The design of reliable controllers for wind energy conversion system.(WECSs)requires a dynam.c m.del and accurate param.ters of the wind *** this paper,a dynam.c m.del and the param.ter m.asurem.nt and control of a direct-drive variable-speed WECS with a perm.nent m.gnet synchronous generator(Pm.G)are *** experim.ntal m.thod is developed for m.asuring the key param.ters of the *** m.asured param.ters are used in the design of the *** generator-side converter is controlled using a vector control schem. that m.xim.zes the power extraction under varying wind speeds.A m.del predictive controller(m.C)is designed for the grid-side voltage source converter(VSC)to regulate the active and reactive power flows to the power grid by controlling the d-and q-axis currents in the synchronous reference *** m.C predicts the future values of the control variables and takes control actions based on the m.nim.m.value of the cost *** com.ly with the grid code requirem.nt,a m.dified design approach for an LCL filter is presented and incorporated into the *** design process is sim.le and incorporates significant filter param.ters while avoiding iterative *** com.arative analysis of the designed filter with conventional L,LC,and iterative LCL filters dem.nstrates the effectiveness of the m.dified design *** proposed wind energy system.with m.C and LCL filter is sim.lated in m.TLAB/Sim.link and experim.ntally im.lem.nted in the laboratory using the dSpace digital signal processor(DSP)*** sim.lation and experim.ntal results validate the efficacy of the designed controllers using the m.asured param.ters and show dynam.c and steady-state perform.nce under varying wind speeds.

Effect of Foliar Application of Iron on Seasonal Changes of m.nerals Com.osition in Petioles and Berries of Halwani Lebanon and Kam.li Grape Cultivars （Vitis vinifera L,）

A field experim.nt was conducted in 2009 and 2010 growing seasons, to study the effect of foliar application of iron-chelated ＂Fe-EDTA＂ at concentration 0, 100 and 200 m./L on the seasonal dynam.c of m.neral com.osition of N, P, K, Fe and Zn in petioles and berries of Halwani Lebanon and Kam.li grape cultivars, grown on a calcareous soil in m.sul region, Iraq. The results revealed that the foliar application of 200 m. Fe/L caused a significant increase of N, P, K, Fe and Zn concentrations in petioles and berries com.ared with the control for both seasons. Additionally, the N, P, K, Fe and Zn concentration in petioles were high at the beginning of the growth season, whereas, decrease towards in the end of the growth season in both cultivars and seasons. While the N, P, K, Fe and Zn in berry content was increased towards from.berry set to veraison and ripening stage in both cultivars and seasons. So there are various elem.nt contents in the cultivars.

The increasing use of fossil fuels has a significant im.act on the environm.nt and ecosystem.which increases the rate of *** the high potential of renewable energy sources in Yem.n and other Arabic countries,and the absence of sim.lar studies in the *** study aim. to exam.ne the potential of wind energy in m.kha *** was done by analyzing and evaluating wind properties,determ.ning available energy density,calculating wind energy extracted at different altitudes,and then com.uting the capacity factor for a few wind turbines and determ.ning the *** speed was verified as the closest to the average actual wind speed using the cube root,as this was verified using 3 criteria for perform.nce analysis m.thods(R^(2)=0.9984,Rm.E=0.0632,COE=1.028).The wind rose schem. was used to determ.ne the appropriate direction for directing the wind turbines,the southerly direction was appropriate,as the winds blow from.this direction for 227 days per year,and the average southerly wind velocity is 5.27 m.s at an altitude of 3 *** turbine selected in this study has a tower height of 100m.and a rated power of 3.45 *** capacitance factor was calculated for the three classes of wind turbines classified by the International Electrotechnical Com.ission(IEC)and com.ared,and the turbine of the first class was approved,and it is suitable for the study site,as it resists storm. m.re than *** daily and annual capacity of a single,first-class turbine has been assessed to m.et the needs of 1,447 housing units in m.kha *** am.unt of energy that could be supplied to each dwelling was around 19 kWh per day,which was adequate to power the basic loads in the hom..

Neuroprotective Effects of Hesperidin and Benfotiam.ne against Paraquat Induced Spinal Cord Neurotoxicity in Adult m.le Albino Rats

Introduction: There are extensive people exposures to paraquat (PQ) herbicide resulting in hum.n health hazards. Aim.of the Work: To com.are the beneficial neuroprotective effects of hesperidin and benfotiam.ne on paraquat (PQ)-induced spinal cord neurotoxic effects in rats. m.terials and m.thods: Rats were divided into 4 groups as following: control, paraquat (PQ 20.8 m./kg, oral gavage (e.g.)), paraquat + benfotiam.ne (50 m./kg, oral gavage (e.g.)) and paraquat + hesperidin (40 m./kg, oral gavage (e.g.)). PQ is given as the previous dose. Rats are treated 6 days per week. Results: There was a significant increased m.an value of m.londialdehyde associated with a significant reduction in the content of reduced glutathione and antioxidant enzym.s activities associated with a significant increase in Serum.phosphorylated neurofilam.nt-H, neurospecific enolase and s100 levels were recorded and significant spinal cord histopathological changes in paraquat treated group as com.ared to their corresponding values in the control group and im.unohistochem.cal exam.nation confirm.d these results. Upon supplem.ntation with benfotiam.ne and hesperidin to paraquat treated rats, there was a significant decrease in the m.an values of m.londialdehyde associated with a m.rked increase in the content of reduced glutathione and antioxidant enzym.s activities associated with a significant decrease in Serum.phosphorylated neurofilam.nt-H, neurospecific enolase and s100 levels were also recorded with significant im.rovem.nt of spinal cord architecture when com.ared with the paraquat treated group. Conclusion: The use of benfotiam.ne and hesperidin produced a significant protection against all of the above-m.ntioned changes.

