A selenium-functionalizedε-caprolactone was synthesized by introducing a phenyl selenide group at the 7-position.A polymer was obtained through the ring-opening polymerization of this monomer in a base/thiourea binary organocatalytic system.A living polymerization process was achieved under mild *** resulting polymers had a controlled molecular weight with a narrow molecular weight distributions and high end-group *** copolymers could be obtained by copolymerizing this monomer withε-*** thermal degradation temperature of the obtained copolymers decreased with the increasing molar ratio of selenide functionalized monomer in copolymers,while the glass transition temperature *** addition,the phenyl selenide side group could be further modified to a polyselenonium salt,which resulted in a polymer with good antibacterial *** survival rate of *** and *** was only 9%with a polymer concentration of 62.5μg/mL.

Donor cornea shortage is a primary hurdle in the development of corneal transplantation. Of all species, porcine corneas are the ideal transplantation material for humans. However, the xenoimmune rejection induced by porcine corneal xenotransplantation compromises surgical efficacy. Although the binding of IgM/IgG in human serum to a genetically modified porcine cornea is significantly weaker than that of the wild type(WT), genetically modified porcine corneas do not display a prolonged graft survival time in vivo. Conversely, costimulatory blockade drugs, such as anti-CD40 antibodies, can reduce the xenoimmune response and prolong graft survival time in animal experiments. Moreover, porcine endothelial grafts can survive for more than 6mo with only the subconjunctival injection of a steroid-based immunosuppressants regime; therefore, they show great value for treating corneal endothelial disease. In addition, zoonotic transmission is a primary concern of xenotransplantation. Porcine endogenous retrovirus(PERV) is the most significant virus assessed by ophthalmologists. PERV integrates into the porcine genome and infects human cells in vitro. Fortunately, no evidence from in vivo studies has yet shown that PERV can be transmitted to hosts.

We present a ring-opening polymerization of bridged cyclic lactone utilizing alcohol as the initiator and organic base as the *** γ-butyrolactone monomers(PhSGBL and PhSeGBL)were synthesized efficiently from commercially available 3-cyclohexene-1-carboxylic *** to the ring strain of the bridged structure,ring-opening polymerization of this type of γ-butyrolactone derivative was successfully carried out under mild conditions,e.g.,using ethylene glycol as the initiator and a commercial catalyst[1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0 dec-5-ene(TBD)]]as the catalyst at 30℃.The obtained polymer could be degraded to its monomer for recycling in the presence of ZnCl_(2) as a *** and PhSeGBL could also be copolymerized with ε-caprolactone to tune the glass transition ***,the hydrophilicity of the obtained sulfur-containing polymers could be adjusted by selectively oxidizing the thioether side group to sulfone/sulfoxide,which offered a way to tune the hydrophilicity of *** the other hand,the obtained selenium-containing compound could be degraded in the presence of m-CPBA(3-chloroperbenzoic acid),which offered potential application in sustained drug release.

Molybdenum dioxide has aroused a wide concern as anode material for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)due to its high theoretical capacity and high ***,it still faces the problems of large volume changes and low electronic conductivities,which limits its practical ***,necklace-like N-doped carbon nanofibers encapsulating MoO_(2)nanospheres(MoO_(2)@NCNFs)with Mo-C bonding have been designed to address these *** rational design carbon coating structure can not only enhance the electron transfer,but also markedly strengthen structural *** expected,the as-prepared electrode showed superior lithium storage capacity,including a high specific capacity of 1120 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1),and good rate performance of 502 mAh·g^(-1)at 4.0 A·g^(-1)and a prolonged cycling stability of 490 mAh·g^(-1)capacity retention over 3000 cycles at 4.0 A·g^(-1).

