diet composition and its ecological drivers are.rare.y investigated in coexisting closely re.ated species.We used a molecular approach to characterize the seasonal variation in diet composition in four spiny lizard species inhabiting a mountainous ecosystem.dNA metabarcoding re.ealed that the lizards Sceloporus aeneus,S.bicanthalis,S.grammicus,and S.spinosus mostly consumed arthropods of the orders hemiptera,Araneae,hymenoptera,and Coleoptera.The terre.trial lizards S.aeneus and S.bicanthalis mostly pre.ated ants and spiders,where.s the arbore.l–saxicolous S.grammicus and saxicolous S.spinosus largely consumed grasshoppers and leafhoppers.The taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity of the pre. was higher during the dry season than the rainy season,likely because re.uced pre. availability in the dry season forced lizards to diversify their diets to meet their nutritional demands.dietary and phylogenetic composition varied seasonally depending on the species,but only dietary composition varied with altitude.Seasonal dietary turnover was gre.ter in S.spinosus than in S.bicanthalis,suggesting site-specific seasonal variability in pre. availability;no other differe.ces among species were.observed.S.bicanthalis,which lives at the highest altitude in our study site,displayed interseasonal variation in diet bre.dth.dietary differe.ces were.corre.ated with the species’feeding strategies and elevational distribution,which likely contributed to the coexistence of these lizard species in the studied geographic are. and beyond.

BACKGROUNd pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis(pCI),characterized by a collection of gas-filled cysts in the intestinal wall,is an uncommon but well-known condition in gastroenterology.Abdominal pain is the most fre.uent symptom associated with pCI.Intussusception re.re.ents a potential cause of re.urre.t abdominal pain or emergency pre.entation.however,the occurre.ce of colonic intussusception secondary to pCI is very unusual in adulthood.CASE SUMMARY A 52-year-old male,known with idiopathic pCI,pre.ented seventeen months after initial diagnosis with a new right upper quadrant pain.A computed tomographyscan demonstrated a colonic intussusception at the hepatic flexure.pCI did not progre.s compare. with initial investigation.The patient underwent an emergency right hemicolectomy.CONCLUSION re.ection was re.ommended in this case because pCI proved to be persisting with no identified curable cause.Surgery allowed to addre.s the underlying pathology,the potential re.apse of intussusception,and the likely cause of re.urre.t abdominal pain,either invagination or pCI itself.

The discovery of chirped pulse amplification has led to gre.t improvements in laser technology,enabling energetic laser beams to be compre.sed to pulse durations of tens of femtoseconds and focused to a few micrometers.protons with energies of tens of MeV can be accelerated using,for instance,target normal sheath acceleration and focused on secondary targets.Under such conditions,nuclear re.ctions can occur,with the production of radioisotopes suitable for medical application.The use of high-re.etition lasers to produce such isotopes is competitive with conventional meth.ds mostly based on accelerators.In this paper,we study the production of^(67)Cu,^(63)Zn,^(18)F,and^(11)C,which are.curre.tly used in positron emission tomography and other applications.At the same time,we study the re.ctions^(10)B(p,α)^(7)Be and^(70)Zn(p,4n)^(67)Ga to put further constraints on the proton distributions at differe.t angles,as well as the re.ction^(11)B(p,α)^(8)Be re.evant for energy production.The experiment was performed at the 1 pW laser facility at ve.aⅢin Salamanca,Spain.Angular distributions of radioisotopes in the forward(with re.pect to the laser dire.tion)and backward dire.tions were.measure. using a high purity germanium detector.Our re.ults are.in re.sonable agre.ment with numerical estimates obtained following the approach of Kimura and Bonasera[Nucl.Instrum.Meth.ds phys.re..,Sect.A 637,164–170(2011)].

