Many respiratory infections around the world have been caused by ***-19 is one of the most serious coronaviruses due to its rapid spread between people and the lowest survival *** is a high need for computer-assisted diagnostics(CAD)in the area of artificial intelligence to help doctors and radiologists identify COVID-19 patients in cloud *** learning(ML)has been used to examine chest X-ray *** this paper,a new transfer learning-based optimized extreme deep learning paradigm is proposed to identify the chest X-ray picture into three classes,a pneumonia patient,a COVID-19 patient,or a normal ***,three different pre-trainedConvolutionalNeuralNetwork(CNN)models(resnet18,resnet25,densenet201)are employed for deep feature ***,each feature vector is passed through the binary Butterfly optimization algorithm(bBOA)to reduce the redundant features and extract the most representative ones,and enhance the performance of the CNN *** selective features are then passed to an improved Extreme learning machine(ELM)using a BOA to classify the chest X-ray *** proposed paradigm achieves a 99.48%accuracy in detecting covid-19 cases.

Classification of gene expression data is a pivotal research area that plays a substantial role in diagnosis and prediction of diseases. Generally, feature selection is one of the extensively used techniques in data mining approaches, especially in classification. Gene expression data are usually composed of dozens of samples characterized by thousands of genes. This increases the dimensionality coupled with the existence of irrelevant and redundant features. Accordingly, the selection of informative genes (features) becomes difficult, which badly affects the gene classification accuracy. In this paper, we consider the feature selection for classifying gene expression microarray datasets. The goal is to detect the most possibly cancer-related genes in a distributed manner, which helps in effectively classifying the samples. Initially, the available huge amount of considered features are subdivided and distributed among several processors. Then, a new filter selection method based on a fuzzy inference system is applied to each subset of the dataset. Finally, all the resulted features are ranked, then a wrapper-based selection method is applied. Experimental results showed that our proposed feature selection technique performs better than other techniques since it produces lower time latency and improves classification performance.

Background:Squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)of the bladder is common in many regions around the *** is very poor,as most cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage due to a lack of affordable and valid screening markers for this type of *** diagnostic accuracy of urinary nuclear matrix protein-22(NMP22),telomerase activity,and CD44 were evaluated in urine samples of patients with bladder *** and methods:We conducted a case-control study comprised of 60 consecutive newly diagnosed bladder SCC patients diagnosed by cystoscopy and histopathological examination,and controls were 60 outpatients with benign urologic conditions and healthy clinic *** samples collected from each subject underwent testing for NMP22,telomerase activity,and *** and correlational statistical analysis of cases and controls were carried out and receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was used to determine optimal cut-off points for the three ***:Area under the curve was calculated at 0.96,0.93,and 0.62 for NMP22,telomerase,and CD44,*** levels of NMP22 and telomerase activity were significantly higher in the SCC group compared to controls(p<0.001).Urine CD44 levels were not significantly higher in the SCC group compared to controls(p=0.111).The overall sensitivity of NMP22,telomerase,and CD44 was 96.7%,87%,and 45%,respectively,while the specificity was 85%,88.6%,and 86.7%,***:Urinary telomerase activity,followed by NMP22 urine levels,showed high diagnostic yield and could hold potential promise as urinary biomarkers for the diagnosis of bladder SCC.

BACKGROUND Healthy vestibular system adjusts balance during static and dynamic *** is important for normal development(standing up and walking).Vestipulopathies(central and peripheral)are common complications of diabetes in adult *** studies are scare in children with type 1 diabetes(T1D).AIM To assess saccular function of otolith organ in children with T1D and predictors for its *** Cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potential(cVEMP)was used for objective *** The study included 40 patients(boys=15;girls=25).Patients had mean age of 13.63±1.50 years,duration of diabetes of 5.62±2.80 years,frequent attacks of diabetic ketoacidosis(55%)and hypoglycemia(30%),hyperlipidemia(20%),hypertension(12.5%)and peripheral neuropathy(40%).Dizziness was found in 10%.Compared to healthy children(n=25),patients had prolonged cVEMP P1 and N1 latencies and reduced P1-N1 *** cVEMP abnormalities were found in 60%(vs 25%for unilateral abnormalities).Higher frequencies and severe vestibulopathies were found with chronic diabetes of>5 years,hemoglobin A1c values>7%,frequent diabetic ketoacidosis and hypoglycemic attacks and presence of *** analyses showed that predictors for prolonged P1 latencies and reduced P1-N1 amplitudes were only chronic diabetes(>5 years){odds ratio(OR)=2.80[95%confidence interval(CI):1.80–5.33],P=0.01;OR=3.42(95%CI:2.82–6.81)}and its severity(hemoglobin A1c>7%)[OR=3.05(95%CI:2.55–6.82),P=0.01;OR=4.20(95%CI:3.55–8.50),P=0.001].CONCLUSION Dysfunction or injury of the saccular macula and its pathways is prevalent in children with *** glycemic control is important to prevent diabetes related vestipulopathies.