Analytical solution and experimental verification for pulsed laser heating process with convective boundary condition

Laser heating process of materials is a complex heat transfer problem involved with laser beam, workpiece and ambience. In particular, variable convective boundary condition has great influence on temperature field distribution and processing quality. However, in the previous studies of temperature field抯 solution, convective boundary condition was either simplified or ignored which affected calculation accuracy and precision. In this paper, an analytical solution for the temperature field with convective boundary condition is obtained using Laplace transforms. Moreover, the dimensionless parameters are identified appropriately. Influence of dimensionless distance (x′), dimensionless time (t ), dimensionless energy absorption at surface (M) and Biot number (Bi) on dimensionless temperature (T′) have been investigated. The results show: as Bi is increased, the effects of the heat convection become more pronounced and make the location of the peak temperature move away from the surface. The method of thermocamera is used to validate the analytical solution for pulsed laser heating process with convective boundary condition and the ideal results are obtained. The present study provides the theoretical basis for improving the understanding of physical process, exact modelling and quality controlling of laser welding and surface treatment.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries have attracted much attention due to their high theoretical capacity,low cost high safety,and ***,challenges such as dendrite growth and side reactions severely hinder the electrochemical performance of the Zn anode,leading to low Coulombic efficiency(CE)or even short circuits Herein,phenolic resin(PF)is used as a protective coating on the surface of the zinc metal *** PF layer can greatly improve the corrosion resistance of the Zn electrode in the ***,this artificial electrode/electrolyte interphase also elevates the nucleation barrier and restrains Zn^(2+)2D diffusion,regulating the zinc deposition/dissolution *** a result,PF@Zn symmetric cells exhibit superior performance than that of bare Zn symmetric cells,achieving a stable and dendrite-free cycle of 1400 ***,the carbon nanotube MnO_(2)||PF@Zn(CNT/MnO_(2)||PF@Zn)full cell also delivers a long cycle life with a high-capacity retention of about 180.0 m Ah·g^(-1)after 1400 cycles,far exceeding that of bare Zn *** work provides a facile strategy for achieving a dendrite-free and rechargeable zinc anode.

Germanium-based material has attracted numerous attentions and been regarded as a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries due to its high theoretical ***,drastic pulverization and rapid capacity fading caused by large volume variation during cycling limit its practical *** this work,three-dimensional N-doped carbon framework-wrapped Na_(4)Ge_(9)O_(20)nanoparticles(3D Na_(4)Ge_(9)O_(20)@N-C)have been synthesized via freeze-drying approach with NaCl as both template and sodium source for *** employment of NaCl has two special roles:on the one hand,the NaCl crystals act as template and facilitate the formation of 3D porous structure,while on the other hand,the NaCl crystals serving as sodium source and support the ion exchange between NaCl and GeO_(2)promote the formation of Na_(4)Ge_(9)O_(20).Benefiting from the unique method,the prepared 3D Na_(4)Ge_(9)O_(20)@N-C not only suppresses the volume change by using carbon as buffer layers but also demonstrates an improved electronic conductivity and a shortened ionic *** utilized as an anode material for LIBs,the 3D Na_(4)Ge_(9)O_(20)@N-C composites deliver high reversible capacity(896.2 mAh·g^(-1)at0.1 A·g^(-1)after 100 cycles),good cycling stability(520.8 mAh·g^(-1)at 2.0 A·g^(-1)after 400 cycles)and excellent rate performance(636.0 mAh·g^(-1)at 2.0 A·g^(-1)).This work provides a strategy to improve the electrochemical performance of germanium-based anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.

Metal chalcogenides with multiple lithium ions storage capability have received extensive attentions in recent years;however,their practical application is restricted by the structural instability and poor ***,a unique structure of N and S co-doped C/TiO_(2)nanofibers is reported to support SnS nanosheets for fast and ultra-stable lithium *** incorporation of TiO_(2)can notably suppress the excessive uncontrollable growth of SnS and improve the structural stability of the electrode *** effects of the ratios between Ti and Sn and the corresponding synthesis temperatures on the structure and electrochemical properties of the electrodes have been systematically *** interface charge transfer behavior of SnS and TiO_(2)composite heterostructure was clarified by density functional theory(DFT)*** electronic interaction SnS and TiO_(2)can effectively reduce the energy band gap and form a built-in electric field at the interface of the two *** is beneficial for the adsorption of lithium ion and consequently accelerate the reaction kinetics of the electrode *** the two phases are combined,the agglomeration of SnS is effectively suppressed,and the overall conductivity of the composite is greatly ***,the synergistic effect induced by SnS and TiO_(2)enables the good stability of the electrode in both lithium-ion half-cells and full *** work can provide new insights toward improving the performance of alloy-type anodes.