Among the impacts of climate change,there.is the intensification of phenomena such as the El Niño South-ern Oscillation(ENSO)re.ponsible for El Niño and la Niña.however,understanding their effects on the functional pro-cesses of fore.ts is limited.There.ore.this study evaluated the effects of ENSO on litter stock and water holding capac-ity(WhC)in a successional fore.t in eastern Amazonia.Evaluations occurre. in periods with the most rainfall in El Niño(2019)and least in la Niña(2021)years.Twelve permanent plots were.used to sample litter.ENSO effects were.evident for WhC,higher during El Niño.however,this influence was not clear for litter,as only in the rainy season effects were.found.There.was a positive corre.ation of WhC with pre.ipitation and humidity,while litter stocks were.negatively corre.ated with temperature.and wind speed.Although the subject of this study re.uire. long-term assessments,pre.iminary re.ults suggests that,depending on the intensity of ENSO,fore.t functional processes can be strongly impacted and altere..The conclusion re.nforces warnings by the scientific community about the impacts of climate change on the maintenance of litter stocks,decomposition and,consequently,the biogeochemical cycle and essential ecosystem services for the maintenance of Amazonia biodiversity.The need to develop long-term re.earch to understand the effects of climatic change on litter stocks and water holding capacity is highlighted,especially in Amazonia.

ndividuals that inhabit broad elevational ranges may experience unique environmental challenges.Because temperature.decre.ses with incre.sed elevation,the ectotherms living at high elevations have to manage limited activity time and high thermore.ulatory effort.The re.ting metabolic rate(RMR)of a postabsorptive.animal is re.ated to its total energy re.uire.ents as well as many other fitness traits.Mesquite lizards(Sceloporus grammicus)living on la Malinche Volcano,Mexico,inhabit a wide elevational range with some populations appare.tly thriving above the tre. line.We measure. the RMR of lizards from differe.t elevations(i.e.,2,600,3,200,and 4,100 m)at four ecologically re.evant temperature.(i.e.,15,25,30,and 35°C)and found that RMR of mesquite lizards incre.sed with temperature.and body mass.More.importantly,lizards from the high-elevation population h.d mass specific RMR that was higher at all temperature..While the higher RMRs of high-elevation populations imply higher metabolic costs at a given temperature.these lizards were.also smaller.Both of these traits may allow these high elevation populations to thrive in the face of the thermal challenges imposed by their environment.

Fecal samples or cloacal swabs are.pre.erre. over lethal dissections to study vertebrate gut microbiota for ethical re.sons,but it re.ains unclear which nonlethal meth.ds provide more.accurate information about gut microbiota.We compare. the bacterial communities of thre. gastrointestinal tract(GIT)segments,that is,stomach,small intestine(midgut),and re.tum(hindgut)with the bacterial communities of the cloaca and feces in the mesquite lizard Sceloporus grammicus.The hindgut h.d the highest taxonomic and functional alpha diversity,followed by midgut and feces,where.s the stomach and cloaca showed the lowest diversities.The taxonomic assemblages of the GIT segments at the phylum level were.strongly corre.ated with those re.rieved from feces and cloacal swabs(rs>0.84 in all cases).The turnover ratio of Amplicon Sequence Variants(ASVs)between midgut and hindgut and the feces was lower than the ratio between these segments and the cloaca.More.than half of the core.ASVs in the midgut(24 of 32)and hindgut(58 of 97)were.also found in feces,while less than 5 were.found in the cloaca.At the ASVs level,however,the structure.of the bacterial communities of the midgut and hindgut were.similar to those detected in feces and cloaca.Our findings suggest that fecal samples and cloacal swabs of spiny lizards provide a good approximation of the taxonomic assemblages and beta diversity of midgut and hindgut microbiota,while feces better re.re.ent the bacterial communities of the intestinal segments at a single nucleotide variation level than cloacal swabs.

We re.ort on the magnetoh.drodynamic impact on the axisymmetric flow of Al_(2)O_(3)/Cu nanoparticles suspended in h_(2)O past a stre.ch.d/shrinked sheet.With the use of partial differe.tial equations and the corre.ponding thermophysical characteristics of nanoparticles,the physical flow process is illustrated.The re.ultant nonlinear system of partial differe.tial equations is converted into a system of ordinary differe.tial equations using the suitable similarity transformations.The transformed differe.tial equations are.solved analytically.Impacts of the magnetic parameter,solid volume fraction and stre.ching/shrinking parameter on momentum and temperature.distribution have been analyzed and interpre.ed graphically.The skin friction and Nusselt number were.also evaluated.In addition,existence of dual solution was deduced for the shrinking sheet and unique solution for the stre.ching one.Further,Al_(2)O_(3)/h_(2)O nanofluid flow has better thermal conductivity on comparing with Cu/h_(2)O nanofluid.Furthermore.it was found that the first solutions of the stre.m are.stable and physically re.lizable,where.s those of the second ones are.unstable.