A large subset of corneal pathologies involves the formation of new vessels(neovascularization), leading to compromised visual acuity. This article aims to review the clinical causes and presentations of corneal neovascularization(CNV) by examining the mechanisms behind common CNV-related corneal pathologies, with a particular focus on herpes simplex stromal keratitis,contact lenses-induced keratitis and CNV secondary to keratoplasty. Moreover, we reviewed CNV in the context of different types of corneal transplantation and keratoprosthesis, and summarized the most relevant treatment available so far.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract as an adjunct treatment on lead acetate induced hepatonephrotoxicity in rabbits. Methods: Thirty-six male New Zealand White rabbits were assigned into two main groups. The first group(14 rabbits) served as normal control. The second group(22 rabbits) was administered orally with lead acetate at a dose of 40 mg/kg/day, 5 days/week for 8 weeks. At the 4 th and the 8 th week of treatment, 6 animals(3 animals at each period) of the second group were sacrificed while the remaining animals(16 rabbits) were assigned randomly into 2 subgroups(8 rabbits each): treated and non-treated. The first subgroup was orally given 1 m L phosphate-buffered saline for further 4 weeks while the second subgroup was administered orally with Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract at a dose of 400 mg/kg/day for the same period. Blood samples were collected to determine hematological and serum biochemical indices. Tissue specimens were collected from the liver and kidney for evaluation of the oxidant/antioxidant markers and for histopathological ***: Lead acetate exposure decreased the mean body weight gain, hematocrit, hemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, and lymphocytes count. Moreover, it markedly increased counts of monocytes and platelets, serum enzyme activity, levels of creatinine, total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Malondialdehyde level was markedly increased while the reduced glutathione content was significantly decreased in liver tissue of lead intoxicated-rabbits. Histopathological alterations were also noticed in the liver and kidney of lead intoxicated rabbits. Moringa oleifera leaf ethanol extract significantly improved hematological and serum biochemical parameters and histopathological structure of the liver and kidney. AIM: To develop a mathematical model for the early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with a panel of serum proteins in combination with α-fetoprotein (AFP).METHODS: Serum levels of interleukin (IL)-8, soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), soluble tumor necrosis factor receptor II (sTNF-RII), proteasome, and β-catenin were measured in 479 subjects categorized into four groups: (1) HCC concurrent with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection (n = 192); (2) HCV related liver cirrhosis (LC) (n = 96); (3) Chronic hepatitis C (CHC) (n = 96); and (4) Healthy controls (n = 95). The R package and different modules for binary and multi-class classifiers based on generalized linear models were used to model the data. Predictive power was used to evaluate the performance of the model. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis over pairs of groups was used to identify the best cutoffs differentiating the different ***: We revealed mathematical models, based on a binary classifier, made up of a unique panel of serum proteins that improved the individual performance of AFP in discriminating HCC patients from patients with chronic liver disease either with or without cirrhosis. We discriminated the HCC group from the cirrhotic liver group using a mathematical model (-11.3 + 7.38 × Prot + 0.00108 × sICAM + 0.2574 × β-catenin + 0.01597 × AFP) with a cutoff of 0.6552, which achieved 98.8% specificity and 89.1% sensitivity. For the discrimination of the HCC group from the CHC group, we used a mathematical model [-10.40 + 1.416 × proteasome + 0.002024 × IL + 0.004096 × sICAM-1 + (4.251 × 10-4) × sTNF + 0.02567 × β-catenin + 0.02442 × AFP] with a cutoff 0.744 and achieved 96.8% specificity and 89.7% sensitivity.
