Energy-efficient and Secure Wireless Communication for Telemedicine in IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) represents a radical shifting paradigm fortechnological innovations as it can play critical roles in cyberspace applications invarious sectors, such as security, monitoring, medical, and environmental sectors,and also in control and industrial applications. The IoT in E-medicine unleashedthe design space for new technologies to give instant treatment to patients whilealso monitoring and tracking health conditions. This research presents a systemlevel architecture approach for IoT energy efficiency and security. The proposedarchitecture includes functional components that provide privacy managementand system security. Components in the security function group provide securecommunications through Multi-Authority Ciphertext-Policy Attributes-BasedEncryption (MA-CPABE). Because MA-CPABE is assigned to unlimited devices,presuming that the devices are reliable, the user encodes data with AdvancedEncryption Standard (AES) and protects the ABE approach using the solutionsof symmetric key. The Johnson’s algorithm with a new computation measure isused to increase network lifetime since an individual sensor node with limitedenergy represents the inevitable constraints for the broad usage of wireless sensornetworks. The optimal route from a source to destination turns out as the cornerstone for longevity of network and its sustainability. To reduce the energy consumption of networks, the evaluation measures consider the node’s residualenergy, the number of neighbors, their distance, and the link dependability. Theexperiment results demonstrate that the proposed model increases network lifeby about 12.25% (27.73%) compared to Floyd–Warshall’s, Bellman–Ford’s,and Dijkstra’s algorithms, lowering consumption of energy by eliminating thenecessity for re-routing the message as a result of connection failure.

Design of Nonlinear Components Over a Mordell Elliptic Curve on Galois Fields

Elliptic curve cryptography ensures more safety and reliability than other public key cryptosystems of the same key size.In recent years,the use of elliptic curves in public-key cryptography has increased due to their complexity and reliability.Different kinds of substitution boxes are proposed to address the substitution process in the cryptosystems,including dynamical,static,and elliptic curve-based methods.Conventionally,elliptic curve-based S-boxes are based on prime field GF(p)but in this manuscript;we propose a new technique of generating S-boxes based on mordell elliptic curves over the Galois field GF(2n).This technique affords a higher number of possibilities to generate S-boxes,which helps to increase the security of the cryptosystem.The robustness of the proposed S-boxes against the well-known algebraic and statistical attacks is analyzed to classify its potential to generate confusion and achieve up to the mark results compared to the various schemes.The majority logic criterion results determine that the proposed S-boxes have up to the mark cryptographic strength.

The commercialization of the fifth-generation(5G)wireless network has begun.Massive devices are being integrated into 5G-enabled wireless sensor networks(5GWSNs)to deliver a variety of valuable services to network users.However,there are rising fears that 5GWSNs will expose sensitive user data to new security vulnerabilities.For secure end-to-end communication,key agreement and user authentication have been proposed.However,when billions of massive devices are networked to collect and analyze complex user data,more stringent security approaches are required.Data integrity,nonrepudiation,and authentication necessitate special-purpose subtree-based signature mechanisms that are pretty difficult to create in practice.To address this issue,this work provides an efficient,provably secure,lightweight subtreebased online/offline signature procedure(SBOOSP)and its aggregation(Agg-SBOOSP)for massive devices in 5G WSNs using conformable chaotic maps.The SBOOSP enables multi-time offline storage access while reducing processing time.As a result,the signer can utilize the pre-stored offline information in polynomial time.This feature distinguishes our presented SBOOSP from previous online/offline-signing procedures that only allow for one signature.Furthermore,the new procedure supports a secret key during the pre-registration process,but no secret key is necessary during the offline stage.The suggested SBOOSP is secure in the logic of unforgeability on the chosen message attack in the random oracle.Additionally,SBOOSP and Agg-SBOOSP had the lowest computing costs compared to other contending schemes.Overall,the suggested SBOOSP outperforms several preliminary security schemes in terms of performance and computational overhead.

Nonlinear dynamics is a fascinating area that is intensely affecting a wide range of different disciplines of science and technology globally.The combination of different innovative topics of information security and high-speed computing has added new visions into the behavior of complex nonlinear dynamical systems which uncovered amazing results even in the least difficult nonlinearmodels.The generation of complex actions froma very simple dynamical method has a strong relation with information security.The protection of digital content is one of the inescapable concerns of the digitally advanced world.Today,information plays an important role in everyday life and affects the surroundings rapidly.These digital contents consist of text,images,audio,and videos,respectively.Due to the vast usage of digital images in the number of social and web applications,its security is one of the biggest issues.In this work,we have offered an innovative image encryption technique based on present criteria of confusion and diffusion.The designed scheme comprises two major nonlinear dynamical systems.We have employed discrete fractional chaotic iterative maps to add confusion capability in our suggested algorithm and continuous chaotic Lorenz system.We have verified our offered scheme by using statistical analysis.The investigations under the statistical tests suggested that our proposed technique is quite reasonable for the security of digital data.

Data Encryption Standard(DES)is a symmetric key cryptosystem that is applied in different cryptosystems of recent times.However,researchers found defects in the main assembling of the DES and declared it insecure against linear and differential cryptanalysis.In this paper,we have studied the faults and made improvements in their internal structure and get the new algorithm for Improved DES.The improvement is being made in the substitution step,which is the only nonlinear component of the algorithm.This alteration provided us with great outcomes and increase the strength of DES.Accordingly,a novel 6×6 good quality S-box construction scheme has been hired in the substitution phase of the DES.The construction involves the Galois field method and generates robust S-boxes that are used to secure the scheme against linear and differential attacks.Then again,the key space of the improved DES has been enhanced against the brute force attack.The out-comes of different performance analyses depict the strength of our proposed substitution boxes which also guarantees the strength of the overall DES.