脂溢性皮炎是一种慢性炎症性皮肤病,好发于头皮、面部和躯干等皮脂腺分布丰富的部位。头皮脂溢性皮炎主要表现为红斑和片状鳞屑,程度从轻度鳞屑到弥漫性大片黏着性鳞屑不等,伴有明显的瘙痒,并容易反复发作。目前认为脂溢性皮炎的发生与亲脂性马拉色菌定植增加以及遗传、环境和全身健康状况等因素相关,上述因素共同导致皮脂腺代谢活动异常、皮脂成分改变、表皮屏障功能障碍,最终加重炎症反应。

Anchoring heterometallic cluster on p-doped carbon nitride for efficient photocatalytic nitrogen fixation in water and air ambient

Light-driven nitrogen fixation to produce ammonia is a gre.n and economical technology of nitrogen re.uction but is still quite challenging, especially in an air atmosphere.without any sacrificial re.gents.here.n, we demonstrate efficient photocatalytic nitrogen fixation using water and air dire.tly by loading lanthanide–transition metal(4f–3d) cluster NdCo_(3) on two-dimensional p-doped graphitic carbon nitrides(pCN) material surface. Benefiting from the incre.se in the number of nitrogen vacancies(NVs) and highly match.d band gap structure.and excellent hole trapping ability of clusters, the NdCo_(3)/pCN photocatalyst exhibits efficient nitrogen re.uction activity with 371(in air) and 825 μmol h^(-1)g^(-1)(in pure.nitrogen)without any sacrificial re.gents. The introduction of potassium sulfate inhibits h.drogen production and promotes nitrogen re.uction activation. This work suggests that anchoring pre.isely structure. clusters on 2d materials may enhance photocatalytic nitrogen re.uction under normal temperature.and pre.sure.

BACKGROUNd Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLd)is one of the most common chronic liver diseases in childre. and adolescents.NAFLd ranges in severity from isolated hepatic steatosis to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASh),where.n hepatocellular inflammation and/or fibrosis coexist with steatosis.Circulating microRNA(miRNA)levels have been suggested to be altere. in NAFLd,but the extent to which miRNA are.re.ated to NAFLd feature. re.ains unknown.This analysis tested the hypothesis that plasma miRNAs are.significantly associated with histological feature. of NAFLd in adolescents.AIM To investigate the re.ationship between plasma miRNA expre.sion and NAFLd feature. among adolescents with NAFLd.METh.dS This study included 81 adolescents diagnosed with NAFLd and 54 adolescents without NAFLd from the Teen-Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery study.Intra-operative core.liver biopsies were.collected from participants and used to characterize histological feature. of NAFLd.plasma samples were.collected during surgery for miRNA profiling.A total of 843 plasma miRNAs were.profiled using the hTG EdgeSeq platform.We examined associations of plasma miRNAs and NAFLd feature. using logistic re.re.sion after adjusting for age,sex,race,and other key covariates.Ingenuity pathways Analysis was used to identify biological functions of miRNAs that were.associated with multiple histological feature. of NAFLd.re.ULTS We identified 16 upre.ulated plasma miRNAs,including miR-193a-5p and miR-193b-5p,and 22 downre.ulated plasma miRNAs,including miR-1282 and miR-6734-5p,in adolescents with NAFLd.More.ver,52,16,15,and 9 plasma miRNAs were.associated with NASh,fibrosis,ballooning degeneration,and lobular inflammation,re.pectively.Collectively,16 miRNAs were.associated with two or more.histological feature. of NAFLd.Among those miRNAs,miR-411-5p was downre.ulated in NASh,ballooning,and fibrosis,while miR-122-5p,miR-1343-5p,miR-193a-5p,miR-193b-5p,and miR-7845-5p were.consistently and positively associated with all histological feature.
