Host genetic factors may predict the outcome and treatment response in hepatitis C virus（HCV）*** of these factors is the single nucleotide polymorphisms of the interleukin 28B（IL28B）*** sought to evaluate the outcome of pegylated interferon and ribavirin therapy in association with IL-28B rs8099917 and rsl2980275 in patients infected with HCV genotype 4.A total of 180 patients with chronic hepatitis C were selected from Egyptians who have received combined therapy with pegylated interferon and ribavirin for 6 months and their response was evaluated after follow-up at 0,6,12,24 and 48 weeks from the beginning of the *** samples were collected from responders and *** DNA was extracted from whole blood and genotyping was carried out by polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism（PCR-RFLP）.Our results showed that TT genotype of rs8099917 was associated with higher sustained viral response（SVR）rates and G allele represented a risk factor for failure of response（OR=3.7,CI=1.8：7.64）while rs12980275 was not significantly associated with SVR in genotype 4 Egyptian *** determination of 1L-28B SNPs may be useful in enhancing correct prediction of SVR achievement in treating this group of genotype 4 patients.

AIm: To evaluate the safety and the efficacy of the ultrasound ciliary plasty(UCP) on the intraocular pressure(IOP) control in glaucomatous eyes without previous glaucoma ***: A retrospective study included patients with primary and secondary glaucoma who underwent UCP in Dar Al Shifa Hospital, Kuwait between January 2017 to June 2018. High-intensity focused ultrasound procedures were performed under peribulbar anesthesia using the 2^(nd) generation probe with 8 s duration of each of the 6 shots. Complete ophthalmologic examinations were scheduled pre-treatment, and at 1 d, 1 wk, 1, 3, 6 and 12 mo posttreatment. Primary outcomes were the IOP reduction and success rates at 12 mo, while the secondary outcomes were the occurrence of vision threatening complications and visual ***: The records of 62 eyes of 62 patients were analyzed with mean age of 63.8 y(67.7% males). There was statistically significant reduction in the mean IOP from 35.2±8.3 mm Hg before treatment to 20.6±8.7 mm Hg at 12^(th) month(Pmean percentage IOP reduction of 42.3% with significant reduction in the mean number of antiglaucomatous drugs from 3.2±0.4 before treatment to 2.1±1.02 at 12 mo(Pmo. No major intra-or posttreatment complications were ***: Second-generation UCP prove to be effective in reducing IOP in naive glaucoma patients with lower success rates in cases of neovascular and uveitic glaucomas.

BACKGROUND Pancreatic cystic lesions(PCLs) are common in clinical practice. The accurate classification and diagnosis of these lesions are crucial to avoid unnecessary treatment of benign lesions and missed opportunities for early treatment of potentially malignant *** To evaluate the role of cyst fluid analysis of different tumor markers such as cancer antigens [e.g., cancer antigen(CA)19-9, CA72-4], carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA), serine protease inhibitor Kazal-type 1(SPINK1), interleukin 1 beta(IL1-β), vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGF-A), and prostaglandin E2(PGE2)], amylase, and mucin stain in diagnosing pancreatic cysts and differentiating malignant from benign *** This study included 76 patients diagnosed with PCLs using different imaging modalities. All patients underwent endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) and EUS-fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA) for characterization and sampling of different *** The mean age of studied patients was 47.4 ± 11.4 years, with a slight female predominance(59.2%). mucin stain showed high statistical significance in predicting malignancy with a sensitivity of 87.1% and specificity of 95.56%. The regeneration of pore water (PW) nutrients was investigated and the contribution of benthic nutrient fluxes to the overlying bottom water (BW) was examined. Dissolved inorganic nutrients (NO-2, NO-3, PO3-4 and SIO4-4) were measured in PW and BW in El mex Bay and surround drains during spring 2010. Nutrient concentrations gradiance in PW with overlying seawater were evaluated according to Fick’s Law. Average inorganic nutrient fluxes were estimated using the pore water gradient concentration across the sediment-water interface. Calculated nutrient fluxes had averages of ﹣7.24, ﹣1.36, ﹣7.86 and ﹣1.33 in El mex Bay. Additionally, the fluxes in the drains were ﹣34.39, ﹣32.28, ﹣53.20 and ﹣117.6 mg·m﹣2·day﹣1 for NO-3, NO-2, PO3-4 and SIO4-4, respectively. mineralogical studies of sediment samples by using IR, X-ray analysis were carried out to identify the chemical structure of sediments. The results revealed that calcite, aragonite and quartz are the dominant minerals. On the other hand, differential thermal analysis (DTA) was used to evaluate and discuss different kinetic parameters such as Ea#, ΔG#, ΔH#, ΔS#, Z and Tm support the view of the extra stability of these sediments.

Background: Chronic kidney disease patients are at a greater risk for nephropathy requiring dialysis after percutaneous coronary intervention. Such patients are usually deferred due to fear of “Renalism”.?Objectives This study assesses the outcome of Low dose contrast protocol during PCI in CKD patients whose e-GFR 60 ml/min/1.72 m and investigates a safety margin for contrast use in these high-risk categories.?methods: Patients were into three groups according to CV/e-GFR ratio: Group (A) low-dose: CV/e-GFR ratio 2.0 Group (B) medium-dose: CV/e-GFR ratio > 2.0 and × bodyweight\***). Group (C) high-dose: CV/e-GFR ratio > mACD. Results: A total of 73 patients were enrolled. Average age was 54 ± 8 years,81.4% were male and 18.6% were females and 52% were diabetic. mean baseline e-GFR was 40 ± 8.0 ml/min/1.73m2. Contrast Volume used in group A was (58.26 ± 15.05) (n = 24), in group B (109.42 ± 17.11) (n = 26) and in group C (304.5 ± 60.30) (n = 23), respectively. The incidences of CI-AKI in the 3 groups were 0%, 11.5% and 35%, respectively (p = 0.02). All-cause death 0%, 17% and introduction of maintenance hemo dialysis was 0%, 11.5% and 26%, respectively (p Conclusion: Low dose contrast protocol is safe, effective and easily applicable technique without CI-AKI or death.

Not many bathymetric maps are available for many lakes and reservoirs in developing countries. Usually the bathymetric mapping requires investment in expensive equipment and fieldwork, both of which are not accessible in these countries. This work demonstrates the ability to develop bathymetric map of mosul Lake by using a digital elevation model (DEm). The depths model of the lake was designed through the use of three main stages;a coastline extraction, dataset interpolation and a triangular irregular network model. The normalized difference water index (NDWI) was used for automatic delineation of the lake coastline from satellite images. The ordinary kriging interpolation with a stable model was used to interpolate the water depths dataset. Finally a triangulated irregular network (TIN) model was used to visualize the resulting interpolation model. Calculated values of area and volume of a TIN model during 2011 were compared with values of supposed initial operation of the reservoir. The differences of water volume storage between these stages at 321 m water level was about 0.81 × 109 m3, where the lake lost around 10% of storage value. Also the results of depths lake model show that the change in water storage between march and July 2011 was about 3.08 × 109 m3.
