Hearing loss prevalence and burden of disease in China: Findings from provincial-level analysis

Background: Without timely and effective rehabilitation, hearing loss may profoundly affect human life quality. China has a large population of hearing-impaired individuals, which imposes a heavy health burden on society. Moreover, this population is projected to increase rapidly owing to China’s aging ***: We used data from a population-representative epidemiological investigation of hearing loss and ear diseases in four Chinese provinces. We estimated the national prevalence using multiple linear regression of the age-group proportions and prevalence in 31 provinces with clustering analysis. We used years lived with disability (YLDs) to analyze the disease burden and forecasted the prevalence of hearing loss by 2060 in ***: An estimated 115 million people had moderate-to-complete hearing loss in 2015 across the 31 provinces of China (8.4% of 1.37 billion people). Of these, 85.7% were older than age 50 years (99 million people) and 2.4% were younger than 20 years old (2.8 million people). Of all YLDs attributable to hearing loss, 68.9% were attributable to moderate-to-complete cases. By 2060, a projected 242 million people in China will have moderate-to-complete hearing loss, a 110.0% increase from ***: The hearing loss prevalence in China is high. Population aging and socioeconomic factors substantially affect the prevalence and severity of hearing loss and the disease burden. The prevalence and severity of hearing loss are unevenly distributed across different provinces. Future public health policies should take these trends and regional variations into account.

Background Inhibition of aging of vascular endothelial cells （VECs） may delay aging and prolong life. The goal of this study was to prepare anti-CD31 monoclonal antibody conjugated PEG-modified liposomes containing the AU-rich region connecting factor 1 （AUF1） gene （CD31-PILs-AUF1） and to explore the effects of targeting CD31-PILs-AUF1 to aging VECs. Methods The mean particle sizes of various PEGylated immunoliposomes （PILs） were measured using a Zetasizer Nano ZS. Gel retardation assay was used to confirm whether PILs had encapsulated the AUF1 plasmid successfully. Fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry were used to quantify binding of CD31-PILs-AUF1 to target cells. Flow cytometry was also used to analyze the cell cycles of aging bEnd3 cells treated with CD31-PILs-AUF1. We also developed an aging mouse model by treating mice with D-galactose. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） was used to evaluate the levels of interleuldn-6 （IL-6） and tumor necrosis factor-or （TNF-ct）. The malondialdehyde （MDA） and the superoxide dismutase （SOD） levels were detected by commercial kits. Hematoxylin-eosin （HE） staining was used to determine whether treatment with CD31-PILs-AUF 1 was toxic to the mice. Results CD31-PILs-AUF 1 specifically could targeted bEnd3 VECs and increased the percentage of cells in the S and G2/M phases of aging bEnd3 cells. ELISA showed that content of the IL-6 and TNF-ct decreased in CD31-PILs-AUF1 group. The level of SOD increased, whereas MDA decreased in the CD31-PILs-AUF1 group. Additionally, CD31-PILs-AUF 1 was not toxic to the mice. Conclusion CD31-PILs-AUF 1 targets VECs and may delay their senescence.

The brown planthopper is a notorious rice pest in many areas of *** evolution of insecticide resistance in Nilaparvata lugens has become a serious problem in the effective control of this pest in the paddy *** this article,the current susceptibility of *** field populations to novel mesoionic insecticide triflumezopyrim and major classes of chemical insecticides was determined and *** monitoring results indicated that field populations of *** had developed low resistance to triflumezopyrim(resistance ratio,RR:1.3-7.3-fold)during 2015-2018 in China,and the median lethal concentration values varied from 0.05 to 0.29 mg/***,during 2017 to 2018,field populations of *** showed high resistance levels to thiamethoxam(RR:456.1-1025.6-fold),imidacloprid(RR:2195.3-6899.0-fold)and buprofezin(RR:1241.57521.7-fold),moderate to high resistance levels to dinotefuran(RR:97.6-320.1-fold),clothianidin(RR:69.4-230.1-fold)and isoprocarb(RR:44.1-108.0-fold),and low to moderate levels of resistance to chlorpyrifos(RR:12.0-29.7-fold)and nitenpyram(RR:6.9-24.1-fold).In contrast,*** just showed low resistance to sulfoxaflor(RR:3.3-8.5-fold)and etofenprox(RR:5.0-9.1-fold)in the ***,the P450 gene CYP6ER1 was found to be significantly overexpressed in all five field populations of *** collected in 2018 when compared with a laboratory susceptible *** findings will provide useful information to delay the evolution of insecticide resistance in ***.

