Postpartum hemoglobinuria (PPH) is a sporadic noninfectious syndrome which normally seen in bovine around the world. PPH is most commonly affecting high-productive cows and buffaloes during the early pregnancy and early lactation period. PPH stands as a serious threat to the dairy cattle and buffaloes in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, affecting a considerable number of animals every year. It is characterized by hemoglobinuria, intravenous hemolysis, severe anemia, and death due to anemia and hypoxia. However, the exact mechanism of the mentioned illness is not completely understood. Lots of comprehensive studies have been done and/or still are in progress in order to find the exact causes of intravascular hemolysis that is responsible for hemoglobinuria in the mentioned disease. But, hypophosphatemia in the high productive milking cows during the early stage of milk production is widely confident to be associated with PPH. In different parts of the world, many risk factors had been reported to be associated with PPH. Comparative Evaluation of Different Treatment for Purulent Wounds in Dogs

To compare the healing of purulent wounds with Shilajit dressing vs. Vishnevsky dressing in dogs with purulent wounds of >2 weeks of duration, eight dogs were chosen from same ages in two groups i.e., Shilajit and Vishnevsky dressing group. Dressing was done on every day basis for more than two weeks of follow up period. Main outcome of healing measure was completed at three weeks. Wound healing status was assessed at three days intervals till end of three weeks. Shilajit treated achieved complete decrease in the wound surface area, effect of healing score in Shilajit dressing group in comparison to the Vishnevsky dressing group at p > 0.05 level of significance. Shilajit is highly effective in achieving a characteristic feature of regenerative and granulation healing of purulent wounds as compared to Vishnevsky dressing group in dogs.

Inhibitory Effects of Several Fluoroquinolones on Feline CYP1A and 3A in Hepatic Microsomes

In this study, the effects of several fluoroquinolones (FQs), such as Ciprofloxacin (CPFX);Orbifloxacin (OBFX);Norfloxacin (NFX);Ofloxacin (OFX);and Enerofloxacin (EFX) on activities of both Cytochrome P450 1A (CYP1A) and Cytochrome P450 3A (CYP3A) of feline microsomes by in vitro tests were studied. Ethoxyresorufin O-deethylation (EROD) and Midazolam 1' hydroxylation and 4-hydroxylation (MDZ1'H and MDZ4H) were analyzed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). All the FQs inhibited the reactions by a competitive or noncompetitive and irreversible manner. The inhibitory constants (Ki) were as followings: CYP1A;ranged from 0.12 to 1.23 mM for NFX, OBFX, EFX, CPFX, OFX and CYP3A, for MDZ1'H;ranged from 5.8 to 35 and MDZ4H;9 to 29 mM, respectively. As these values are higher by 24 to 200-times of given single clinical dose of serum levels after application of FQs. It indicates that if co-administrated with these FQs by reversible inhibitory manner, the inhibition of CYP1A and CYP3A effect on CYP1A and 3A actions is not very significant to cause drug interaction with above mentioned enzyme substrates. Out of the FQs tested, CPFX and NFX for CYP1A, and CPFX for CYP3A showed irreversible inhibitory effects (time-dependent), so it has been concluded that these drugs may cause drug-drug interaction by accumulation, when they are repeatedly administrated. Since EFX is biotransformed to CPFX by the liver, it could have the identical risk too.

Load frequency Control (LFC) is used for many years as part of Automatic Generation Control (AGC) in power system around the world. In a mixed power system, it is usual to find an area regulated by hydro generation interconnected to another area regulated by thermal generation or in combination of both. In the following study, performance of AGC for Thermal, Hydro and Thermal turbine based power system is examined, including how frequency bias setting influences AGC response and inadvertent interchange. Control performance analysis of three area interconnected systems is simulated and studied through Matlab Simulink software. Integral square error and Integral time absolute error has been used as performance criterion. It is shown that integral time absolute error (ITAE) as performance index leads to faster optimization of controller gain.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the inhibitive efficacy of Nymphoides Indica(L.) Kuntze rhizome extract onα-glucosidase and on cross-link formation of advanced glycation end products(AGEs).METHODS: The plant extracts were prepared by cold maceration and fractionated in solvents of diverse polarity. The in vitro α-glucosidase inhibition assay, fluorescence spectrometry and SDS-PAGE analysis was performed for antiglycation ***: During α-glucosidase inhibition assay significant inhibition by chloroform(0.43 mg/mL)and methanol fractions(0.66 mg/mL) was *** the AGEs inhibition assay, both oxidative(BSA-MGO) and non-oxidative(BSA-glucose)modes were employed. The inhibition of AGEs by total extract was considered moderate(IC_(50)0.10 mg/mL) as a result of non-oxidative mode, whereas in case of oxidative mode(BASA-MGO) no activity was recorded. Among fractions the methanolic fraction presented significant results both in oxidative(IC_(50)0.01 mg/mL) and non-oxidative modes(IC_(50) 0.3 mg/mL). Likewise the ethyl acetate fraction was more active in non-oxidative mode(IC_(50)0.04 mg/mL) compared to oxidative mode(IC_(50)0.32 mg/mL).During assay for inhibition of cross-link formation,the chloroform fraction significantly inhibited cross-link formation in a dose dependent ***: It was finally concluded that N. Indica rhizome extract possesses significant properties that inhibit α-glucosidase, and AGEs cross-link formation.
