In this letter,we comment on a recent article published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology by Xiao et al,where the authors aimed to use a deep learning model to automatically detect gastrointestinal lesions during capsule endoscopy(CE).CE was first presented in 2000 and was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in *** indications of CE overlap with those of regular diagnostic ***,in clinical practice,CE is usually used to detect lesions in areas inaccessible to standard endoscopies or in cases of bleeding that might be missed during conventional *** the emergence of CE,many physiological and technical challenges have been faced and *** this letter,we summarize the current challenges and briefly mention the proposed methods to overcome these challenges to answer a central question:Do we still need CE?

Salinity stress is a major challenge for global agriculture,particularly in arid and semi-arid regions,limiting plant productivity due to water and soil *** conditions particularly affect countries along the southern Mediterranean rim,including Algeria,which primarily focuses on pastoral and forage *** study investigates salinity tolerance and ecotypic variability in Vicia narbonensis L.,a fodder legume species recognized for its potential to reclaim marginal ***,physiological,and biochemical responses were assessed in three ecotypes(eco2,eco9,and eco10)exposed to different salinity levels(low,moderate,and severe).The study was conducted using a completely randomized block design with three blocks per ecotype per *** results from the two-way analysis of variance demonstrate significant effects across nearly all attributes studied,revealing distinct ecotypic *** findings underscore variations in growth parameters,osmotic regulation mechanisms,and biochemical *** substantial diversity observed among these ecotypes in their response to salinity provides valuable insights for breeders addressing both agronomic and ecological *** analyses,including Principal Component Analysis(PCA),revealed key variables distinguishing between ecotypes under salinity ***,Classification based on Salinity Tolerance Indices(STI)further differentiated ecotypic performance with more precision,and this is because of the combination of the different parameters *** results open up new prospects for the development of strategies to improve the salinity tolerance of forage legumes.

BACKGROUND Meniscal tears are one of the most common knee *** the diagnosis of a meniscal tear has been made,there are several factors physicians use to guide clinical *** influence of time between injury and isolated meniscus repair on patient outcomes is not well *** this relationship is important as it may influence clinical decision-making and can add to the preoperative patient education *** hypothesized that increasing the time from injury to meniscus surgery would worsen postoperative *** To investigate the current literature for data on the relationship between time between meniscus injury and repair on patient *** PubMed,Academic Search Complete,MEDLINE,CINAHL,and SPORTDiscus were searched for studies published between January 1,1995 and July 13,2023 on isolated meniscus *** criteria included concomitant ligament surgery,incomplete outcomes or time to surgery data,and *** demographics,time to injury,and postoperative outcomes from each study were abstracted and *** Five studies met all inclusion and exclusion *** were 204(121 male,83 female)patients *** of five(60%)studies determined that time between injury and surgery was not statistically significant for postoperative Lysholm scores(P=0.62),Tegner scores(P=0.46),failure rate(P=0.45,P=0.86),and International Knee Documentation Committee scores(P=0.65).Two of five(40%)studies found a statistically significant increase in Lysholm scores with shorter time to surgery(P=0.03)and a statistically significant association between progression of medial meniscus extrusion ratio(P=0.01)and increasing time to *** Our results do not support the hypothesis that increased time from injury to isolated meniscus surgery worsens postoperative ***-making primarily based on injury interval is thus not recommended.

The Knowledge Economic City (KEC) of Al Madinah Al Munawwarah is one of the major projects and represents the cornerstone for the new development activities for Al Madinah. The study area contains different geological units dominated by basalt and overlain by surface deposits. The surface soils vary in thickness and can be classified into well-graded SAND with silt and gravel (SW-SM), silty SAND with gravel (SM), silty GRAVEL with sand (GM), and sandy SILTY clay (CL-ML). The subsurface soil obtained from the drilled boreholes can be classified into poorly graded GRAVEL (GP), well-graded GRAVEL with sand (GW), poorly graded GRAVEL with silt (GP-GM), silty CLAYEY gravel with sand (GC-GM), silty SAND with gravel (SM), silt with SAND (ML), and silty CLAY with sand (CL-ML), sandy lean CLAY (CL), and lean CLAY (CL). The relative density of the deposit and the different gravel sizes intercalated with the soil influenced the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) values. The SPT N values are high and approach refusal even at shallow depths. The shallow refusal depth (0.10 to 0.90 m) of the Dynamic Cone Penetration Test (DCPT) was observed. Generally, the soil can be described as inactive with low plasticity and dense to very dense consistency. The basalt of the KEC site is characterized by slightly (W2) to highly (W4) weathering, their strength ranges from moderate (S4) to very strong (S2), and the Rock Quality Designation (RQD) ranges from very poor (R5) to excellent (R1). The engineering geological map of the KEC characterized the geoengineering properties of the soil and rock materials and classified them into many zones. The high sulphate (SO42−) and chloride (Cl−) contents in groundwater call for protective measures for foundation concrete. The current study revealed that geohazard(s) mitigation measures concerning floods, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes should be considered.