Unique presentation of neonatal liver failure:A case report

BACKGROUND Acute fulminant liver failure rarely occurs in the neonatal period.The etiologies include viral infection(15%),metabolic/genetic disease(10%),hematologic disorders(15%),and ischemic injury(5%).Gestational alloimmune liver disease usually manifests as severe neonatal liver failure,with extensive hepatic and extrahepatic iron overload,sparing the reticuloendothelial system.Empty liver failure is a rare cause of liver failure where a patient presents with liver failure in the neonatal period with no hepatocytes in liver biopsy.CASE SUMMARY A 5-week-old male presented with jaundice.Physical examination revealed an alert but deeply icteric infant.Laboratory data demonstrated direct hyperbilirubinemia,a severely deranged coagulation profile,normal transaminase,and normal ammonia.Magnetic resonance imaging of the abdomen was suggestive of perinatal hemochromatosis.Liver biopsy showed histiocytic infiltration with an absence of hepatocytes.No hemosiderin deposition was identified in a buccal mucosa biopsy.CONCLUSION Neonatal liver failure in the absence of hepatocellular regeneration potentially reflects an acquired or inborn defect in the regulation of hepatic regeneration.

Optimal Coordination of Transportable Power Sources and Repair Crews for Service Restoration of Distribution Networks Considering Uncertainty of Traffic Congestion

This paper proposes a new method for service restoration of distribution network with the support of transportable power sources(TPSs)and repair crews(RCs).Firstly,a coupling model of distribution networks and vehicle routing of TPSs and RCs is proposed,where the TPSs serve as emergency power supply sources,and the RCs are used to repair the faulted lines.Considering the uncertainty of traffic congestion,the probability distribution of the travel time spent on each road is derived based on the Nesterov user equilibrium model,and a two-stage stochastic program is formulated to determine the optimal routings of TPSs and RCs.To efficiently solve the proposed stochastic mixed-integer linear program(MILP),a two-phase scenario reduction method is then developed to scale down the problem size,and an adaptive progressive hedging algorithm is used for an efficient solution.The effectiveness of the proposed methods and algorithms has been illustrated in a modified IEEE 33-bus system.

Energy management in smart homes is one of the most critical problems for the Quality of Life(QoL)and preserving energy resources.One of the relevant issues in this subject is environmental contamination,which threatens the world's future.Green computing-enabled Artificial Intelligence(Al)algorithms can provide impactful solutions to this topic.This research proposes using one of the Recurrent Neural Network(RNN)algorithms known as Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)to comprehend how it is feasible to perform the cloud/fog/edge-enabled prediction of the building's energy.Four parameters of power electricity,power heating,power cooling,and total power in an office/home in cold-climate cities are considered as our features in the study.Based on the collected data,we evaluate the LSTM approach for forecasting parameters for the next year to predict energy consumption and online monitoring of the model's performance under various conditions.Towards implementing the Al predictive algorithm,several existing tools are studied.The results have been generated through simulations,and we find them promisingforfutureapplications.

Pulsed lavage in joint arthroplasty: A systematic review and metaanalysis

BACKGROUND Knee and hip osteoarthritis affects millions of people around the world and is expected to rise even more in frequency as the population ages.Joint arthroplasty is the surgical management of choice in these articulations.Heterotopic ossi-fication and radiolucent lines formation are two frequent problems faced in hip and knee replacements respectively.Some studies show that the usage of pulsed lavage may prevent their formation.AIM To compare pulsed lavage to standard lavage in joint arthroplasty.METHODS PubMed,Cochrane,and Google Scholar(page 1-20)were searched till December 2023.Only comparative studies were included.The clinical outcomes evaluated were the heterotopic ossification formation in hip replacements,radiolucent lines formation,and functional knee scores in knee replacements.RESULTS Four studies met the inclusion criteria and were included in this meta-analysis.Pulsed lavage was shown to reduce the formation of radiolucent lines(P=0.001).However,no difference was seen in the remaining outcomes CONCLUSION Pulsed lavage reduced the formation of radiolucent lines in knee replacements.No difference was seen in the remaining outcomes.Furthermore,the clinical significance of these radiolucent lines is poorly understood.Better conducted randomized controlled studies and cost-effectivity studies are needed to reinforce these findings.

Alert Device for Social Distancing

Social distancing among people is vital in minimizing spread of COVID-19 within community and can be effective in flattening the outbreak. This research work focuses on developing a close contact proximity detection system among smartphone users, particularly of COVID-19 patient, using Bluetooth signal to identify and analyze close contact proximity and social distancing from other anonymous smartphone users in their surroundings. Covering a physical space of six feet, a mandatory safety measure in shopping centers, schools, and other crowded areas, is a social solution advocated by World Health Organization (WHO) officials in this COVID-19. Everyone is concerned about their safety in the COVID-19 environment, so we came up with the concept of producing this new equipment. Most of the time, our attention is drawn to those in front of us and to our sides, but we are unable to keep track of those behind us. The major goal of this project is to keep individuals at a safe distance from one another. PIR sensor is used in this proposed work. Why did the World Health Organization (WHO) put 6 feet as a social distancing? When someone coughs or sneezes, small droplets are spread from the cough or sneeze. If you are in close proximity, you can breathe in those droplets, which may contain the COVID-19 virus, according to the World Health Organization. Vanderbilt University infectious disease expert Dr. William Schaffner said the “6 feet distance” rule comes from studies of respiratory physiology. Schaffner explains that even “without a cough or sneeze, the exhaled air mixes with the surrounding air within a distance of 3 to 6 feet, which is known as the breathing zone.” Schaffner continues: “If you are standing 3 to 6 feet away from me, you may inhale droplets that spread through coughing or sneezing. Of course, if I am infected with the virus, these droplets will contain the virus.”
