A gated recurrent unit model to predict Poisson’s ratio using deep learning

Static Poisson’s ratio(vs)is crucial for determining geomechanical properties in petroleum applications,namely sand *** models have been used to predict vs;however,the published models were limited to specific data ranges with an average absolute percentage relative error(AAPRE)of more than 10%.The published gated recurrent unit(GRU)models do not consider trend analysis to show physical *** this study,we aim to develop a GRU model using trend analysis and three inputs for predicting n s based on a broad range of data,n s(value of 0.1627-0.4492),bulk formation density(RHOB)(0.315-2.994 g/mL),compressional time(DTc)(44.43-186.9 μs/ft),and shear time(DTs)(72.9-341.2μ s/ft).The GRU model was evaluated using different approaches,including statistical error *** GRU model showed the proper trends,and the model data ranges were wider than previous *** GRU model has the largest correlation coefficient(R)of 0.967 and the lowest AAPRE,average percent relative error(APRE),root mean square error(RMSE),and stan.ard deviation(SD)of 3.228%,1.054%,4.389,and 0.013,respectively,compared to other *** GRU model has a high accuracy for the different datasets:training,validation,testing,and the whole datasets with R and AAPRE values were 0.981 and 2.601%,0.966 and 3.274%,0.967 and 3.228%,and 0.977 and 2.861%,*** group error analyses of all inputs show that the GRU model has less than 5% AAPRE for all input ranges,which is superior to other models that have different AAPRE values of more than 10% at various ranges of inputs.

Enhancing Heavy Crude Oil Flow in Pipelines through Heating-Induced Viscosity Reduction in the Petroleum Industry

The process of transporting crude oil across pipelines is one of the most critical aspects of the midstream petroleum *** the present experimental work,the effect of temperature,pressure drop,and pipe diameter on the flow rate of heavy crude oil have been ***,the total discharge and energy losses have been evaluated in order to demonstrate the improvements potentially achievable by using solar heating method replacing pipe,and adjusting the value of the initial pressure *** oil of API=20 has been used for the experiments,with the studied pipelines sections connecting the separator unit to the storage tank operating at a temperature of 25℃-100℃,pressure drop of 3,4,5,and 6 kg/cm^(2),and with pipe diameter of 4,6,and 8 *** results show that on increasing the temperature and/or the pressure drop,the flow rate through the pipeline becomes higher,thus raising the total pumping energy(as the pipe diameter increase),while energy losses increase from the last separator to the storage tank in the field.A pipe diameter increase can also produce a growth of the total pumping energy(i.e.,energy losses increase).The results of the present analysis suggest that employing an optimal temperature(50℃)is needed to ensure good performance.

BACKGROUnD Oral candidiasis(OC)is an oral health disease that could influence patients’oral health quality of *** To estimate prevalence of OC among disabled and non-disabled individuals and its potential risk factors in the Al-Baha region,Saudi *** An observational cross-sectional study was carried out among 148 disabled and non-disabled *** technique of concentrated oral rinse employing the Sabouraud Dextrose Agar medium accompanied with 0.05%chloramphenicol was conducted to assess and isolate *** examination using the World Health Organization guidelines was conducted to examine participants’oral hea-lth status.A pre-designed questionnaire was also used to evaluate sociodemo-graphic,medical history,and oral hygiene habits of the studied *** Out of 148 participants(n=57,38%)had colonized *** of the studied population had visible Candida ***,Candida was found in the oral rinses without the subject presenting any lesions or issues caused by Candida(asymptomatic colonization).The most common prevalent OC among participants were Candida albicans,Candida glabrata,Candida dubliniensis,Candida krusei,Candida tropicalis,and Candida parapsilosis(n=35,61%;n=8,14%;n=6,10%;n=5,9%;n=2,4%;and n=1,2%)***,smoking,poor plaque,and gingival status were key potential risk factors that significantly associated with candida’s density and presence(P=0.001,P=0.001,P=0.01,and P=0.01)*** status had no statistically significant effect on presence and density of *** The prevalence of OC is almost third of the studied population;thus,may provoke a need to develop preventive strategies to reduce the OC rate and establish solid treatment plans.

The behavior of non-newtonian power-law nanofluids under free convection heat transfer conditions in a cooled square enclosure equipped with a heated fin is investigated *** particular,the impact of nanofluids,composed of water and Al_(2)O_(3),TiO_(2),and Cu nanoparticles,on heat transfer enhancement is *** aim of this research is also to analyze the influence of different parameters,including the Rayleigh number(Ra=10^(4)-10^(6)),nanoparticle volume fraction(φ=0%-20%),non-newtonian power-law indexes(n=0.6-1.4),and fin dimensions(ar=0.3,0.5,and 0.7).Streamlines and isotherms are used to depict flow and related heat transfer *** indicate that thermal performance improves with increasing Rayleigh number,regardless of the nanoparticle type or nanofluid rheological *** suggests that the buoyancy force has a significant impact on heat transfer,particularly near the heat *** nusselt number is more sensitive to variations in Cu nanoparticle volume fractions compared to Al₂O₃and TiO₂.Moreover,the average nusselt numbers for power-law nanofluids with nn>1)are greater(smaller)than for newtonian fluids due to the decrease(increase)in viscosity with increasing(decreasing)shear rate,at the same values of Rayleigh number Ra owing to the amplification(attenuation)of the convective ***,the most substantial enhancement is observed with Cu-water shear-thinning nanofluid,where the nusselt number increases by 136%when changing from newtonian to shear thinning behavior and by 154.9%when adding 16%nanoparticle volume ***,an even larger increase of 57%in the average nusselt number is obtained on increasing the fin length from 0.3 to 0.7.

Breeding Enrichment of Genetic Variation of Grain Yield and Its Attributes in Bread Wheat under Drought Stress and Well Irrigation

Drought stress(DS)is one of the most critical environmental abiotic stresses for wheat production in the arid *** of high-yielding genotypes tolerant to DS can play a significant role in mitigation the negative impacts associated with *** the present study,generation means analysis(GMA)was used to study the performance of two crosses under well irrigation(WI)and deficit irrigation[cross I(Line 44×Shandweel-1)and cross II(Line 20×Sakha 93)].Significant differences were observed for days to heading(DH),days to maturity(DM),plant height(PH),spike length(SL),number of spikes per plant(nS/P),number of grains per spike(nG/S),thousand-grain weight(TGW),grain yield per plant(GY/P),and proline content(PC)in the six populations of the two crosses within each irrigation *** II had early maturity and the highest PC,nS/P,TGW,and GY/P regardless of the irrigation *** I showed positive significant relative heterosis and heterobeltiosis for GY/P under the two irrigation *** inheritance of characters of cross I revealed additive,dominant,and epistatic effects,which varied with trait and *** genetic effects predominated in DH,SL,and PC,while non-additive were found in DM,nS/P,nG/S,and GY/***-sense heritability estimates(h^(2) n)were high for DH and PC,moderate to high for PH and SL,moderate for DM,nG/S,nS/P,and TGW,and low for GY/*** on different drought indices the populations BC_(1),BC_(2),F_(1),and P1 of cross II and BC1 of cross I were more tolerant to drought ***,PC,TGW and DH can be used as selection indicators to improve wheat for drought tolerance in early generations and other yield components traits in late *** second cross(Line 20×Sakha 93)shows promise and is of interest to a drought tolerance breeding program,where wheat breeders can use recombinant breeding strategies to construct desirable drought stress *** and path coefficient revealed that TGW and PC were the main