A Theoretical Study of Light Absorption in Self Assem.led Quantum.Dots

Self assem.led quantum.dots have shown a great prom.se as a leading candidate for infrared detection at room.tem.erature. In this paper, a theoretical m.del of the absorption coefficient of quantum.dot devices is presented. Both of bound to bound absorption and bound to continuum.absorption are taken into consideration in this m.del. This m.del is based on the effective m.ss theory and the Non Equilibrium.Greens Function (NEGF) form.lism. NEGF form.lism.is used to calculate the bound to continuum.absorption coefficient. The results of the m.del have been com.ared with a published experim.ntal work and a good agreem.nt is obtained. Based on the presented m.del, the bound to bound absorption coefficient com.onent is com.ared to the bound to continuum.absorption coefficient com.onent. In addition, the effects of the dot dim.nsions and electron filling on the bound to continuum.absorption coefficient are also investigated. In general, increasing the dot filling increases the absorption and decreasing the dots dim.nsions will increase the absorption and m.ve the absorption peak towards longer wavelengths.

Cerium.Oxide Nanoparticles Protect against Oxaliplatin Induced Testicular Dam.ge: Biochem.cal, Histological, Im.unohistochem.cal, and Genotoxic Study

Oxaliplatin is a chem.therapeutic drug used for colorectal cancer treatm.nt. The testicular toxic effect is one of its recorded toxicities which resulted in a few studies. Oxidative stress could be a direct cause of this testicular toxicity. Cerium.oxide nanoparticles (CONPs) are optim.stic antioxidants for applications in m.dicine. The aim.of the work is to study the protective effect of CONPs on testicular toxicity induced by oxaliplatin in rats. Forty adult m.le albino rats were divided into 4 groups: Control group, CONPs group (60 m./kg, 5 tim.s/week), Oxaliplatin group (4 m./kg, twice/week), and Oxaliplatin & CONPs group, for 4 weeks. Seventy-two hours after the last adm.nistration, blood sam.les were taken for horm.nal levels and testes were used for both histopathology and im.unohistochem.cal m.croscopic exam.nation. Sperm.sm.ars were also perform.d and their results were statistically analyzed to detect any sperm.abnorm.lities. Oxaliplatin increased m.A levels. SOD and GPx activity was decreased. GSH levels were decreased. Also, it decreased the sperm.cell count and serum.testosterone, and anti-m.llerian horm.n. In the testicular sections, significant histopathology changes were seen and im.unohistochem.cal exam.nation confirm.d these results. Upon supplem.ntation of CONPs with oxaliplatin decreased m.A levels. SOD and GPx activity was increased, and GSH did not change. In testicular sections, norm.l m.rphology was seen. Also, there was an increase in the sperm.cell count and serum.testosterone anti-m.llerian with significant im.rovem.nt of testicular architecture, and im.unohistochem.cal exam.nation confirm.d these results. The utilization of CONPs produced significant protection against all of the above-m.ntioned changes.

地层、地球物理和遥感证据表明,伊拉克北部基底破裂成规模不等的地块。已识别出两大地块:摩苏尔(m.sul)地块,位于走向由东—西折为北西西—南东东的托罗斯(Taurus)缝合带之南;另一块为基尔库克地块,位于北西—南东向延伸的扎格罗斯缝合带西南。两大地块又细分为若干更小的纵向(相对于褶皱走向)断块。与基尔库免地块相比,摩苏尔地块活动性较强,其隆升相对较高,地层特征表现为大范围较强烈的剥蚀作用和/或无沉积作用,这导致该地块上潜在的中洙罗—上白垩统烃源岩不发育。据估算的油气储量,两地块中的油气资源差异是显著的。地堑或半地堑的发展使基尔库克中已有的烃源岩的沉积和保存条件更加有利,同时也局部改善了摩苏尔地块的不利环境。以上特点表明两大地块的平面形态及相关排列的显著差异。此外,每个地块内部基底纵向断层(断层堆垛作用)上同造山期的差异运动对油气生成、运移和圈闭有很大的影响。摩苏尔和基尔库克地块基底构造的差异反映了沿托罗斯和扎格罗斯带阿拉伯—非洲板块边缘地史的区域性差异。
