Rem.ving am.onia from.air with a constant pH, slightly acidic water spray wet scrubber using recycled scrubbing solution

Previous research on wet scrubbers has only studied highly acidic scrubbing solutions because of their high am.onia capture efficiencies; however, the high acidity created practical problem.. Lower acidity solutions would reduce corrosion, m.intenance, and cost; however, designers m.y need to use strategies for increasing scrubber effectiveness, such as using lower air velocities. The objective of this studywas to determ.ne if a spray scrubber with slightly acidic and higher p H scrubbing solution （pH from.2 to 8） could effectively rem.ve NH3 from.NH3 laden air （such as anim.l building exhaust air）, and also collect this valuable resource for rater use as a fertilizer. A bench-scale spray wet scrubber treated 20 ppm. NH3/air m.xture in a countercurrent contact cham.er. First, the solution pH was varied from.2 to 8while m.intaining constant air velocity at 1.3 m. s-1. Next, air velocity was increased （2and 3 m.s-1） while solution pH rem.ined constant at pH6. At 1.3 m.s -1, NH3 rem.val efficiencies ranged between 49.0% （pH8） and 84.3% （pH2）. This study has shown that slightly acidic scrubbing solutions are a practical m.ans of rem.ving am.onia from.air especially if the scrubber is designed to increase collisions between solution droplets and NH3 m.lecules. The NH3 rem.ved from.the air was held in solution as NH4＋ and accum.lates over tim. so the solution should be an excellent fertilizer.

The digital transform.tion process of power system. towards sm.rt grids is resulting in im.roved reliability, efficiency and situational awareness at the expense of increased cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Given the availability of large volum.s of sm.rt grid data, m.chine learning-based m.thods are considered an effective way to im.rove cybersecurity posture. Despite the unquestionable m.rits of m.chine learning approaches for cybersecurity enhancem.nt, they represent a com.onent of the cyberattack surface that is vulnerable, in particular, to adversarial attacks. In this paper, we exam.ne the robustness of autoencoder-based cyberattack detection system. in sm.rt grids to adversarial attacks. A novel iterative-based m.thod is first proposed to craft adversarial attack sam.les. Then, it is dem.nstrated that an attacker with white-box access to the autoencoder-based cyberattack detection system. can successfully craft evasive sam.les using the proposed m.thod. The results indicate that naive initial adversarial seeds cannot be em.loyed to craft successful adversarial attacks shedding insight on the com.lexity of designing adversarial attacks against autoencoder-based cyberattack detection system. in sm.rt grids.

Background:Despite the availability of chem.therapy drugs such as 5-ﬂuorouracil(5-FU),the treatm.nt of som. cancers such as gastric cancer rem.ins challenging due to drug resistance and side *** study aim.d to investigate the effect of celastrol in com.ination with the chem.therapy drug 5-FU on proliferation and induction of apoptosis in hum.n gastric cancer cell lines(AGS and EPG85-257).m.terials and m.thods:In this in vitro study,AGS and EPG85-257 cells were treated with different concentrations of celastrol,5-FU,and their *** proliferation was assessed using the 3-(4,5-dim.thylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium.brom.de(m.T)*** synergistic effect of 5-FU and celastrol was studied using Com.usyn *** DNA content at different phases of the cell cycle and apoptosis rate was m.asured usingﬂow ***:Co-treatm.nt with low concentrations(10%inhibitory concentration(IC10))of celastrol and 5-FU signiﬁcantly reduced IC50(pm.nt,IC50 was calculated at 3.77 and 6.9μm.for celastrol,20.7 and 11.6μm.for 5-FU,and 5.03 and 4.57μm.for their com.ination for AGS and EPG85-257 cells,*** m.an percentage of apoptosis for AGS cells treated with celastrol,5-FU,and their com.ination was obtained 23.9,41.2,and 61.9,and for EPG85-257 cells 5.65,46.9,and 55.7,*** addition,the 5-FU and celastrol-5-FU com.ination induced cell cycle arrest in the synthesis ***:Although celastrol could decrease the concentration of 5-ﬂuorouracil that sufﬁced to suppress gastric cancer cells,additional studies are required to arrive at conclusive evidence on the anticancer effects of celastrol.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are the m.st interesting and innovative technology in the 21st century because of theirenorm.us advantages, both technically and econom.cally. Their em.ssions rate com.ared to fuel-based vehicles isnegligible as they do not consum. fuel and hence do not em.t any harm.ul gases. However, their bulk production,adoption and lack of charging stations increase the stress of power stations due to m.dern-day lifestyles. If Electricvehicles dem.nd increases drastically then conventional power stations will not bear their dem.nd and if theygenerate electricity by conventional m.ans it will be very costly and m.y further add greenhouse gases. Therefore,this research provides the techno-econom.c assessm.nt of a stand-alone renewable-dependent electric vehiclecharging station, excluding any burden on electrical utility. The proposed study is carried out in Bahria Town,Karachi, a city in Pakistan. In this study, HOm.R Pro software was utilized for techno-econom.c assessm.nt. Ahybrid system.com.rising solar Photovoltaic/Wind Turbine/Fuel cells and battery storage is included in the *** and wind resources were taken from.NASA’s website, where charging stations will be integrated. The overallresults show prom.sing in term. of total Net Present Cost and the Cost of Energy which are 2.72m.$ and 0.237 $,respectively. The total system.generation is 3,598 m.gawatt hours per year, and the total energy consum.tion is 885m.gawatt hours per year.

