsorption capacity(qe) of 0.93 mg/g, and for s2 was 45% with a qeof 0.40 mg/g. The experimental data of the adsorption isotherms were adjusted to Langmuir and Freundlich models for s1 and s2, respectively. The thermodynamic parameters(enthalpy, entropy, and Gibb’s free energy) indicated that the adsorption processes were endothermic, spontaneous, and chemisorption mechanism. The results show that the adsorption capacities of the sediments depend on their composition. These water sediments have important adsorption properties for cobalt, and they can be used in the treatment of nuclear and industrial aqueous wastes.
