Late chordee correction after tubularized incised plate repair for proximal hypospadias:An underreported problem

Background:Repair of proximal hypospadias remains a challenge with no consensus on the best surgical *** reports have shown recurrence of chordee after plate-preserving *** this report,we present our experience in managing cases who presented with persistent/recurrence of chordee after tubularized incised plate(TIP)repair for proximal ***:Between 2015 and 2023,the study included eight patients who presented with ventral penile curvature after previous hypospadias repair in infancy(TIP urethroplasty).Reoperation to correct persistent ventral curvature was performed several years after the primary TIP repair(3-15 years;mean 7.9 years;median 7.5 years).The reoperation was a two-stage procedure:the first stage comprised transection of the urethra and grafting(lower lip mucosal graft);the second stage(6 months later)was a Thiersch-Duplay ***:Complications included poor taking of the graft after the first stage in one case(12.5%),which was regrafted using buccal(cheek)*** after second stage included urethro-cutaneous fistulae in five(62.5%)that were successfully surgically treated at a later ***-up after second stage ranged between 6 months and 7 years(mean 2.4 years;median 1 year).Satisfaction with reoperation to correct penile curvature was noted by parents as well as older children(adolescents)who appreciated better cosmesis by increasing ventral penile length and improved ***:Preservation of the urethral plate in proximal hypospadias may result in shortened penile length,mostly on the ventral aspect.A two-stage reoperation to increase the length of the penile urethra can successfully reverse this complication.

Unveiling vulnerable smart contracts: Toward profiling vulnerable smart contracts using genetic algorithm and generating benchmark dataset

Smart contracts (SCs) are crucial in maintaining trust within blockchain networks. However, existing methods for analyzing SC vulnerabilities often lack accuracy and effectiveness, while approaches based on Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) struggle with detecting complex vulnerabilities due to limited data availability. This paper proposes a novel approach for analyzing SC vulnerabilities. Our method leverages an advanced form of the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and includes the development of a comprehensive benchmark dataset consisting of 36,670 Solidity source code samples. The primary objective of our study is to profile vulnerable SCs effectively. To achieve this goal, we have devised an analyzer called SCsVulLyzer based on GAs, designed explicitly for profiling SCs. Additionally, we have carefully curated a new dataset encompassing a wide range of examples, ensuring the practical validation of our approach. Furthermore, we have established three distinct taxonomies that cover SCs, profiling techniques, and feature extraction. These taxonomies provide a systematic classification and analysis of information, improving the efficiency of our approach. Our methodology underwent rigorous testing through experimentation, and the results demonstrated the superior capabilities of our model in detecting vulnerabilities. Compared to traditional and DNN-based approaches, our approach achieved higher precision, recall, and F1 -score, which are widely used metrics for evaluating model performance. Across all these metrics, our model showed exceptional results. The customization and adaptations we implemented within the GA significantly enhanced its effectiveness. Our approach detects SC vulnerabilities more efficiently and facilitates robust exploration. These promising results highlight the potential of GA -based profiling to improve the detection of SC vulnerabilities, contributing to enhanced security in blockchain networks.

In the restructured electricity market,microgrid(MG),with the incorporation of smart grid technologies,distributed energy resources(DERs),a pumped-storage-hydraulic(PSH)unit,and a demand response program(DRP),is a smarter and more reliable electricity *** consists of gas turbines and renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic systems and wind *** bidding strategies,prepared by MG operators,decrease the electricity cost and emissions from upstream grid and conventional and renewable energy sources(RES).But it is inefficient due to the very high sporadic characteristics of RES and the very high outage *** solve these issues,this study suggests non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(NSGA-Ⅱ)for an optimal bidding strategy considering pumped hydroelectric energy storage and DRP based on outage conditions and uncertainties of renewable energy *** uncertainty related to solar and wind units is modeled using lognormal and Weibull probability ***-based DRP is used,especially considering the time of outages along with the time of peak loads and prices,to enhance the reliability of MG and reduce costs and emissions.

In recent years,with the increasing demand for social production,engineering design problems have gradually become more and more *** novel and well-performing meta-heuristic algorithms have been studied and developed to cope with this *** them,the Spherical Evolutionary Algorithm(SE)is one of the classical representative methods that proposed in recent years with admirable optimization ***,it tends to stagnate prematurely to local optima in solving some specific ***,this paper proposes an SE variant integrating the Cross-search Mutation(CSM)and Gaussian Backbone Strategy(GBS),called *** this study,the CSM can enhance its social learning ability,which strengthens the utilization rate of SE on effective information;the GBS cooperates with the original rules of SE to further improve the convergence effect of *** objectively demonstrate the core advantages of CGSE,this paper designs a series of global optimization experiments based on IEEE CEC2017,and CGSE is used to solve six engineering design problems with *** final experimental results fully showcase that,compared with the existing well-known methods,CGSE has a very significant competitive advantage in global tasks and has certain practical value in real ***,the proposed CGSE is a promising and first-rate algorithm with good potential strength in the field of engineering design.

Mechanical and magneto-electronic properties of europium lanthanide-based cubic perovskites EuYO_(3)(Y=Cr, Mn, Fe): An ab initio study

Computational calculations using density functional theory(DFT) were performed for the first time using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbital method(FP-LAPW + LO) to determine the structural, elastic, electronic and magnetic properties of europium-based cubic perovskites EuYO_(3)(Y=Cr, Mn, Fe). The exchange correlation potentials of GGA along with some analytical methods were adopted for the computation of structural and elastic properties. Moreover, the GGA + U formalism was also added for obtaining more precise electronic and magnetic properties, particularly to address the Eu-4f and Y-3d orientations in the spin-polarized double cell symmetry. The observed lattice parameters of these compounds are consistent with experiment. The observed bulk moduli predict that EuCrO_(3) is harder and less compressible than EuMnO_(3) and EuFeO_(3). The calculated tolerance factors of these compounds are within the cubic symmetry range. Our computed critical radius of EuCrO_(3) shows that EuCrO_(3) has a larger migration energy. Based on their elastic properties, these compounds are ductile in nature. We also computed the thermal properties of these compounds. The band structures and density of states show that these compounds are metallic in character. The lowest ground state energy and magnetic moments of these compounds expose their ferromagnetic nature. The metallic nature and strong ferromagnetism of these compounds make them promising applicants for application in spintronic.