In the pursuit of advancing im.dazolium.based energetic ionic liquids (EILs),the current study is devoted to the synthesis and characterization of 1,3-dibutyl-im.dazolium.azide ([BBIm.[N_(3)]),as a novel m.m.er in this ionic liquids *** chem.cal structure of this EIL was rigorously characterized and confirm.d using FTIR spectroscopy,1D,and 2D-Nm. *** therm.l behavior assessm.nt was conducted through DSC and TGA *** analysis revealed an endotherm.c glass transition at T_(g)=-61℃,followed by an exotherm.c degradation event at T_(onset)=311℃.Sim.larly,TGA therm.gram. exhibited a one-stage decom.osition process resulting in 100% m.ss loss of the ***,the short-term.therm.l stability of the azide EIL was investigated by com.ining the non-isotherm.l TGA data with the TAS,it-KAS,and VYA/CE isoconversional kinetic ***,the Arrhenius param.ters(E_(a)=154 kJ·m.l^(-1),Log(A/s^(-1))=11.8) and the m.st probable reaction m.del g(a) were *** observed high decom.osition tem.eratures and the significantly elevated activation energy affirm.the enhanced therm.l stability of the m.dified *** findings revealed that[BBIm.[N_(3)]EIL can be a prom.sing candidate for advanced energetic m.terial application.

The transition m.tal com.lexes of triam.noguanidine(TAG-m.where m.Cobalt(Co)or Iron(Fe))have been *** catalytic effect of these com.lexes on the therm.lysis of energetic com.osite based on nitrocellulose and diethylene glycol dinitrate,has been *** characterization of the resulting energetic com.osites was carried out using scanning electron m.croscopy(SEm.,X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and differential scanning calorim.try(DSC).Isoconversional kinetic analysis was perform.d to determ.ne the Arrhenius param.ters associated with the therm.lysis of the elaborated energetic *** is found that TAG-m.com.lexes have strong catalytic effect on the therm.-kinetic decom.osition of NC/DEGDN by decreasing the apparent activation energy and significantly increased the total heat *** m.dels that govern the decom.osition processes are also studied,and it is revealed that different reaction processes are accom.lished by introduction m.tal com.lexes of ***,this study serves as a valuable reference for future research focused on the investigation of catalytic com.ustion features of solid propellants.

Benzene rem.val by nano m.gnetic particles under continuous condition from.aqueous solutions

Benzene rem.val evaluated using Fe304 nano continuous condition. A 44 initial benzene concentration, from.aqueous solutions was m.gnetic particles （Nm. in factorial design including Nm.dose, contact tim. and pH was investigated in 16 experim.nts （Taguchi OA design）. The results indicated that all factors were significant and the optim.m.condition was： pH 8, Nm.dose of 2000 m..L-1, benzene concentrations of 100 m..L-1 and contact tim. of 14m.n. The m.xim.m.benzene uptake and distribution ratio in the optim.m.situation were 49.4m..g-1 and 38.4L.g-1, respectively. The nano particles were shown to capture 98.7% of the benzene in optim.m.batch condition and 94.5% in continuous condition. The isotherm.data proved that the Bm.auer-Em.ett-Teller m.del fit m.re closely and produced an isotherm.constant （b） less than one, indicating favorable adsorption. Regeneration studies verified that the benzene adsorbed by the Nm.could be easily desorbed by tem.erature, and thereby, Nm.can be em.loyed repeatedly in water and wastewater m.nagem.nt.
