Both plant receptor-like protein kinases(RLKs)and ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis play crucial roles in plant responses to drought ***,the mechanism by which E3 ubiquitin ligases modulate RLKs is poorly *** this study,we showed that Arabidopsis PLANT U-BOX PROTEIN 11(PUB11),an E3 ubiquitin ligase,negatively regulates abscisic acid(ABA)-mediated drought ***11 interacts with and ubiquitinates two receptor-like protein kinases,LEUCINE RICH REPEAT PROTEIN 1(LRR1)and KINASE 7(KIN7),and mediates their degradation during plant responses to drought stress in vitro and in ***11 mutants were more tolerant,whereas Irr1 and kin7 mutants were more sensitive,to drought stress than the wild *** analyses show that the pub11 Irr1 kin7 triple mutant exhibited similar drought sensitivity as the Irr1 kin7 double mutant,placing PUB11 upstream of the two *** acid and drought treatment promoted the accumulation of PUB11,which likely accelerates LRR1 and KIN7 ***,our results reveal that PUB11 negatively regulates plant responses to drought stress by destabilizing the LRR1 and KIN7 RLKs.

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs),with their highly coordinated structure,high porosity,and tunability have piqued vast scientific attention as a promising platform for creating high-efficiency electrocatalysts for water ***,the conventional methods of creating MOF-derived electrocatalysts are time-and energy-consuming and often lead to significant aggregation of metal particles and the formation of non-homogeneous porous *** this research,we leverage the potential of the MOF-template-directed fabrication approach,combined with microwave heating and laser-assisted post-treatment,to develop a facile,scalable,and versatile strategy for electrocatalyst ***,hierarchically structured Ni-based MOF-74 was rapidly synthesized from the Ni hydroxide nanosheet arrays deposited onto a Ni foam substrate using microwave-assisted ***,the obtained structures were treated using a focused laser to create MOF-74(Ni)-derived composite electrocatalyst featuring encapsulated nickel oxide *** resulting electrocatalyst exhibited high efficiency and stability for facilitating the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)under alkaline *** outstanding electrocatalytic performance of the developed material enables it to reach a current density of 50 mA/cm?at an overpotential of 318 *** electrocatalytic activity can be attributed to its distinctive morphology,which offers numerous exposed active sites for water *** experimental data gathered in this study is anticipated to be of significant value for the synthesis of other MOF-derived composite materials featuring hierarchical ***,the study emphasized the importance of using a combination of microwave heating and laser-assisted post-treatment of MOFs to achieve a sustainable and efficient process for electrocatalyst synthesis.

Increasing carbon（C） sequestration and stability in agricultural soils is a key strategy to mitigate climate change towards C neutrality. Crop diversification is an initiative to increase C sequestration in fields, but it is unclear how legume-based crop diversification impacts the functional components of soil organic carbon（SOC） in dryland, including the formation and transformation of particulate organic carbon（POC） and mineral-associated organic carbon（MAOC）. We investigated the decomposition of straw residues, the fate of photosynthesized C,as well as the formation of MAOC and POC fractions using an in situ13C labeling technique in the soybean-wheat intercropping, soybeanmaize intercropping and their respective monocropping systems, with and without cover crops. After 4-year treatments, the total SOC content in bulk soil remained unchanged, while MAOC content increased significantly by 5.6% with intercropping. Moreover, the in situ13C labeling results confirmed that more photosynthesized C was transferred to MAOC, and less was retained in the POC fraction. Intercropping significantly increased total soil N and mineral N content by 15.3% and 13.4%, respectively, and decreased soil and microbial C/N ratio by11.3% and 17.4%, respectively. This outcome, therefore, relieved microbial N limitation and accelerated straw residue ***, the potential of MAOC formation was strengthened for better SOC persistence. Our study suggests that legume-based crop diversification can effectively enrich N and support POC transformation to MAOC, accordingly contributing to the persistent SOC pool and thus potentially achieving C neutrality under climate change in dryland agroecosystems.

Atrial fibrillation(AF)/atrial flutter(AFL)is the most common sustained cardiac *** known risk factors for developing AF/AFL include age,structural heart disease,hypertension,diabetes mellitus,or *** study aims to attribute the trends in AF/AFL-related mortalities over the past two decades 1999-2020 concerning race and sex and disparity among *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first study that estimates the trends and mortality due to AF/AFL from 1999-2020 in older adults in the United *** this 21-year analysis of mortality data,we found a constant increase in mortality rates due to AF/AFL in older *** 1999 to 2020,the overall mortality in older adults aged 65 and above,regardless of sex and race,is found to be almost doubled *** a 50.2%increase in the number of deaths due to AF/***,other confounding risk factors such has obesity,prior myocardial infarction,inflammation,hypertension,birth weight,diabetes mellitus,hyperthyroidism,hormone replacement therapy in menopausal women increases the risk in the occurrence or recurrent occurrence of AF.

Using the reductive perturbation method,we have derived the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili（KP） equation to study the nonlinear properties of electrostatic collisionless dust ion-acoustic solitons in pair-ion（p-i） *** have chosen the fluid model for the positive ions,the negative ions,and a fraction of static charged（both positively and negatively） dust *** solutions of these dust ion-acoustic solitons are plotted and their characteristics are *** is found that only the amplitudes of the electrostatic dust ion-acoustic solitons vary when the dust is introduced in the pair-ion *** is also noticed that the amplitude and the width of these solitons both vary when the thermal energy of the positive or negative ions is *** is shown that potential hump structures are formed when the temperature of the negative ions is higher than that of the positive ions,and potential dip structures are observed when the temperature of the positive ions supersedes that of the negative *** the pair-ion plasma mimics the electron-positron plasma,thus our results might be helpful in understanding the nonlinear dust ion acoustic solitary waves in super dense astronomical bodies.

The present study pertains to the trilayer graphene in the presence of spin orbit coupling to probe the quantum spin/valley Hall effect. The spin Chern-number Cs for energy-bands of trilayer graphene having the essence of intrinsic spin-orbit coupling is analytically calculated. We find that for each valley and spin, Cs is three times larger in trilayer graphene as compared to single layer graphene. Since the spin Chern-number corresponds to the number of edge states, consequently the trilayer graphene has edge states, three times more in comparison to single layer graphene. We also study the trilayer graphene in the presence of both electric-field and intrinsic spin-orbit coupling and investigate that the trilayer graphene goes through a phase transition from a quantum spin Hall state to a quantum valley Hall state when the strength of the electric field exceeds the intrinsic spin coupling strength. The robustness of the associated topological bulk-state of the trilayer graphene is evaluated by adding various perturbations such as Rashba spin-orbit （RSO） interaction αR, and exchange-magnetization M. In addition, we consider a theoretical model, where only one of the outer layers in trilayer graphene has the essence of intrinsic spin-orbit coupling, while the other two layers have zero intrinsic spin-orbit coupling. Although the first Chern number is non-zero for individual valleys of trilayer graphene in this model, however, we find that the system cannot be regarded as a topological insulator because the system as a whole is not gaped.