*** With the implementation of modern production strategies,such as“Industry 4.0”and“Made in China 2025,”the development of high-end mechanical equipment is gradually reaching a high degree of parameterization,digitalization,networking,and intelligence[1].High-end mechanical equipment no longer consists of traditional single devices,but is closely linked to the overall production process;that is,a variety of devices interact with each other and collectively form a complex ***,faults can lead to production delays throughout the system and even seriously threaten the safety of workers[2].In addition,equipment operating in unmanned air or space vehicles(including space robots)cannot be repaired by humans if they break down[3].Until recently,the typical method of addressing machine faults was primarily the“fault cure”method,which involves manually shutting down,inspecting,and repairing the equipment to restore normal ***,the maintenance cycle of the traditional“fault cure”method is time-consuming,and the quality of the maintenance depends on the skills of the technician[4].

An interlocked M_(4) L_(8) coordination cage was synthesized by coordination-driven self-assembly of palladium(Ⅱ)ions with aromatic amide bidentate *** reaction of the ligand and the metal at 2:1 ratio led to the monomeric M_(2) L_(4) cage as the kinetic product,while the thermodynamic product M_(4) L_(8) cage was obtained by prolongating the *** conve rsion and the interlocked structure was clearly revealed by using~1 H NMR,mass spectrometry and X-ray *** driving force of interlocking was mainly attributed to the interactions(hydrogen bonding,aromatic stacking and electrostatic interaction)arising from the aptitude of flexibility of the amide ligand.

This paper investigates the response of the thermocline depth(TD) in the South China Sea(SCS) to the El Ni?o-Southern Oscillation(ENSO) events using 51-year(from 1960 to 2010) monthly seawater temperature and surface wind stress data acquired from the Simple Ocean Data Assimilation(SODA), together with heat flux data from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP), precipitation data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA) and evaporation data from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution(WHOI). It is indicated that the response of the SCS TD to the El Ni?o or La Ni?a events is in opposite phase. On one hand, the spatial-averaged TDs in the SCS(deeper than 200 m) appear as negative and positive anomalies during the mature phase of the El Ni?o and La Ni?a events, respectively. On the other hand, from June of the El Ni?o year to the subsequent April, the spatial patterns of TD in the north and south of 12°N appear as negative and positive anomalies, respectively, but present positive and negative anomalies for the La Ni?a case. However, positive and negative TD anomalies occur almost in the entire SCS in May of the subsequent year of the El Ni?o and La Ni?a events, respectively. It is suggested that the response of the TD in the SCS to the ENSO events is mainly caused by the sea surface buoyancy flux and the wind stress curl.

The effects of aging on the microstructure, mechanical properties, intergranular corrosion, and exfoliation corrosion of an Al-3.5Cu-1.5Li-0.22（Sc ＋ Zr） alloy have been investigated. The results show that the alloy has the character of age hardening, and the major phase of precipitation and strengthening is the T1 phase. The aging temperature and aging time have a significant effect on the amount and distribution of the T1 phase. The proper artificial single-aging treatment of the alloy is at 160℃ for 40 h. The intergranular corrosion and exfoliation corrosion of the alloy are caused by the anodic dissolution of the T1 phase and the precipitate-free zone （PFZ）. With increasing the aging time to overaged, the T1 phase coarsens, and the PFZ widens, leading to an increase in the susceptibility to intergranular corrosion and exfoliation corrosion.
