The generation and control of large amplitude plasma gratings and other plasma structures is of paramount importance for the realization of plasma photonics. Autoresonant excitation of such structures by means of chirped amplitude-modulated lasers has been recently discussed and analyzed theoretically. Here we discuss the parameter space for the realization of such a scheme and describe the laser system that was built towards this goal. We also expand our earlier theoretical study to account for the more realistic case of a moderately focused laser beam, instead of the simplified plane wave approximation.

Graphitic carbon nitride with nanorod structure(Nr-GCN)was synthesized using melamine as a precursor without any other reagents by hydrothermal pretreatment method.XRD,FTIR,SEM,N_(2)adsorption-desorption from BET,UV-Vis DRS spectroscopy,and photoluminescence were used to characterize the prepared samples.Also,the photoelectrochemical behavior of nanoparticles was studied by photocurrent transient response and cyclic voltammetry analysis.Polystyrene(PS)fibrous mat was fabricated by electrospinning technique and used as a support for the stabilization of the nanoparticles.The performance of the synthesized nanoparticles and photocatalytic fibers(PS/Nr-GCN)was evaluated in oilfield-produced water treatment under visible light irradiation.During this process,oil contaminants were adsorbed by hydrophobic polystyrene fibers and simultaneously degraded by Nr-GCN.The removal efficiency of chemical oxygen demand(COD)has been obtained 96.6%and 98.4%by Nr-GCN and PS/Nr-GCN,respectively,at the optimum conditions of pH4,photocatalyst dosage 0.5 g/L,COD initial concentration 550 mg/L,and illumination time 150 min.The gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy analysis results showed 99.3%removal of total petroleum hydrocarbons using photocatalytic fibers of PS/Nr-GCN.The results demonstrated that the GCN has outstanding features like controllable morphology,visible-light-driven,and showing high potential in oily wastewater remediation.Moreover,the synergistic effect of adsorption and photocatalytic degradation is an effective technique in oilfield-produced water treatment.

Chimeric antigen receptor T(CAR-T)cell therapy represents a breakthrough in personalized cancer treatments.In this regard,synthetic receptors comprised of antigen recognition domains,signaling,and stimulatory domains are used to reprogram T-cells to target tum or cells and destroy them.Despite the success of this approach in refractory B-cell malignancies,the optimal potency of CAR T-cell therapy for many other cancers,particularly solid tumors,has not been validated.Natural killer cells are powerful cytotoxic lymphocytes specialized in recognizing and dispensing the tumor cells in coordination with other anti-tumor immunity cells.Based on these studies,many investigations are focused on the accurate designing of CAR T-cells with clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9(Cas9)system or other novel gene editing tools that can induce hereditary changes with or without the presence of a double-stranded break into the genome.These methodologies can be specifically focused on negative controllers of T-cells,induce modifications to a particular gene,and produce reproducible,safe,and powerful allogeneic CAR T-cells for on-demand cancer immunotherapy.The improvement of the CRISPR/Cas9 innovation offers an adaptable and proficient gene-editing capability in activating different pathways to help natural killer cells interact with novel CARs to particularly target tumor cells.Novel achievements and future challenges of combining next-generation CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing tools to optimize CAR T-cell and natural killer cell treatment for future clinical trials toward the foundation of modern cancer treatments have been assessed inthis review.

CRISPR/Cas9 is an effective gene editing tool with broad applications for the pre-vention or treatment of numerous diseases.It depends on CRiSPR(clustered regularly inter-spaced short palindromic repeats)as a bacterial immune system and plays as a gene editing tool.Due to the higher specificity and efficiency of CRISPR/Cas9 compared to other editing ap-proaches,it has been broadly investigated to treat numerous hereditary and acquired ill-nesses,including cancers,hemolytic diseases,immunodeficiency disorders,cardiovascular diseases,visual maladies,neurodegenerative conditions,and a few X-linked disorders.CRISPR/Cas9 system has been used to treat cancers through a variety of approaches,with sta-ble gene editing techniques.Here,the applications and clinical trials of CRisPR/Cas9 in various illnesses are described.Due to its high precision and efficiency,CRISPR/Cas9 strategies may treat gene-related illnesses by deleting,inserting,modifying,or blocking the expression of specific genes.The most challenging barrier to the in vivo use of CRISPR/Cas9 like off-target effects will be discussed.The use of transfection vehicles for CRISPR/Cas9,including viral vectors(such as an Adeno-associated virus(AAV),and the development of non-viral vectors is also considered.