BACKGROUND Dedicator of cytokinesis 8(DOCK 8) deficiency,also known as autosomal recessive hyper immunoglobulin E(IgE) syndrome,is a combined immunodeficiency disease that was first recognized in *** is caused by genetic alterations(mutations or deletions) in the DOCK 8 gene and is characterized by multiple allergies,elevated IgE levels,and susceptibility to viral and bacterial *** diagnosis is critical to optimize the success of stem cell *** SUMMARY This study reports the case of a pediatric patient with DOCK 8 deficiency who had negative genetic testing using multiplex primary immunodeficiency(PID) panel and whole-exome sequencing(WES) with a next-generation sequencing *** presented with chronic diarrhea and was managed as celiac disease based on previous negative workup for immunodeficiency and duodenal *** developed a generalized vesicular rash which was thought to be dermatitis herpetiformis associated with celiac ***,it turned out to be Eczema herpeticum based on positive herpes simplex virus from blood and *** diagnosis was re-evaluated after the child was found to have multiple viral,bacterial,and parasitic co-infections(herpes simplex virus,cytomegalovirus,Epstein-Barr virus,Salmonella,and cryptosporidiosis).Re-evaluation with target gene testing with copy number variation(CNV) analysis and Multiplex Ligation Probe Amplification(MLPA) showed a large homozygous deletion in the DOCK 8 gene,confirming the diagnosis of DOCK 8 *** Targeted gene testing with CNV analysis might detect deletions that can be missed by WES for diagnosing patients with PID.

Tubing pressure at gas injection depth in intermittent wells is one of the most critical parameters for production engineers to evaluate the performance of the ***,monitoring of the tubing pressure is not usually carried out in real *** has been realized that the generally used correlations are not effective enough due to complexity of the intermittent process which involve many parameters and assumptions to develop such *** focus of this study is to utilize machine learning(ML)algorithms to develop a model that can accurately predict tubing pressure in artificial intermittent gas lift *** algorithms built on the field data provide a solution that is easy to use and universally applicable to the complex *** non-linear regression ML methods are employed in this study,namely,Decision Tree-regression(DT),Random Forest-regression(RF)and K Nearest Neighbors-regression(KNN).All the tubing pressures obtained from ML models were compared with the actual values to ensure the effectiveness of the *** developed models show that it can predict the pressure with more than 99.9%*** is an interesting result,as such outcome accuracy has not been reported usually in the open literature.

An all-optical logic AND gate based on two-photon absorption (TPA) in semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is simulated. By solving the rate equations of SOA in the form of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI), the performance of AND gate is numerically investigated. The model takes the effects of ampli?ed spontaneous emission (ASE) and pulse energy on the system's quality factor (Q-factor) into account. Results show that the all-optical AND gate based on TPA in SOA-MZI based structure is feasible at 250 Gbit/s with a proper Q-factor.

The NAND operation at 250 Gbit/s based on quantum dot-semiconductor optical amplifiers (QD-SOAs) is modeled. By solving the rate equations of SOAs in the form of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI), the performance of NAND gate is numerically investigated. The model takes the effects of ampli?ed spontaneous emission (ASE) and the input pulse energy on the system's quality factor into account. Results show that NAND gate in QD-SOA-MZI based structure is feasible at 250 Gbit/s with a proper quality factor. The decrease in quality factor is predicted for high spontaneous emission factor (NSP). For an ideal amplifier (NSP = 2), the Q-factor is 17.8 for 30 dB gain.
