Adhesive biomaterials,historically,have had a wide range of applications in all medical *** the extensive variety of biomaterials with adhesion properties,the field of orthopedics benefits from using adhesives which can provide superior biocompatibility,resorbability,and low *** goal of this review is to serve as a reference of the types of adhesive biomaterials used clinically and their specific applicability in the field of *** applications of adhesive biomaterials in orthopedics are as scaffolds,filler materials to treat bone defects and as carrier materials to deposit other bioactive materials to a ***,we review the history and background of adhesive biomaterials and some of their general applications in *** we focus on the various types of adhesive biomaterials which include fibrin,collagen,polyurethane,epoxy resin,cyanoacrylates,polyesters and polymethylmethacrylate,all of which are excellent candidates for the field of *** discuss their properties,current applications in all fields,and advantages and disadvantages found in some ***,we indicate some future directions for adhesive biomaterials in orthopedics and highlight their advantages over conventional biomaterials in orthopedics.

Infantile Blount's disease is a condition that causes genu varum and internal tibial torsion. Treatment options include observation, orthotics, corrective osteotomy, elevation of the medial tibial plateau, resection of a physeal bar, lateral hemi-epiphysiodesis, and guided growth of the proximal tibial physis. Each of these treatment options has its disadvantages. Treating the coronal deformity alone(genu varum) will result in persistence of the internal tibial torsion(the axial deformity). In this report, we describe the combination of lateral growth modulation and distal tibial external rotation osteotomy to correct all the elements of the disease. This has not been described before for treatment of Blount's disease. Both coronal and axial deformities were corrected in this patient. We propose this combination(rather than the lateral growth modulation alone) as the method of treatment for early stages of Blount's disease as it corrects both elements of the disease and in the same time avoids the complications of proximal tibial osteotomy.

BACKGROUND Active myofascial trigger points(TrPs)often occur in the upper region of the upper trapezius(UT)*** TrPs can be a significant source of neck,shoulder,and upper back pain and *** TrPs and their related pain and disability can adversely affect an individual’s everyday routine functioning,work-related productivity,and general quality of *** To investigate the effects of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization(IASTM)vs extracorporeal shock wave therapy(ESWT)on the TrPs of the UT *** A randomized,single-blind,comparative clinical study was conducted at the Medical Center of the Egyptian Railway Station in *** patients(28 females and 12 males),aged between 20-years-old and 40-years-old,with active myofascial TrPs in the UT muscle were randomly assigned to two equal groups(A and B).Group A received IASTM,while group B received *** group was treated twice weekly for 2 *** groups received muscle energy technique for the UT *** were evaluated twice(pre-and posttreatment)for pain intensity using the visual analogue scale and for pain pressure threshold(PPT)using a pressure *** Comparing the pre-and post-treatment mean values for all variables for group A,there were significant differences in pain intensity for TrP1 and TrP2(P=0.0001)and PPT for TrP1(P=0.0002)and TrP2(P=0.0001).Also,for group B,there were significant differences between the pre-and post-treatment pain intensity for TrP1 and TrP2 and PPT for TrP1 and TrP2(P=0.0001).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the post-treatment mean values of pain intensity for TrP1(P=0.9)and TrP2(P=0.76)and PPT for TrP1(P=0.09)and for TrP2(P=0.91).CONCLUSION IASTM and ESWT are effective methods for improving pain and PPT in patients with UT muscle *** is no significant difference between either treatment method.

Electrowetting technology,a microfluidic technology,has attracted more and more attention in recent years and has broad prospects in terms of microdroplet *** this paper,the dynamic contact angle theory is used to develop a numerical model to predict the droplet dynamic contact behavior and internal flow field under *** particular,based on the established computational model of droplet force balance,the dynamic process of a droplet under electrowetting is analyzed,including the perspective of pressure variation and force balance inside the *** results show that when the alternating current frequency increases from 50 Hz to 500 Hz,the amplitude of the oscillation waveform after droplet stabilization is 0.036 mm,0.016 mm,0.013 mm and 0.002 mm,while the relevant droplet oscillation period T is 11 ms,4 ms,2 ms and 1 ms,*** is also found that the initial phase angle does not affect the droplet oscillation *** addition,the pressure on the droplet surface under alternating current electrowetting increases rapidly to the maximum value with resonant waveform oscillation,and the droplet will present different resonance modes under voltage *** higher the resonance mode is,the smaller the droplet oscillation amplitude is and the streamline at the interface will present an eddy current,in which the number of vortices matches the resonance mode.A high resonance mode corresponds to a small droplet amplitude,while there are more vortices with a smaller size.

Identity verification using authenticity evaluation of handwritten signatures is an important *** have been several approaches for the verification of signatures using dynamics of the signing *** of these approaches extract only global *** the aim of capturing both dynamic global and local features,this paper introduces a novel model for verifying handwritten dynamic signatures using neutrosophic rule-based verification system(NRVS)and Genetic NRVS(GNRVS)*** neutrosophic Logic is structured to reflect multiple types of knowledge and relations among all features using three values:truth,indeterminacy,and *** three values are determined by neutrosophic membership *** proposed model also is able to deal with all features without the need to select from *** the GNRVS model,the neutrosophic rules are automatically chosen by Genetic *** performance of the proposed system is tested on the MCYT-Signature-100 *** terms of the accuracy,average error rate,false acceptance rate,and false rejection rate,the experimental results indicate that the proposed model has a significant advantage compared to different well-known models.

In a post-disaster environment characterized by frequent interruptions in communication links,traditional wireless communication networks are *** the“store-carry-forward”mechanism characteristic of Delay Tolerant Networks(DTNs)can transmit data from Internet of things devices to more reliable base stations or data centres,it also suffers from inefficient data transmission and excessive transmission *** address these challenges,we propose an intelligent routing strategy based on node sociability for post-disaster emergency network ***,we introduce an intelligent routing strategy based on node intimacy,which selects more suitable relay nodes and assigns the corresponding number of message copies based on comprehensive utility ***,we present an intelligent routing strategy based on geographical location of nodes to forward message replicas secondarily based on transmission utility ***,experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm in terms of message delivery rate,network cost ratio and average transmission delay.

This study presents a technique for power frequency AC voltage *** proposed technique utilises a capacitor having a low capacitance in addition to a double wound Rogowski *** technique depends on capacitor current measurement using the double wound Rogowski *** voltage across the capacitor that connected in parallel with the system at which AC voltage is intended to be measured is *** proposed technique is experimentally evaluated by designing the measurement system and using a digital signal processing board for the reconstruction ***,the experimental results based on Rogowski coil measurements are compared with those obtained from reference ***,the obtained results validate the efficacy of the proposed technique in power frequency AC voltage measurement.