This paper aims to investigate the tragacanth gum potential as a natural polymer combined with natural clay mineral(montmorillonite,kaolinite,and illite)nanoparticles(NPs)to form NP-polymer suspension for enhanced oil recovery(EOR)in carbonate reservoirs.Thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA)tests were conducted initially in order to evaluate the properties of tragacanth gum.Subsequently,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and energy-dispersive X-ray(EDX)tests were used to detect the structure of clay particles.In various scenarios,the effects of natural NPs and polymer on the wettability alteration,interfacial tension(IFT)reduction,viscosity improvement,and oil recovery were investigated through contact angle system,ring method,Anton Paar viscometer,and core flooding tests,respectively.The entire experiment was conducted at 25,50,and 75℃,respectively.According to the experimental results,the clay minerals alone did not have a significant effect on viscosity,but the addition of minerals to the polymer solution leads to the viscosity enhancement remarkably,resulting mobility ratio improvement.Among clay NPs,the combination of natural polymer and kaolinite results in increased viscosity at all temperatures.Considerable wettability alteration was also observed in the case of natural polymer and illite NPs.Illite in combination with natural polymer showed an ability in reducing IFT.Finally,the results of displacement experiments revealed that the combination of natural polymer and kaolinite could be the best option for EOR due to its substantial ability to improve the recovery factor.

Rationale:Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis(SSPE)is a progressive neurological disorder caused by persistent measles virus infection.SSPE predominantly affects children and adolescents.The symptoms usually develop 6-15 years after measles infection and ultimately leading to death in many cases.Patient concerns:Patient 1 presented with cognitive decline and myoclonus and the Patient 2 presented with diminution of vision with myoclonic jerks.Diagnosis:Based on the clinical features with a characteristic electroencephalogram pattern and the presence of a high titer of anti-measles IgG in serum and cerebrospinal fluid,these patients were diagnosed as SSPE.Interventions:Antiepileptics were started for controlling myoclonus along with supportive treatment.Outcomes:Both patients were discharged on antiepileptics and supportive care.Lessons:Whenever there are unusual clinical manifestations with unknown vaccination status,SSPE can be suspected and the cerebrospinal fluid should be examined for anti-measles antibodies.Our case study also highlights the importance of universal coverage of measles vaccination.To reduce the incidence of measles and associated deaths,it is important to maintain a high level of immunization coverage for the measles vaccine and to strengthen all the integral components of the national immunization program.

Over the past years,many efforts have been accomplished to achieve fast and accurate meta-heuristic algorithms to optimize a variety of real-world problems.This study presents a new optimization method based on an unusual geological phenomenon in nature,named Geyser inspired Algorithm(GEA).The mathematical modeling of this geological phenomenon is carried out to have a better understanding of the optimization process.The efficiency and accuracy of GEA are verified using statistical examination and convergence rate comparison on numerous CEC 2005,CEC 2014,CEC 2017,and real-parameter benchmark functions.Moreover,GEA has been applied to several real-parameter engineering optimization problems to evaluate its effectiveness.In addition,to demonstrate the applicability and robustness of GEA,a comprehensive investigation is performed for a fair comparison with other standard optimization methods.The results demonstrate that GEA is noticeably prosperous in reaching the optimal solutions with a high convergence rate in comparison with other well-known nature-inspired algorithms,including ABC,BBO,PSO,and RCGA.Note that the source code of the GEA is publicly available at https://***/projects/gea.

A77-year-old woman presented with interchangeable episodes of both fast and slow heart rate.Past history was notable for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation treated with eliquis and tambocor and atrial septal defect closure 35 years ago.Except for mild tachycardia,vitals and physical examination were unremarkable.The 12-lead electrocardiogram(Figure 1)showed narrow complex tachycardia at 106 beats/min without obvious P-waves.

Thin-bedded turbidites are important hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs in many mature fields throughout the world. The type of turbidite depositional setting strongly influences vertical and horizontal continuity of the reservoir. However, distinguishing between lobe and levee associated thin-bedded turbidites remains challenging due to their generally similar facies characteristics. This study aims to contribute some insights to this problem by conducting a detailed bed-scale facies analysis on the Early Miocene Temburong Formation exposed at Kampung Bebuloh, Labuan Island, Malaysia, which may uncover features that can help in differentiating between both depositional types. Six facies are recognized in the Temburong Formation, which are interpreted as low density turbidites (F1-F4), hybrid event beds (F5), and sustained turbidites (F6). Detailed facies and ichnology analysis reveal features which are consistent with a lobe fringe deposit rather than leveeassociated environment interpretation, including tabular bed geometries, presence of hybrid event beds, and the absence of thick-bedded channel-fill sandstones. Five facies associations are identified and interpreted as representing sub-environments within an overall lobe depositional setting. A diverse trace fossil assemblage,comprising the Nereites ichnofacies is consistent with a deep marine environment. Further identification of the Paleodictyon and Nereites sub-ichnofacies indicates a distal turbidite system setting, most likely lobe fringe.Based on the thick accumulation of FA2 and FA3 and no distinct observable vertical trend, the Early Miocene Temburong Formation in Labuan is interpreted as turbidites deposited at the fringes of lobe complexes rather than a single lobe fringe. Earlier works into the Temburong Formation in SW Labuan proposed a middle slope to proximal basin floor setting where the thin-bedded intervals were interpreted as potentially representing either levee deposits or the fringes of confined lobe deposits.
